She was not hiding anything the Texass Republicans she was talking about could have read the bill though they claimed it was too long so it was too hard to read. She was saying the when the bill passed -- such things as your children will never have to understand the phrase "pre existing condition" et al

In my country we have even today communist party in our government, also social democrats, greens, christian party and prime minister is from right wing party. Communists are minority and have very tiny influence. But they can have their word in minor issues.

I believe about 1,000 pages. I read a 1200-page book in a weekend once . For something that is extremely important to their constituents, don't you think they could have devoted 3-4 days to reading it (if they had the IQ to do it, that is)?

You know - if you are a legislator -- someone who writes and makes law. YOUR JOB is to read bills -- and if that is too hard for you then perhaps you are in over your head. I have manuals that are well over a thousand pages on the installation and and configuration of a router. I have helped a pilot study the systems in a 757/67 The operational manuals for that aircraft span about 3 feet. People actually do read and understand long technical works because it is their frigging job and they are professionals.

The healthcare bill a very important bill with all kinds of moving parts was just a couple of thousand pages. Not as many as required to configure a router or way way way less that what a pilot studies for a complex aircraft. Is it really so much to ask that a republican actually read rather than whine.

You do know that education and environment are other departments. And any country that has healthcare - does have agencies for education and environment. The world is a big place and people have some very successful social programs -- we are, on the other hand being compared with the third world.
