I heard that the sources are stating now, that multiple warheads were fired.

I think this says it all...........Do you have more to add to this statement?

Sources being.. who? What?

On ATS, unproven claims provided by anonymous sources are right approximately 0% of the time. Seen it dozens of times, it never comes to fruition.

If by any chance they do launch a nuclear warhead, will there be any effects seen on earth? I'm pretty skeptical about all of this being true.

It's against international law to detonate nuclear devices in space. If the US were to do it, all nations would have to be on board.

Um.. no. I'm a computer specialist working for an environmental firm. Nice guess tho.

I think military police have better things to do than muck around on a conspiracy site. So you are saying you DO have a source? Give us a bit of info on the source then. Position.. why they know.. etc.

How does ti go along with the tests? This is another thing that dumb founds me. The tests are a whole day AFTER the asteroid passes. If it's suppose to make it's closest approach/impact today, tests tomorrow seem rather pointless.

2005 was several years ago. More than enough time to plan and execute a plan way before the day of approach. People on here are far too absurd for their own good.

If they were to fire a warhead at the YU55, wonder what type, and why? Do they want to put some spin on the Asteriod so next time it comes by the Earth, it will pass right by or worse it smashes straight into earth.

Not quite.
There are two close approaches. The first is in just over an hour - events.slooh.com...

the second, closer, is tomorrow.....

What is the 2nd asteroid to pass us? Or are you trying to say Yu55 is back tracking for a 2nd peak at Earth?

Not a rocket engineer here, but I would think that since it is supposed to miss it would be much easier to catch it than to try to hit it head on after it passes to render it a non threat in years to come....that and if it is past and breaks up there is a lot less chance of any pieces hitting earth as well...much smarter to hit it after it passes as long as they are sure it will pass.

well with the amount of "Con Trials" in the sky right now it may be a bit hard to determine what is a rocket stage exhaust
