I am not a big fan of these occupy movements, but I do believe in people having a right to protest.

I do find the title of your thread a little disturbing, because there is no crime in the OWS movment itself. How about changing your title to reflect the crimes of individuals involved in the movement instead of making the movment itself look like a crime?

Dam nice collection. Good work.

Could you now be NON-Partisan and put us the TEA Party Crimes? I'll wait... thank you (shouldn't take but a second

And, this is just the stuff we know about. Funny how the stories of the kids getting their $5000.00 laptops and Iphones etc have dropped off.

How about you read some of the articles and find out just how much crime is taking place in OWS. Also, there are plenty of sources here depicting the COVER UPS of crimes in OWS.

Don't hold your breath.

I'm sure if I dug really hard I could find one or two bad incidents.

But not anything to the scale we see coming from OWS.

so that means with your logic... that ALL tea partiers are unstable, gun toting criminals bent on killing everyone they view as a threat...since Jared Loughner has ties to the tea party.

painting an entire movement of 10s of thousands, worldwide, because of a couple of handfuls of criminals is the blind leading the naked.

Jared Loughner has NO ties to the Tea Party AT ALL.

The Tea Party was blamed for his actions, however, by an overzealous left wing media. Before the bodies were even cold as a matter of fact.

Jared Loughner's hate came before the Tea Party

[T]wo law enforcement sources said that FBI agents had found a 2007 letter from Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) to the shooting suspect, with the words "Die, bitch" and "Die, cops" scrawled on it. The letter, which thanked [Jared] Loughner for attending an event of hers, was found in a safe in his Tuscon home, the sources said.

In 2007, there was no Tea Party movement and Sarah Palin was the obscure, recently elected governor of Alaska. If anything, the overhead heated political rhetoric at the time was coming from the left and was directed largely at President George W. Bush.

Did you see the OP? That is by no means a comprehensive list either. It's gone way beyond "a handful".

That is indicative of America as a whole. If you count only adults, one in 100 Americans is currently incarcerated. So I don't know how anyone expects thousands of people to gather anywhere without a few criminals appearing.

I don't know the current numbers but I bet the people on probation or parole is many times more than the current prison population. Even if it was only double that would mean 3% of Americans are criminals. (So if 1,000 Occupiers show up You could expect 30 of them to be Criminals.)

Your post does nothing but prove that the Occupiers are representative of the 99% as a WHOLE (criminals and all)

There is no clear, single purpose for all the OWS type demonstrations. I saw 10 people interviewed and asked what OWS was about. They gave 9 different answers. A large demonstration without uniformity of purpose is a mob or riot. The LA riots had more commonality of purpose than OWS.

OWS has become nothing more than an excuse for bad behavior. Ironically, most of those protestors, in New York, who say they are protesting against bankers VOTED for the president that GAVE them all that money and they'll vote for him again...

That's not even a quarter of what I pulled up in my search to come up with this list. Not even an eight.

I don't doubt there is crime taking place at these movments. There is no question about that because there are a lot of INDIVIDUALS gathered at these events.

So, once again, while crime is happening, and should be expected because of the amount of people gathered, there is no reason for you to imply the movement in itself is a crime.

I hate to break it to you but crime happens everywhere, every day, and every second. Occupy movment or not!

I think they want a civil war where us good guys
have to take the street back and get rid of this comminist scum!!

Actions speak louder then words and the actions
of the occu pie crowd have shown they can not
hold a meaningful and non-violent protests.

These occu pie supporters can not say *one or two* people
do not define the movement. Well were NOT talking one or two
people, proof is in the occu pie look at OP's well versed evidence.

The whole occu pie movement is either hateful, violent, communism/socialism.

There is NO GOOD in the occu pie movement...

They might just get there wish though in creating a class war or civil
war but when WE TAKE BACK the streets there going to be sent home
crying like babies, take heed, the good people in America can only take so much!!

And yet the movement itself is repeatedly reported as covering up crimes, rioting, vandalizing.

Sure, they are all individuals...But with a common purpose.

Jared Loughner WAS A DEMOCRAT... He VOTED for the woman he shot! And he did it because she wasn't liberal enough for him... He even worked for her campaign! How can so many people not know this???

Because they bought the left wing BS that got ahead of the story before the bodies had even turned cold.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

One question.

How much of what you linked and of what exists in the regular media; has been either fabricated or blown out of proportion in order to satisfy the anti-ows movement?

My support for the agenda of OWS and those big name involved is certainly diminishing by the day, but IMO labelling all of those protests and efforts for things to change, in the manner than some have, in this thread and elsewhere, is just plain irresponsible, silly and ignorant.

Not 100% of any group is bad, not even 50% usually.

Then again, the goal was always to fight each other, while the people who make decisions do them behind closed doors, without visibility. Seems they are winning as of late.

~Keeper

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Why is this the fall back of any criticism of OWS?

Typical.

If a woman was raped at OWS and she told the cops and the media...I supposed she was lying about it then?

correlation does not equal causality.

crime is everywhere. OWS did not birth crime.

people with freckles have committed crimes therefore all people with freckles are criminals...your logic is fail

Sure didn't.

But it does seem to foster it.

Must be that gimme, handout mentality.
