Then what?

You could do what Sweden does. Free healthcare for everyone. Free education (including university) for everyone. No tax loopholes for the rich.

And generally happier and more secure populations. We on the other hand have the world's largest are force in the USAF ................. we also have the world's second largest air force USNavy.

I don't know if you're aware, but the CURRENT president is a Democrat. A "leftist". Why would they go away? They're in the White House. What the heck are you ranting about?

Yeah and my right elbow is on the left side of my body (well its left of my right hand !!). Honestly you folks in the US really do look at the world through narrow specs don't you. A US Democrat is at best as far left as almost all central European politics. You really haven't a clue what left is.

Left and right are not concepts designed to accurately map ideology. They are weapons, used by the speaker to achieve a given end. The vagueness and internal lack of coherence of "left" and "right" as ideas allow them to be used in a variety of ways. You can use them as a weapon against your opponant, crushing down a nuanced opinion into a soundbite that can be conveniently assigned to the proper mental garbage bin. Or, you can use them to bolster your own opinions.

When words or concepts are used as weapons to a given end rather than tools for the openminded quest for knowledge, we can call them "polemical." The polemical use of terminology is never about discovering the truth. It is about exerting power over others' minds.

When you understand this, you are liberated from thinking solely in terms of "left" and "right". You realize that good ideas come from both sides of the isle, and bad ones too. You have more control over your own political destiny when you don't fall into the left-right trap. When that happens, you are giving somebody else control over the content of your opinions, which means making yourself less free and genuine.

Well I didn't believe the threads about low IQ people having more chance to become conservatives, but I can add the OP in the balance.

Why don't leftist go away? Well because their vision is larger then their own individual.

I know you don't understand this being a conservative thinker but some people actually do things for the community instead of only for themselves or people close to them. Aren't they weird huh?

Too bad your un-evolved brain doesn't really understand that concept.

If you think the people you mentioned do it for control, well you might be right but I think they are mostly mislead and actually want to help general population.

Tell me leftists, when the HELL do you folks shut up?

A better question is why the HELL do you want to shut them up? Is your right to free speech somehow unique? No. That's how this country works. You get to spout all that ignorant nonsense and so do they.

Something that I don't get is this is my second post and I got knocked TWICE, BEFORE replying to this? I don't understand it. Yes- both warnings are for this thread, I could understand it had I posted that many times, but I don't know how I got dinged TWICE for ONE post.

Also, I don't know whats up with stating my opinion, agreeing with the OP I guess that is trolling.

Thanks. PolitiFact does address this quote here:

We called the non-partisan Kaiser Family Foundation, which has posted side-by-side comparisons online of health care plans approved by the House and Senate. Its spokesman, Craig Palosky, reminded us that Congress posts the entire legislation online. Of course, that's not to say the final deal is settled — or, it stands to reason, open to public view. Palosky declined to comment precisely on Pelosi's forecast, saying her comment seemed more about politics than policy. "It’s not our role to police such comments," he said. "If you want to know what members of Congress are doing, you have to speak to members of Congress.” His nudge led us to call U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Lewisville, among a handful of physicians in Congress and an opponent to the Democrats' proposal. Burgess told us it's often true that the ins and outs of legislation aren't widely known until after a measure passes into law; that held true, for instance, for the Republican-steered measure providing government aid toward prescription drugs for seniors.

www.politifact.com...

Maybe the text in bold is what Pelosi was referring to?

Here's a link that quotes her and addresses the quote.
Pelosi: Pass Health Reform Bill So You Can Find Out What's In It

Then, just after saying, "It's going to be very, very exciting," Pelosi gaffed, telling the local elected officials assembled that Congress "[has] to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it, away from the fog of controversy." This is the same Nancy Pelosi who, only weeks earlier, was bragging about the transparency of the process that produced the bill that is currently stalled in Congress. The same Pelosi who brushed aside concerns raised by organizations like Let Freedom Ring!--where I am a senior fellow--that members of Congress actually commit to reading the bill before voting for it and that it be posted online for at least 72 hours before any vote so that the American people can read it, too.

Im sorry, I probably should have added something more concrete than such a long list of possibilities to have to sift through. I think US News might be okay. I'm not familiar with it but I hope it doesn't lean too far either way.

I still can't believe she spoke to the Nation like that

an old old guy told me once that if you give an Idea or what have you, political views count, anyway an idea given to 5 people in a group 1 person will side with your idea 2 people will be sympathetic and 2 people will never agree.

for this reason we see grid lock.

What you describe in your rant is gridlock on political agenda. We constitute our government. I was thinking a little about this this morning

We need a bona fide 3rd party to break up the gridlock in our government. Not green party not tea party but maybe a legitimate libertarian party because it identifies with both liberal and conservative idealism

all of this is my opinion which only one of you will agree

Hate to break it to you but us "dirty little leftists" are gonna be your last hope when it comes down to it. Or maybe not if you keep spouting such vitriolic, testosterone-driven rhetoric. I think the lines have become quite blurry for you as none of the examples that you gave actually belong where you say they do on the political spectrum. Also, I've always thought of the political spectrum as sort of a "good cop-bad cop" routine to get the policies they want enacted put through house. You need to check your compass, sir as you are headed straight where they want you, which is not where you want to be, trust me. Wake the hell up and smell the bull# already.
