Nope, ain't what I am saying. What I am saying is if the state is going to pay for you from cradle to grave you cannot expect them to not institute guidelines to save money.

The State pays? You mean the dictators get together and fund this out of THEIR pockets? Do you understand a democracy? This is TAX dollars, citizens dollars!

All a government is, is paid for managers of the citizens estate, which is their children's inheritance. And the citizens are free and sovereign beings.

Having services for the citizens, and extremely good ones, far beyond the crapola that they push, so no one is homeless, all have medical, dental, education on all levels, counseling, and every need is met, a really good, upgraded equal and free system, in no way limits the sovereignity. Its not like, oh we are providing for you so we own you.

No its we, who are providing for us and arranging an ideal world, if that ever becomes the case.

They are only hired, paid for by us, managers of our children inheritance, you know OUR ESTATE. And the system should be changed and updated by the people, so that its illegal to elect wealthy or bloodlines, only "by the people" and that anyone that is corrupted can be tossed really quickly, there shouldn't be one leader but a panel of citizens at the top and easily ejected at that with councils of citizens and watchdogs educating people in every town. You know the way a business hires someone. They shouldnt be paid more than a teacher either.

Welcome to the nanny state!

Please turn in your Life and Liberty at the entrance to the barbed wired gated safety area and proceed through the full body scan followed by uncomfortable poking(not the FB kind).
Your happiness will be issued to you by the armed guards in government prescribed amounts, we suggest smiling when you receive your happiness as the guards are ordered to escort the unhappy to our special re-happiness training facilities.

Have a safe and well regulated day!

The propaganda bought here is amazing.

To equate services with fascism and nanny state, and a business corporate pyramid system as freedom. This is what they spend a lot of money promoting.

I wouldn't vote for anyone on the ballot there. Ron Paul is too conservative. None of them qualify. They're all bloodlines.

You need to form councils of citizens in every community and work for freedom and equality, fathers and mothers energy combined, and only elect real ordinary people.

DO PEOPLE FORGET THAT PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE PAID FOR BY TAX DOLLARS...
The schools job is to educate children not to dictate their lunches from home, and even worse this isnt even the school its A FEDERAL OR STATE OFFICIAL in the class room or lunch.
not met for UNITY sorry

The inspector clearly made a mistake. I'm sure she is human and probably in a bit of a hurry.

If I were this child's parent, I would have a conversation with the school and send a note that I am aware of the guidelines and my child's lunch will meet them every day.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. I like the idea of the school providing lunches for those in need, but someone just got a little too overzealous, I think.

I totally agree. That is what I wrote when someone suggested that the state owns you when the state pays for services.

I said, that tax payer pays for services. That we can have as many services as we wish and we're still free. They're just servants. My second post above.

I would never allow them to do this.

These wanna be dictators all need some jail time.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's troubles. Doctors learn everything about anatomy and medical terms and so on, but know very little about nutrition.

Well, It's official. The damn chicken lobbyist's have invaded the school systems, looks like an all out poultry war, chicken, can't have turkey knocking it off the top rung. As the other poster said so,so, well . Police State, Enough Said.

I would also say they just armed that little four year old for future food wars with her parents. I can hear her now saying to her parents, " Don't make me call the food feds on you two, now get me my nuggets!!" Pun Intended.

It is essential that all developing children consume the necessary ingredients provided by the fast food chains.

The random list below of various global outlets should show you why.

I like your posts, but this is really the Nanny State, and it's fascism. Mussolini coined the term "Totalitarian" for that which is the State micro-managing(read dictating) every aspect of our lives (for our own good). Jonah Goldberg wrote about this in his book, ":Liberal Fascism".

Many here on this site equate the police state with jackboots and military uniforms and billy clubs at Occupy protests. Those same people seem fine with food police controlling lunches for 4 year olds because the State knows best.

It's absolutely true that the State believes people live for the State and not the other way around. While it is true that our Founding Fathers said that the People run the govt,, this concept has been replaced by the Dewey Statist system that all children are in school to learn to be a cog in the wheel of the State and the Collective. It's in Dewey's writings, and his model is what runs the educational system today.

Wow! I'm not a sue-people kinda guy, but I would be suing and raising HELL if this happened to my kid. The lunch the kid had sounds like a fairly healthy lunch, and they decide to force the kid to eat toxic nuggets? Gee, thanks for feeding my child unfermented GMO soy, GMO corn product, TBHQ, and other dangerous ingredients. My first baby is on his way in a few months - when it's time for school, I will be getting it in writing from the school that they won't try to make my child eat anything I didn't send him in with.

By the way, if my child was visiting and there for a week, and he had a healthy snack, the banana, and a tasty snack, the chips would have been an option if I was picking something up on the way to school, or cheesies, because some of them don't contain WHEAT.

