So, you are saying that it became burdensome AFTER they got laid off. You know, some of us have low paying jobs and are burdened by bills and have to take another job to make ends meet to support the family. BURDENED WITH A JOB. Sounds like these people were BURDENED due to LOSS of job, not burdened by amount they make, but a loss of MONEY.

NO MONEY, burden. MORE MONEY, no burden. depending on lifestyles of the rich and GREEDY.
