After Image Of 'Alien Craft' On Mars, NASA Cuts Mission

Advanced spacesuit technology and other equipment was being put through the paces in a dry run in 2011. It looked like a manned mission to Mars was going to happen soon!

February 9 of this year, there were reports of an "alien craft" spotted on Mars. NASA was quick to say that the object was one of ours. Irene Klotz of Discovery News explained: "It's alien technology -- ours!"

... Within 2 days of that picture, NASA pulled the plug on the Mars mission.

I realize that there's already another thread on the general news of the Mars mission being canned; and I linked it up in the "related threads" sections. But I think this article offers a larger story, with a whole different context.

The article explains that the "official" story is that the budget has been reduced, and the currently active programs already put NASA over-budget.

It also muses that maybe any mission to the red Planet might be picked up by private companies sometime in the future; like maybe SpaceX or Virgin Galactic.

One thing at a time, though. The private companies need to actually have active and ongoing space programs first. But I can see Sir Richard wanting to get tourists to Mars in about 50 years. Wait how old is he? ...

Back to the topic at hand: It IS very interesting that the pic of the alien craft came to light just a few days ago, and now the plug has been pulled on the Mars program. Coincidence?

Some of us don't believe in coincidence.

This is the area the Spirit rover landed, conducted its mission, and eventually went offline. When thy said the alien craft was ours they meant it. And as far as Mars goes, somehing from us is, in fact, alien.

Nothing to see here other than budget cuts, or some political war, or the powers that be finally geting a grip on us needing to fix things here before we go looking around our solar system. Whats the point of launching missions if when they return in 2 years the Earth is a barren nuclear fallout wasteland.

Hopeully its just priorities are finally being realized.

thats the lander just after the rover rolls off.

now if you look at the hq pic, the object looks almost perfectly circular. whilst the lander does not. and the colouration looks wrong to me, even if it did get a covering of mars dust.

I fully believed the lander theory untill I actually saw the lander.
