Four Americans killed in Resistance attack on fuel tankers west of Baghdad Thursday morning. Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US column on Thursday morning west of Baghdad on the road to Abu Ghurayb, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The attack, which occurred at exactly 10:00am, destroyed two fuel tank trucks destroyed and killed four American soldiers who had been aboard the vehicles.

Two US soldiers killed in Resistance bombing in al-Qaim.

Three Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded next to a US patrol in the city of al-Qaim on the border with Syria, according to a Thursday afternoon report from the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. One of the bombs exploded towards the rear of the American column of footsoldiers and killed two of them.

Second bombing in al-Qaim Thursday kills three US troops.

According to the local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, at least three American soldiers were killed on Thursday when an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded as their foot patrol was passing near the gasoline station located across from the customs post in al-Qaim on the border with Syria. The blast followed the earlier bombing that killed two other American troops in the same city.

Resistance shells green zone in Baghdad Thursday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces struck the US occupation headquarters in Baghdad the so-called green zone two powerful Grad rockets at precisely 9:00am Thursday. Sirens wailed in the heavily guarded compound after the attacks. Black smoke rose over the area, indicating that US vehicles or other targets had been hit.

The Iraqi Republican Palace compound, occupied by the Americans and dubbed by them the green zone, houses the headquarters of the US occupation, the massive American and British embassies, and the offices of the Iraqi puppet regime they maintain in the occupied country. Although it enjoys the tightest security of any location in the country it is virtually a daily target of Resistance rocket and mortar bombardments.

Eight American troops killed in Resistance ambush of US patrol guarding the highway to Abu Ghurayb.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked an American aggressor patrol guarding the highway to the Abu Ghurayb area on Thursday evening. The local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that immediately after the rocket-propelled grenade assault by the Resistance, a gun battle broke out between them and the US forces. In the course of the fighting one US armored vehicle and a Humvee were destroyed.

A source in the puppet police of Abu Ghurayb told the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam that eight US soldiers were killed in the Resistance attack three of them aboard the Humvee and five in the armored vehicle.

Resistance pounds US base near Baqubah.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at about 7:30 Thursday morning Iraqi Resistance forces fired mortar shells at the US base west of the city of Baqubah. The correspondent writes that the area is one where members of Saddams Fedayeen organization are heavily deployed. There was no immediate word on the extent of possible US losses as a result of the attack.

Resistance bombards US base south of Baghdad.

Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a violent barrage on the US as-Suqur (Hawks) camp located south of Baghdad and north of al-Yusufiyah on the al-Mahmudiyah highway. A Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Thursday afternoon that more than 20 mortar shells and five Katyusha rockets slmamed into the American base.

US admits one American soldier killed in Baghdad Wednesday night.

The US military admitted Thursday that an American aggressor soldier in Baghdad was killed by a mortar attack the night before.

Resistance hits eight oil pipelines in southern Iraq.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported Thursday that Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked about 20 oil pipelines in southern Iraq late Wednesday, reducing exports from the key oil producing region by at least a half, according to an official with the state-run South Oil Company who wished to remain anonymous.

Earlier, Reuters quoted another anonymous official in the oil bureaucracy installed in Iraq by the US occupation as saying that Resistance forces attacked eight oil pipelines that link the vast southern oil fields of ar-Rumaylah with a pumping station near the city of al-Basrah, Reuters reported.

Jaysh al-Mahdi still holding firm in an-Najaf despite US offensive.

Despite a ferocious US offensive on their positions, the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia defending an-Najaf was still holding together late Thursday afternoon according to reports reaching Mafkarat al-Islam. The Jaysh al-Mahdi has been fighting fiercely despite an overwhelming sense that the impending visit by the US-inclined Shii religious authority Ali as-Sistani to the city will bring dire consequences for them.

Just days before as-Sistanis arrival on his return from Britain where he was reportedly undergoing medical treatment the US bombardment and bombing escalated sharply in their intensity, and American troops accompanied by Iraqi puppet and collaborationist forces, began a drive on the ground to try to eliminate the Jaysh al-Mahdi Resistance.

According to the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, the Jaysh al-Mahdi forces fear that the pro-American Shii authority as-Sistani will issue a fatwa (Islamic religious opinion) that prohibits fighting the Americans and proclaims anyone who violates such a ban to be an infidel. Such a ruling would sow confusion among Shii believers who are a main source of support for the Jaysh al-Mahdi.

As-Sistani supporters open talks with Muqtada as-Sadr partisans.

As tension and apprehension grew in an-Najaf, talks were reportedly opened on Thursday between representatives of Shii religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr and those of Shii religious suthority Ali as-Sistani.

