Obama is trying to marginalize the Tea Party by comparing it to "his" OWS movement.

Trust a community organizer to manipulate the message and intent.

Good job, Neo.

No one's arguing OWS is the Tea Party...so not sure what the point of this thread is. At least OWS hasn't sold out to crooks like the Koch brothers

OWS probably wouldn't cheer either when someone talks about fellow citizens dying. So yeah, those 2 movements aren't the same. But of course the TP has more flags, and we all know that counts for more than ethics or morals

The tea party is just a name change of former right wing republican groups, it was once called the moral majority, the christian coalition, same political ideology with a name change to shield them from the last conservative right wing administration and there wonderful job they did with the economy.

The OWS is gaining in popularity while the tea party is plummeting in the polls polls, even Obama has a higher favorable opinion than the tea party. The tea party represents big business (koch brothers, anti union), and hoodwinked people in believing in it based on there morals and values (anti abortion, anti immigration, anti homosexual) agenda. Oh then they wanna say there pro freedom, I guess as long as they comply with the party line and religious elements of there quickly fading movement.

The OWS is a worldwide movement reflecting a greater group of citizenry, sick of the corruption and unfair playing field that caters to the wealthy. This is the difference I see with these two movement, one side is on the 99% side the other is for the 1%. The only noise I hear coming from the tea party is from established republican right wing talking heads.

Why left-wing protestors tend to riot

Its so obvious that its the unrefined and adolescent mind that falls for left-wing ideology.

Maybe?

Funny how the Tea Party first formed to protest those bailouts...until they were bought buy Wall Street and corporate America (aka Koch brothers). Nowadays, they completely left their initial ideals behind and just repeat whatever talking point people like Palin shove down their throats.

At least OWS took over where the TP miserably failed

Tea Party formed to protest the baillouts, the socialist rhetoric of Obama and his groupies, and everything else obama stands for. Tea Party opposes Obamas socialist and eugenic czars, the communist sympathizers talking about "green jobs" but stand for pillaging industry to "save the planet", socialist health care, etc.
If many Tea Partiers are like you, I can see why they don't get as much support. Sorry, but you can't just throw the word socialist/communist around and expect people to get behind that.

They also cheered on electrocuting people by the hands of Perry, pathetic idiots.

Plus, a good lot of them depend on Medicare and Social Security.

he's full of ##SNIP##. he's actually the only man in america that can actually do something about it, yet does nothing.

if he went against wallstreet, his campaign contributions will crash faster than the stock market.

no more $52 million dollar months, and $750 million campaign funds.

money talks and wallstreet has all the money.

Still on the fence with the Tea Party, although Its purpose of non-violent,non-aggression getting politicians to hear their voice is spot on. Go to DC,not Wall Street is the way to go.

Why do you keep on repeating this nonsense when it's clear that politicians are mere sock puppets of Wall Street? Do you prefer talking to puppets instead of facing the puppet master? Really?

Is eating the "rich" on Wall Street going to solve your problem? Redistribution of wealth ? Do you think you could actually redistribute ? Do you think peoples greed wouldn't stop ? How bout those who have nothing? You think their greed and anger is going to stop at "just enough"? Sorry,I dont. I posted a video, which you didnt even watch or comment on. It shows these kids with signs,"Honk if you have a student loan". Is that Wall Street? When asked with pertinent questions, they have NO ANSWERS. Get it? When given real logical questions, they fumble the right answers away. No,this movement is NOTHING like the Tea Party. Lets stay on topic, shall we?

I'm tired of all this "dirty hippie" "socialist" "eat the rich" propaganda.

As a businessman and OWS supporter; I don't want to eat the rich or redistribute the wealth. I just want to see the corrupt corporate influence and lobbying stop. They influence legislation in THEIR favor against the small business owner and working man and American taxpayers in general. This is what most of what the protesters want and all the "commie" "socialist" BS is exactly that....BS.

And as a Taxpaying, Veteran, Patriotic American entrepreneur, I have a constitutional right to free speech and to air my grievances against the government anyway I see fit as long as it's lawful. But it's the corporate GOP fascist water carriers that want to infringe on my free speech because it doesn't fit in with their constipated view of the world.

What is the desired goal of this movement?
With SO many voices,I would like to get your input,on how these goals are going to manifest in this change you want. Where and how will these changes take place?

Thanks.

Just unhappy 'Americans', taking to the streets.. carrying signs... nothing more.

Allowing TV/media/political personalities to re-define & shape them into anything else is 1 reason it's called television "programming"... a divide & conquer tactic to be ignored.

Christ, I can't speak for the whole movement. It is as diverse as the TPM claims to be.
and to paint the whole movement because of a few stupid yahoos; is itself quite stupid.

But I would imagine the change will manifest in the ballot box with all Americans voting their conscience; at least locally. National elections are favored if not actually decided by obscenely wealthy men playing golf in polo shirts in Southern California. But perhaps if they see the will of the people in the street; they might be influenced a little bit to temper their greed and corruption. That's the message.

The status quo always hates change.
