People like this are why I have a sword named "cake".

That way, when the civil war starts. Or the manure hits the spinning blade, I can find these people and let them eat cake.

The revolution will come, and I will be on the front lines.

We should all try and live within our means. If he is struggling, then maybe he should cut back like the rest of us do. No one wants to have their living standards reduced, but sometimes you have to cut back. It's just common sense. No point whining about it.

I love how this guy talks about the possibility of having to pull his kids out of private school; yet, he makes no mention of cancelling those $7,500 memberships at the country club and gun club. It's refreshing to see that his priorities are in order.

I live every day on under $12,000. per year. I daily fantasize about what it would be like to have my own house, my own vehicle (a new one, too,) to keep in my own garage, instead of an apartment where I can hear everyone speak and play their music and tvs, while I have no vehicle. Am 53 but I walk everywhere I go. I guess the exercise is a good thing.

This guy needs a double transfusion of the Bush tax cuts, STAT!
If things get bad enough he can eat his Bichon frise.
I've heard they taste like salmon.

Was this satire?

Seriously though look from that perspective: You're rich, you live a very comfortable lifestyle .. all of a sudden your very way of life ends and everything changes for the worse.

Sounds perfectly logical to me.. I'm certain it's stressful. Just because they have money, doesn't mean they are not the same as you and me, they have feelings as well you know.

Is it hard to have sympathy for them? Hell yeah it is.. doesn't mean I don't see where the guy's coming from though.

If that is what you gleaned from the article, and my response, then you are just trolling.

Of course, it could be all the cat food I have been eating...

As I said before, the revolution will come. And I will be on the front lines, fighting against these people who think I am less than them. Who think their life is more important than mine, who think their manure doesn't stink.

So, to answer your trollish question: No I would not kill a person for having more money than me, of course you knew that, didn't you

oh, the poor soul, and to think I only had to work close to a year while crapping blood because I was afraid of the medicals costs of getting the problem fixed!!!
guess I'll have to write to obama and tell him to raise the tax rate on my under $20,000 job so he doesn't have to miss out on his caviar, private schools, and high class memberships!!!

and for those who say I am jealous, no I am not, could give a dang about caviar, or private schools, or memberships to private clubs!!
but it would have been nice if my one son had the clothes he needed to go to school when he was in high school, or the medicine he needed!! and it would have been nice if I was able to have gotten my danged foot at least diagnosed before it went crack, crack after taking two steps and breaking!!

The poor eating cat food? I have 4 cats and my weekly cat food bill is $54. Ramen noodles and hot dogs would be more realistic.

If that muppet is willing to whinge about how tough living on 350,000k a year is, he can go shag himself, so can the others in the same boat.

Yes that is an intelligent idea...
/sarcasm

Seriously, what did I say that brought out all the "interesting" responses?

Oh, I see! I am not supposed to be insulted at the arrogance presented by this article? I am not supposed to see the same behavior traits in many of the ultra rich, and even if I do see those traits I must again be un-insulted?

It's one thing to push me down in the mud, and I can "forgive" that. But if they are going to push me down AND make fun of me for being down, well you might take rear pokings but I do not.

All joking aside, the way inflation is going these days, I wonder how long it will be befoe $350,000/yr. is a solid middle class income for a worker. It probably sounds like a joke on my part, but looking at how fast the money is being pumped, I wonder.

It all comes down to image!
These people just have to be seen at the right places, join the right clubs, drive the right cars, live in the right places, in a never ending competition to be perceived as having "made it" to the top. I have seen it all before, shallow people with usually no redeeming features whose lives revolve around projecting an image and having the means to finance that image, even if it means doing so on the backs of others. I personally love to see them crash and burn, it becomes entertaining.

Most only act this way and spend this way because it is what is expected of them, being a high earner. Of course, it's all for show and there are plenty of opportunists out there waiting to pander to their ego's and relieve them of their money. Bottom line is, they are no different from the rest of us, they just have a high opinion of themselves and expect the rest of us to be in awe of their achievements and wealth.

I remember seeing a story in the British press a few years back when things in the city really started on a downward spiral. Investment bankers having high-end cars repossessed, and one firm of specialist divorce lawyers seeing a large uptick in divorce applications in the banking sector. Seems when the money stops flowing, the high maintenance silicone enhanced trophy wives also see the opportunity to screw them over royally one more time. I got a giggle out of it imagining pudgy mid-life banker types giving up the Ferraris for Fords and having to move back in with mum, as their newly divorced wives sat chuckling in the stockbroker belt houses, with custody of the Range Rovers.