Agence France Presse (AFP) reported Hamid al-Khaffaf, a spokesman for the pro-American as-Sistani, as saying that the negotiations are aimed at saving an-Najaf from destruction. He said that contacts with Muqtada as-Sadrs supporters had been established and that they hoped to reach some sort of agreement in coming hours.

Ali as-Sistani arrived in an-Najaf after noon on Thursday in a 30-vehicle convoy amidst a throng of his supporters after announcing a plan to bring peace to the city. A 24-hour cease-fire, earlier proclaimed by the US-appointed puppet so-called prime minister Iyyad Allawi (and announced by US Rear-Admiral Gregory J. Slavonic), came into force after as-Sistanis entry into the city.

Despite the cease-fire, the American Associcated Press (AP) reported that while heavy fighting in an-Najaf appeared to ease after as-Sistanis arrival, sporadic gunfire still echoed. As-Sadr fighters and Iraqi puppet security forces traded fire several hundred yards from as-Sistani's house, wounding at least three people. Hours later, gunbattles and an explosion could be heard again in the Old City.

The AP reported that a spokesman for Muqtada as-Sadr, Ahmad ash-Shaybani, said he expected direct talks to begin later in the day.

US forces have been battling the Jaysh al-Mahdi for control of the Shii shrine area and old city of an-Najaf since 5 August.

News reports coming from an-Najaf indicated on Thursday night that representatives of Muqtada as-Sadr and Ali as-Sistani appeared to be close to an agreement in the talks they have been carrying on since mid-day Thursday. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam revealed that differences remained over secure passage for the departure of the Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen from the area of the shrines in the as-Sahn al-Haydari area. Muqtada as-Sadr and his supporters suspect an ambush or some other plot by US forces, particularly since the US-installed Iraqi government had suddenly gone back on the last cease-fire concluded in the city.

Otherwise, in a report posted at 9:50pm Mecca time, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in an-Najaf wrote that an intense calm had settled over the city after weeks of intense fighting. Not even voices could be heard at 10:30pm (an-Najaf time; the equivalent of 9:30pm Mecca time). The old city, where US snipers occupy rooftops ready to shoot anything that moves, appeared virtually dead.

Nevertheless, the US troops despite the massive use of air strikes and illegal weapons were unable to make any substantial advances towards the area of the shrines before fighting came to a halt in the early afternoon, upon the arrival of pro-US Shii authority Ali as-Sistani in the city. The Americans were only able to score some advances in the area of the old city.

Dozens killed and wounded in mortar attack on al-Kufah mosque Thursday morning.

Two mortar shells slammed into the area of the main mosque in the city of al-Kufah on Thursday morning, killing at least 25 and wounding some 60 other people according to an early report by Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Kazim of the Middle Euphrates Hospital Emergency Department in the city.

Later a source in the same hospital raised the toll to 74 dead and 376 injured, but the puppet so-called ministry of health said that those figures were a cumulative total of the number of persons killed in the mosque shelling as well as in shooting incidents in which peaceful marchers were targeted.

Supporters of Muqtada as-Sadr, gathered at the time in the mosque for a march to an-Najaf, blamed the US for the attack. A US propaganda mouthpiece denied any involvement with the explosions or with later attacks on marchers.

The first mortar shell exploded near the entrance to the al-Kufah Mosque and the second inside the mosque itself, according to Agence France Presse (AFP).

The city of al-Kufah is close to an-Najaf, scene of a massive US offensive against Jaysh al-Mahdi Resistance. Shii religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr, to whom the resisting Jaysh al-Mahdi is loyal, has regularly delivered his Friday sermons in the main mosque in al-Kufah.

The American Associated Press (AP) said that it was unknown who had opened fire on the mosque and on the demonstrations, but admitted that Iraqi puppet police have shot at peaceful marchers several times in the past few days.

Pro-Muqtada as-Sadr marchers come under armed attack in al-Kufah.

Eyewitnesses reported on Thursday morning that after the mortar attack on the al-Kufah mosque, when marchers who support Shii religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr began a march from al-Kufah to an-Najaf their demonstration came under armed attack and that several of the protesters were wounded. Reuters reported that wounded marchers fell on the road but that ambulances raced to pick them up.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported that thousands of demonstrators loyal to as-Sadr marched on nearby an-Najaf but came under fire from a base between the two cities housing Iraqi puppet so-called national guardsmen and US troops, witnesses said.

