Maybe it already has. How do we know that the mark isn't an idea planted in our heads. For all we know capitalism is the "beast" that is leading us into damnation.

It seems that our human nature damns most of us regardless. The only difference is that with capitalism, we have the choice to damn ourselves. With ideologies such as socialism, fascism, communism, etc. we allow a trusted few abitious power-hungry sociopaths to damn us.

APOLOGY: If you belong to the Church we are about to discuss, please allow me to apologize up front for what may hurt or offend you. We very much love people from all denominations and have no vendetta against any Church as this would be contrary to Christian teaching, but this truth has to be preached. If it were not in God's Word we would be silent about it, but it is Bible truth and the truth of who is the antichrist must be revealed or many will perish in the end times.

You can't really "defend" any idea on the internet because it makes just as much sense to you as their idea makes to them, and nothing's really gonna change that. I'm just providing my input on the topic of this thread, the mark of the beast from the book of revelations.

And this is about as concrete, relevent, and makes about as much sense as your first post. Which is none. I have no idea what you are trying to say.

EDIT: I think i see that you're trying to say that the bad guy of revelations is somehow the catholic church. It seems like you're just referencing some conspiracy article. I think this thread is meant for our personal perspectives on the mark of the beast...

We are all entitled to our own beliefs and I'm just showing my opinion on the truth. It's up to you if you don't want to believe.

While I really only interested in whether or not it would bother non-Christians to take a mark...

Again, its just not about taking the mark. Theres also the worship factor involved. i.e - Mark + worship of the beast.

If a global mark system to buy and sell was implemented, then imagine a poor Godfearing family of 5 living in a third world #hole. They take the mark out of desperation only to have something to eat. Will God send them all to hell, even if they did not "worship" whoever offered them the mark?

What if they refused the mark and went without food causing the deaths of their children, perhaps even infants. Will God send the adults of the family to hell for causing their deaths?

That would make the oppressed peoples of those system victims. While we in the free world are encouraged to be selfish and greedy. To be unhospitable and uncaring towards others. Yes we have the choice, but how many of us make the right choice? A short while ago, for kicks, I looked up a list of American saints. I only found that 13 people have been beautified from the United States since 1930.That is a somewhat biased view since the Roman Catholics don't grant people outside of thier church saint-hood. We do have good people in my country, but it seems that the ones who make a differance on a global or even national scale are assassinated and live on in legend while the former drug-dealers turned rappers, drug-addict rockstars, permiscuous starlets and crooked politicians are celebrated by the masses. To get back on topic I am not a religious person, nor an athiest, but I do believe that every story has at least a grain of truth in it. If anyone tried to put a mark on me without my consent I would defend myself. If it were my own government.... well, that day me and the jihadists might have more in common than I thaught.

I always found that whole "Black and White" judgement in the bible funny. Those that get the mark are "Bad", And those without it are all "Good". No exceptions. /Sarcasm

Really, though. The bible explains this and many other things in a very confusing, easily misconstrued way. It will be forever unclear, and debated over.. Bottom line, If "God" was to really consider things so Black and White as that, as to forgo using his ability to see into the hearts of men, and there be no humble, mortal man to dissuade him, Then he's/she's/It's no god of mine.

If he cannot, or will not look into the souls of his so-called creation and know that most of their intentions were simply to maintain living and not to worship his ex-favorite, now banished, fallen angel beast.... thing. Well, then, I wouldn't wish to be apart of his "Kingdom" anyway. At least I'll get to buy several orders of Crab Rangoon before the fire and brimstone. I do so hope I'll get to eat them.

Do you know what 'tribulation' even means?

There are people on this planet, past, present, and future, that have spent/are spending/will spend their WHOLE LIVES in tribulation for however long those lives last.

Do you know how many 8 year old girls and boys, CHILDREN, get SOLD into prostitution, by their own destitute and poor families, and are performing that job from day one for the rest of their lives, every year?
Do you know how prevalent slavery is around the planet?

Tribulations are happening NOW, and have ALWAYS been happening.

7 years? Bring it. Does it come with fries?

Take a mark, physical or metaphorical and these people can eat? Oh yeah. Anyway I can get more than one mark? What's the limit?

Thing is, from the perspective of those that don't believe in the Christian Mythology, it's all fairy land bogus bunk.

The roots of Hinduism can be traced back near 8000 years, and the gods are much cooler. Why would any Hindu want to take some puffed up self important abusive Christian banana in the tailpipe nonsense?

