I have to say this is huge on a number of levels because the new science of regenerative medicine gives us something that really helps. old age not Sucking

There is a lot to be said for, natural Hair, natural teeth, natural skin and the ability to regrow certain tissues, like the disks in your back and your joints.

Cosmetic and comfort alone make a big difference in old age and quality of life.

He is only fixing an existing tooth with broken root, not growing new teeth and this is old stuff same as the Tia Chi Master putting calcium in his bone by vibration nothing more except modern method to do so. The device will not grow enamel either.

EDMONTON - Long used as a test for pregnant women, ultrasound may soon have a new role -- growing teeth.

A team of University of Alberta researchers is seeking a U.S. patent on a tiny device that will sit inside the mouth and beam ultrasound waves at teeth.

The device won't help Ryan Smyth, the Edmonton Oiler who lost three teeth in the hockey playoffs, but it may prevent tooth damage that can occur from wearing braces.

And it may do much more than that. The research team envisages bandages embedded with tiny ultrasound machines that may some day be wrapped around broken legs to help the bone heal more quickly.

The idea originated with Dr. Tarek El-Bialy, an Egyptian-born orthodontist who joined the university's faculty of dentistry a year ago.

El-Bialy has shown in earlier research that ultrasound waves, the high frequency sound waves normally used for diagnostic imaging, help bones heal and tooth material grow.

"I was using ultrasound to stimulate bone formation after lower-jaw lengthening in rabbits," El-Bialy said in an interview Tuesday.

To his surprise, not only did he help heal the rabbits' jaws after the surgery, but their teeth started to grow as well.

He later did a human study to see if ultrasound could prevent damage to the roots of teeth when people wear braces. Braces force the teeth to move, and that can cause root damage.

That study, published in 2004, showed that a tooth getting a daily shot of ultrasound was protected from damage, and in fact had more dental tissue than before.

"The problem was that the ultrasound device we were using was very big, and the patient had to hold it in his mouth for 20 minutes every day," El-Bialy said.

When he moved to the U of A, he joined forces with two members of the engineering faculty, Jie Chen and Ying Tsui, to design an ultrasound machine small enough to sit inside a person's mouth. Chen is an expert in small-circuit devices, Tsui in ultrasound. They think it will take a year to create a workable ultrasound device less than a centimetre long, small enough to attach to braces or to a plastic temporary crown and powered by a tiny battery.

Tsui said once the device -- which has been named LIPUS, for low-intensity pulsed ultrasound -- is created, it can be used for a variety of purposes. One idea is to make bandages embedded with tiny ultrasound devices, for healing broken bones.

Ultrasound has also been shown to stimulate the growth of stem cells, the cells that create all other cells, he said. An ultrasound device could be made for triggering stem cell reproduction.

El-Bialy also has work to do. So far, he has been able to stimulate growth of the inner part of teeth, but not the enamel. That's why he can't regrow Ryan Smyth's teeth.

He's starting new research to try to use ultrasound to repair cracked or broken teeth.

The researchers estimate their LIPUS device will be ready for public use within two years.

Your full of it read what the real story is, and the the inventor never said he used stem cells, to grow root back, he just used a tooth with his gismo.

You have to wait awhile and go into cryogenic deep freeze for awhile. So don't get you hopes up to soon cost about 650 to start and 150 a years to freeze your dental stem cells and I think it works better on kids?

Fair and I am actually agnostic in regards to the after life, I know when I look at the Bible I read stories of Men who lived for 100's of years not 75, so regardless, I have reason to pursue my longevity studies.

As far as the news, I am a scientist, every news story has to have sources, while politics has NO FACTS period and is 100% opinion and belief by nature, the science News takes me directly to the sources and my background lets me make informed decisions.

In this case I would get a root canal or have a tooth extracted at this point and time in history unless I literally had no other immediate choice due to severity of infection, considering that the Ultra sound frequency is available on the net and I can order an ultra sound machine that can hit it, (admittedly a cumbersome variety) I am quite sure I will never encounter that situation from here, my doctor can order from Acell and I can acquire the hardware, I can say with certainty I will have my teeth until I die unless someone shoots me in the face or some other similar horror

This is kind of a scam, my personal results using only TA 65 in regards to my Telomeres is astonishing, I doubt it will be necessary to store cells at the rate we a learning to differentiate stem cells into the types of cells we wish them to become and since de-aging of a cell is much easier to accomplish in a laboratory than in the human body, in other words, by the time i'd personally need to clone any cells I don't think the actual age of the cells and number of divisions it had left will actually be an issue, with that said at 650 and 150 a year? I'll probably do it in the next couple of years just as a precaution, chump change really

The human Genome was sequenced in 2003 completely and the first embryonic stem cell lines were only developed in 1998, this is a science in it's infancy and it's moving at astonishing speeds compared to what is being done and what has already been accomplished.

For bone regeneration it shows a frequency of 2720 HZ.
Now then I have read somewhere that you can plug into your headphone jack (have a double male end wire) and play this frequency and apply the free end of the wire with the 2nd jack to whatever your want to work on.
To you tooth maybe.
However, what I do not know and maybe you do, is how much power comes off the end of the headphone jack.
AMPS especially, as they are what can kill you.

You can kill the bacteria that causes cavities as well as the bacteria that causes bad breath by using a Zapper.
I use one and never have bad breath; never have "fur" growing on my teeth.
This will not prevent tooth erosion, as that is a matter of chemistry.