My kids eat bananas, at home, but not at school. Everyday, one of them gets his snacks and has the school soup program, which he prefers. One of them has peanut butter and jelly sandwich on plain bread, one has it on special Wheat Free bread, he is allergic to wheat. I have to read labels very carefully. Yeast is in many things too. They have yogurt, juice, and two other treats, usually rice crispy squares and now, chewy fruit type snacks of some kind. That changes around a bit. This is the lunch they prefer, and the peanut and jam is due to them liking it, and my preference to not worry about the mayo going bad on them, and them getting sick, they have been sick nonstop since Fukushima. We live in the rainy west coast.

On other days, the one with the allergies gets his special cereal in a lunch bag with snacks for school instead of a sandwhich.

The peanut butter is pure, no preservatives, just peanuts, and is in a big glass jar, so no poisons.

This isnt a program for children in need, this is a FEDERAL/State official opening childrens lunch boxes or investigating them once they are opened to determin if they have all the FEDERALLY required food groups. Has nothing to do with children in need. Most schools already offer free lunch programs for children in need. This is a program which replaces the 'NoN" nutritious items with "GOVERNMENT APPROVED" nutritious items. The point is that THE GOVERNMENT HAS NOT RIGHT DICTATING to people what they can or cannot have in their lunches. Thats the big issue behind this not that its meant to help people. Look I understand the IDEA.. but i still dont agree with STATE/FED officials dictating to my child what she can eat.. and then charging me for it.

I see that now. And I disagree with the program. I thought it was for kids in need.

Let's see how it turns out. This is clearly not a national program, right? This school is just taking it on itself to do this? If the parents complain enough, which they SHOULD do, the school will have to stop.

Its not the system just one individual who got carried away ....

yeah right ...

You would meet the guidelines the government demanded? Milk? Seriously?

Pasteurized Milk from hormone fed, antibiotic fed cows is disgusting ...

Maybe you should read this article ...

State Inspectors Searching Children’s Lunch Boxes: “This Isn’t China, Is It?”

The mother added, “It’s just a headache to keep arguing and fighting. I’ve even wrote a note to her teachers and said do not give my daughter anything else unless it comes out of her lunchbox and they are still going against me and putting a milk in front of her every day. “Friday she came home and said ‘Mom, they give me vegetable soup and a milk,’” said the mother.

Its not just a one time thing as you make it out to be ...

Edit - Why are you so predictable? Why is it you always defend policies by the Gov't or schools or make sure you follow their "guidelines". Are you not an individual? Can you not think for yourself? Do you always blindly trust and side with authority? From most of the posts I have read by you here on ATS you certainly seem to.

ScaryWorld - it's not right to call someone else out as a troll simply for speaking the truth. All you need to do is look around you for proof that humans are omnivorous. Humans can and do eat and process meat, as well as plant food. If humans were herbivores, it would mean they did not, and could not eat and process meat. It's fine to be a vegetarian, as long as you are one of the few who knows how to get complete nutrition, and you're not poisoning yourself with soy, but don't fool yourself into thinking humans can't eat meat just because it's how you choose to live.

Even the US isn't a nanny state, you have pitiful services. Its a Fascist state alright. I would call it a Nanny fascist state if it was more like Norway for Services, which is a beautiful country, and yet Fascist. Norway however had, and with EU and the recent changes, have no idea what they've allowed to creep in, but they had, one of the best forms of representative democracy on the planet. It was not winner take all politics and no vote was wasted. There are different forms of that too. Austrualia got the worser form. That one makes fewer the numbers of parties or choices, less real people running and less women.

I havn't checked on the recent status, because Europe has been getting really fascist too.

Had to comment.. Loved the optimism of 33%! It made I larf! Chicken nuggets are chicken in name only once they have processed it to oblivion... like BEEF burgers & FISH fingers. They can only keep the name because, at some point, it was what they WERE.. But it is no longer what they are. Chicken - nutrients + chemicals does not a 'chicken nugget' make... It does make a nugget, but the chicken is deceptive..

If this is a private school, how does that change things? Do people really send their kids to private schools to be fed what amounts to over processed junk food? The argument of business owned and private owned is wearing thin too. People assume if you own something its the wild west. I am extremely radical and don't believe in private ownership of needed things to the public. Ie if we use it, and its grown big, it belongs to all of us. Equality!

But then I sort of believe in a really modified venus project, modified into grass roots council run, people power, not the dictatorial version I have so far read, no, good idea but it could be hell if that was under TPTB's thumb, needs to be in the people's hands. So it would be true abundance and freedom with equality.

In other words, here on 3d earth, we're only reaching for the goals, perfection would be always out of reach.

But even if this was a private school, what parent would let them feed their child junkfood. Giving the occasional junk food snack is not equal to providing junk food as the main meal. And those chicken nuggets aren't even real food. Even private corporations have to toe a certain public line.