Why would an Atheist care about the Christian fear mongering? Bad stuff is happening NOW. Bad stuff has always happened? peh.

Mystery Babylon is Jerusalem. And all churches are watered down Catholicism. They use Catholic scriptures and believe in traditions like resurrection and trinity.

Dear nineix,

I did not say that people would get food or money if they took the mark, in my hypothetical I said that you would not be allowed to buy or sell without it. Also I aimed the question at non-believers because I am interested in if people would allow their government require them to take a mark, I could have asked about taking an RFID chip; but, an invisible mark that merely authenticates who you are I am assuming would feel less annoying to people.

There are many non-Christians that would refuse to be tattooed to chipped, many would use a gun. I man I know who is not a believer recently moved to the woods of Wyoming because he fears a economic meltdown. I also know, as stated in my OP, that many people who call themselves Christians would also take a mark.

Let me be clear on something, I am a Christian, I don't believe the RFID chip is the Mark of the Beast and I still would not take one because I would find it personally offensive to be tagged or tattoed by my government. My question for non-Christians is the same, if you don't believe in Revelations, would you allow your government to force you to take an invisible tattoo in order to buy and sell. It is not a religious question and that is why I wasn't sure if I should post it in this forum; but, I knew that it would result in people bringing up religion so I posted it here. Peace.

I know what the book says, I am not asking that. I am asking people who don't believe the book if they would accept a mark being forced on them by the government as identification required to have financial transactions. As I said to another, I don't believe the RFID chip is the mark of the beast and I still wouldn't take it because I think it is wrong for the government to tag or tattoo us. I also didn't say anyone was going to hell, please, read my OP again. It is not just Christians that would refuse such Draconian measures and I am interested in who else would refuse, there are many reasons to refuse aside from being a Christian. Peace.

Always wondered why the christian god or satan needed a "mark" to tell who is who, never made much sense to me.

Dear mileysubet,

I never assumed that God or Satan needed the mark personally. To me it was always about making a choice, selling out if you will. Actually, a non-believer taking a mark is easier to understand than a believer taking the mark. Yet, if you read through the thread you will find that at least one person who said they were a Christian also said they would take the mark and that is knowing what it is.

Lets look at this a different way and again, lets stay away from religion. If your government required you to let them implant an RFID chip or accept an invisible tattoo in order to make financial transactions, which would you choose or would you refuse both? I assumed that some non-Christians would refuse because they don't wish to be tagged or tattooed by their government.

I would have posted this in a technology or general conspiracy forum; but, I am known on this site be a Christian and also knew that people would go to Revelations so I posted it here; but, I am really only interested in the non-Christian thinking on taking a mark for reasons other than religious beliefs and I believe there are many non-Christians that would refuse because they found it offensive.

While there are many threads and articles out there about the RFID chip, I think most people would accept one if they thought they "had to", same for an invisible mark. Aside from being a Christian, I also follow technology news and political news and all sorts of news. As I have been following technology I have seen that this is now possible and that there are those who want to go in this direction. India is currently taking the biometrics of all of it's 1.2 billion people, biometric tracking is not a mark; but, it is still pretty scary. I also follow a website on Electronic Privacy, there are a lot of things going on regarding tracking our actions and even our thoughts. I discuss these things with co-workers who don't even know I am a Christian because privacy matters and personal rights matter. Just trying to help you to understand where I am coming from, not trying to convince anyone of anything. Peace.

Im a strong non believer, personally I think all organised religion is a tool used to control the masses.

If it ever came about that we did require a chip or barcode in the place of money...... well that would probably be the only thing I can think of that would make me a believer that there is some truth to the bible.

I wouldnt accept it and would strongly urge everyone I know to reject it as well

I've always believed there to be one obovious mark of the beast. A symbol that rallies millions to worship, to hate, to judge, to condemn, to "follow or die", to burn, to drown, to murder, to cast out.
A symbol that is near and dear to so many that they openly wear it with pride. A symbol that was born out of a lie, that doesn't even appear in the bible, but people believe the lie because they have been consumed its evil ideology. A simple symbol, much like the Nazi swastika, which once had a positive meaning, but has been perverted by the gluttonous, lustful, wrathful, slothful, greedful, envious, and prideful people who wear this symbol for all to see.

I look at the Bible as a historical document recorded by people who turned to a God when no other explanation was at hand. I think the mark of the beast mentioned in Revelation is Nero. I think the monetary mark of the beast of the current times is the credit score but I do just fine with a bad score. If the credit score number ever becomes mandatory for the buy and sell of necessities such as food, then I know freedom is all over.
