Cave paintings found in Guanajuato, Mexico

I'm always fascinated by primative art. There are countless stories to be told from paintings such as these. They can tell us what their culture was like, the animals they hunted, and the beliefs they held. These are great examples of early painting by our ancestors.

Archaeologists from the National Institute of Archaeology and History have discovered nearly 3,000 cave paintings in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato. The paintings were found between August and October 2011 in 40 sites and are believed to be 2,000 years old. The pictographs were made with black, red, and yellow colors and show rituals, hunting, and battle scenes. Archaeologist Carlos Viramontes, director of the project that unearthed the paintings said, "A great diversity of animals is also to be seen, chiefly deer, canines, insects like centipedes and spiders, a great variety of birds, generally with their wings outspread, and radiating circles that probably represent the sun.”

Sources at the institute said that the discoveries were made between August and October 2011, but were not announced until specialists confirmed their antiquity and completed their analyses

It added that the oldest images refer to rites of passage, healing, prayers for rain and mountain worship, and were created by ancient hunter-gatherer societies that occupied the area during the first centuries A.D.

The expert said that the ancient hunter-gatherers who “created images on rockfaces were doing more than just leaving an imprint of their collective memory of historic, climatic and ritual occurrences – they painted the exposed fronts and sheltered backs of boulders as points of contact between the material and spiritual world.”

The sun symbol in the above picture is very interesting. I see alot of similarity in this art to several other primative paintings.

This is a really interesting find. I was watching the video called "Symbols of an alien sky" and in the video they talk about the person with two dots on either side. The last picture in your OP has that same figure and I guess they found that same example from all over the world. In the video they compare the figure with some sort of plasma discharge.

Go to 6 min 50 sec mark. It shows all the different cultures from all over the world that have drawn the same figure.

Thank you for posting that video. I'm firmly believe that this type of painting has a very important meaning. Our ancestors witnessed many things that they expressed thru their art. It is something that too many people brush off as nothing, but IMO they were documenting the things that effected them, and there is evidence from around the world that shows that there is something special to be learned from their art.

I feel the same way. The video mentions that the drawings changed at some point in history and it makes me wonder why and what they saw that made that happen. Also like the poster above this post said I wish we can get in their mind and find out what made them draw these things. They had to have seen the same things because how else would they all draw similar figures.

That's it, 2000 years old? I would have guessed they were prehistoric. So basically the Egyptians, Romans and Greeks were building monumental palaces, tombs, sculpture, art and cities while in Mexico they were scribbling stick figures in caves. Hmmmm.

Very nice thread, but I must say these guys weren't very creative. Lots of rigid straight lines, a step up from stick drawings. Where is the stone age Picasso? The stuff from Spain, not shown here, is extremely good, kind of like a cave people renaissance. On one level this is more like native graffiti.

It's amazing how the ink stays so dark even after all these years. The red ink barely faded. My belief is that people from that era weren't as primitive as they have been made out to be.

well the drawings they did sure look primitive unless they were just letting the kids finger paint!

i googled anthony peratt and found this paper:

very interesting find...

it seems to say something about how the human body IS a high intensity plasma/electrical discharge.

the two "dots" on either side of these figures seem to represent a toroidal (TORUS) energy field that's created during a discharge....and the top and bottom of the figures are the north/south poles of a larger torus which encompasses the smaller torus around the midsection. concentric toroids, one within the other. as the outer toroid grows, more "dots"/toroids appear in the interior, concentrically.

these glyphs seem to show concentric toroid fields...the top "champagne glass" and the bottom "bell" actually increase their distance from one another, and the "dots" turn into a full torus which lies midway between the "top" and "bottom"...

as the top and bottom keep increasing their distance and thus increase the over-all size (of the outer torus; our body/earth/solar system/galaxy), many more toroids manifest between them.

you can imagine the top and bottom to be attached by a string...and the toroids that manifest as the top and bottom become further apart all have that string slipped through their center holes...like a wedding ring on a finger: the finger being the "string" connecting the top and bottom, and the wedding ring being the toroids or "dots" in the glyphs.

and in that article what i'm seeing are many diagrams showing MULTIPLE toroids between the two terminal points...

what i see in that is CHAKRAS. the stacking of toroids between terminal points seems exactly like chakra placement between terminal points (head and tailbone).

also, these ideas bring to the forefront: "as above, so below" "^--- father sky and mother earth---v"

the earth is the mother, UNDER OUR FEET, and the sky is our father: OVER OUR HEADS. WE are the lightning rod that connects the TOP from the BOTTOM.

a nice little piece of esoteric knowledge that fits here:

the throne of isis & the pythagorean triple 3 4 & 5.

a pythagorean triple triangle has three sides, which are units 3, 4 and 5.

draw this triangle with side 4 horizontal. 4 is the number of Earth. earth elements (earth, air, water, fire) also the directions (north south east west). at a right angle to side 4 is 3. esoteric knowledges says 3 is the sign of spirit. (holy trinity). 5 is the hypotenuse, the diagonal side, and is the side of Man. (the five pointed pentagram has long been associated with the human form).

sides 3 and 4 (spirit and matter/earth) meet at a 90 degree angle which is a perpendicular angle. you could also interpret this to mean that matter is perpendicular to spirit, and they cannot co-exist because they are too out-of-phase and can't agree on a velocity vector. (90 phase differences are very important, research for your self)

but side 5 (Man) connects 3 & 4 (spirit & matter), with Earth at our feet and spirit at our heads.

i don't even know where to go from here but my intuition tells me i'm on to something...

I see a DNA strand...and early eye of horus pre egyption ......a Face that almost looks like a lizard but the dots on side are the eyes.


It's all symbols that mean something to a specific person of people who to us are lost in time......

Whoever made those was trying to tell somebody something.

You're right....this is more than just grafitti. They were trying to convey something important. I wish I had more pictures of these paintings, but I haven't found any others yet.

i have too many things going through my head right now to dedicate time to this subject, but i plan on revisiting it in the future..

basically i'm seeing connections (thanks to anthony peratt's work) between the metaphysical design (including chakras and the torus) of the human body (or any body, really) and the design of these "discharges".

simply, i'm seeing that we (our bodies) are a discharge between the Earth and the Sky. our feet ground us to the Earth and our heads are in the Clouds. one end of our discharge is clearly attached to the Earth, the other end is attached to the sky/spirit (sky = clouds/higher planes/the spirit world).


(math in parenthesis is numerology, A = 1, B = 2 etc.)