Muqtada as-Sadr had called on his supporters to march towards an-Najaf on Thursday to support the Jaysh al-Mahdi in its resistance to the US aggression. His call rivaled that of US-inclined Shii religious authority Ali as-Sistani, who seeks accommodation with the Americans, for marches against the fighting in the city.

Thursday night: as-Sadr, as-Sistani agree on plan for a million Iraqis to enter the area of the Shii shrines and to leave with the Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters under their protection.

In a brief and exclusive meeting with a member of the negotiating team representing Muqtada as-Sadr, a correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam learned some of the details of the plan that his side and that of Shii religious authority Ali as-Sistani have agreed upon to secure the safety of the Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters entrenched in the area of the Shii shrines, the old city, and the cemetery of an-Najaf.

The aim of the plan, according to the negotiator for as-Sadr was to protect the lives of the Jaysh al-Mahdi mujahideen. It has been agreed that a million Iraqis would enter the shrine area, that they would mingle with the mujahideen and remain there until 10:00am and then that they would all depart together so that there would be no distinguishing between fighters and civilians.

The negotiator told Mafkarat al-Islam that there might be minor changes in the plan, concerning the time when the million people would depart, according to prevailing conditions, depending on what our interests and the changing circumstances demand.

In a press conference Thursday night, in Baghdad, the puppet so-called minister of state, Qasim Dawud, announced that the US-installed Iraqi regime had accepted the plan to end the siege of an-Najaf agreed upon by representatives of Muqtada as-Sadr and Ali as-Sistani. Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported Dawud as expressing the puppet regimes support for what he called the last minute initiative and said that as-Sistani had insisted on wording provided by the puppet regime in his agreement with Muqtada as-Sadr, thereby allowing the US-installed regime to approve it. The agreement, he said, provided for the disarming of the Jaysh al-Mahdi and their vacating the area of the Shii shrines known as as-Sahn al-Haydari.

According to as-Sistanis aide Hamid al-Khaffaf, the agreement provided for the disarming of both an-Najaf and al-Kufah and the departure of the armed Jaysh al-mahdi from both cities. Al-Khaffaf called on the government to accept the agreement and thereby allow thousands of the followers of as-Sistani to head for the as-Sahn al-Haydari to meet and bring back the Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters. Minister of state Dawuds acceptance of the agreement constituted the puppet regimes permission for that movement to go ahead.

Mortar attack on puppet police checkpoint reportedly kills two.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported Thursday that there had been a mortar attack in al-Kufah on Wednesday, apparently targeting a puppet police checkpoint. The AP claimed that two civilians were killed in the attack, including an 8-year-old boy.

Twenty marchers for as-Sistani reportedly shot to death.

Shortly after noon on Thursday, a cameraman for Reuters reported that bullets were fired at supporters of US-inclined Shii religious authority Ali as-Sistani in their march in al-Kufah, killing 20 of them.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in an-Nasiriyah reported on Thursday night that at around 8:15 a demonstration of some 600 people gathered at a crossroads to welcome Shii religious authority Ali as-Sistani as he passed through their city, but at the same time to call on him not to do wrong to Muqtada as-Sadr.

The demonstrators chanted their support of Muqtada as-Sadr and denounced the US-appointed Iraqi regime as an agent of the US occupation.

Meanwhile US aircraft thickly crisscrossed the skies over the city, where Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters are deployed in strength. Dozens of young people came out to demonstrate for as-Sistani an act they regard as a religious duty while at the same time defending Muqtada as-Sadr who enjoys great popularity. An-Nasiriyah is a powerful center of support for the Muqtada as-Sadr as it is a location where bedouin tribes and families abound who have a tradition of supporting the as-Sadr clerical family.

US intelligence files on Saddam Hussein, on Iraqi collaborators, and on US spies in Iraq stolen from green zone.

In a report posted at 9:10pm Mecca time Thursday night, the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam wrote that the employees of a department in the so-called green zone the nickname given by the American aggressors to the Iraqi Republican palace that they have occupied as their headquarters awoke with a shock last Tuesday to find that their building was on fire.

The fire affected an area containing all the files and papers pertaining to the work of the US intelligence services inside Iraq. Curiously, however, the Americans discovered that several specific collections of documents had disappeared or were stolen just before the outbreak of the fire. These consisted of the materials relating to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, the files that concerned Iraqi agents working for the US occupation, and files that reveal the work of US intelligence inside Iraq.

The correspondent reported that following the disappearance of the vitally important files and until the time of writing, American intelligence officers have been intensively investigating the employees of the green zone to find out who may have carried out the operation.

Resistance fire downs Chinook transport helicopter over al-Fallujah.

Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Fallujah Friday night shot down a huge American Chinook helicopter, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The downing took place at 11:45pm Baghdad time. The helicopter was carrying US equipment Humvees or armored vehicles and was about to land these vehicles in the industrial zone of al-Fallujah when the Resistance rocket knocked the craft out of the sky.

In his report posted at 11:50pm Mecca time, the correspondent wrote that fire was still blazing in the wreckage of the massive helicopter. Such aircraft can carry three vehicles.

Fierce fighting in al-Fallujah Friday night.

Violent fighting erupted Friday night between the Iraqi Resistance in al-Fallujah and the US aggressor troops. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the fighting broke out at about 11:35pm Baghdad time and spread to the al-Askari neighborhood and the industrial zone.

In a report posted at 11:20pm Mecca time Friday night, the correspondent wrote that fighting was still raging in the area and that the sound of artillery shells exploding behind US lines could be heard, apparently the result of Resistance mortar fire.

US halts offensive on al-Fallujah as of Thursday morning.

US aggressor troops halted their assault on the defiant city of al-Fallujah on Thursday morning after receiving painful counter blows from the Iraqi Resistance defenders of the city, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. In a report posted at 12:45pm Friday afternoon Mecca time, the correspondent wrote that there had been no more US attacks on the city since Thursday morning. The only exception to this was one rocket that the Americans fired at a private house in the al-Askari neighborhood. Other than that, the correspondent wrote, the situation is calm and no concentrations of US forces can be seen except in the area of as-Saqlawiyah.

Resistance forces had in fact been anticipating some sort of US offensive for several weeks and had begun to prepare for it by striking at the Americans supply lines for two weeks.

Two US troops killed Wednesday when al-Fallujah Resistance shoots down Apache helicopter.

Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah shot down a US Apache helicopter over the agricultural area north east of the city on Wednesday morning. The al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported Friday afternoon that on Wednesday morning the Resistance had fired a rocket at the chopper bringing it down and killing two Americans aboard.

The ease with which the al-Fallujah Resistance brings down helicopters has prompted the US side to rely more and more on fixed-wing F-16 and F-18 fighterbombers in their assaults on the defiant city.

Iraqi police: US lost 53 dead in failed assault on al-Fallujah Wednesday.

More than 53 US troops were killed on Wednesday afternoon, 25 August 2004, in the fierce battle that raged between them and the Iraqi Resistance south of al-Fallujah, according to sources in the local Iraqi police who spoke to a correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city.

The reporter himself saw that an Iraqi Resistance bomb destroyed one tank and a rocket-propelled grenade fired by the Resistance destroyed an American armored vehicle. Three transports loaded with US troops were set ablaze in the course of the fighting.

Resistance sharpshooters pick off four US troops near al-Fallujah on Wednesday.

Iraqi Resistance sharpshooters killed four US troops on Wednesday after they emerged from the US base in al-Habbaniyah, northwest of al-Fallujah, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Iraqi Resistance snipers played a major role in throwing back the US offensive on that city.

Iraqi Resistance blows up US weapons storage depot near al-Fallujah.

Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Fallujah destroyed an American storehouse for heavy weapons and light arms in the US Tariq Camp east of al-Fallujah, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam, whose reports are now able to get out of the city after the Americans called off their intended assault. The attack inflicted a major setback on US aggressor troops since the storage facility was intended for use in the offensive against al-Fallujah. The correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that the fires blazed continuously in the storage area for some 10 hours after the Resistance attack.

Resistance bomb kills three US troops near al-Fallujah Thursday night.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded next to a US foot patrol accompanied by a Humvee in the al-BuSaddah area of al-Fallujah on Thursday evening, according to the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The blast killed three US footsoldiers and wounded eight others in addition to knocking the Humvee out of commission.

Massive Resistance ambush north of al-Karmah leaves 30 Americans dead.

Thirty US aggressor troops were killed when the Iraqi Resistance ambushed their column of Humvees Thursday morning north of al-Karmah. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Karmah reported that local residents who saw the attack said that about 150 Resistance fighters attacked the US column, destroying eight Humvees and killing 30 US soldiers. The fact that the Resistance massed a relatively large number of fighters for the attack made the Americans relatively easy prey, particularly since at the beginning of the engagement, the US troops drove into a mine field on the side of the road, allowing the Resistance to shower them with rocket-propelled grenades.

US air raid Friday night targets al-Askari neighborhood of al-Fallujah.

At 8:28pm Baghdad time Friday night, US aircraft blasted the al-Askari neighborhood of al-Fallujah according to the local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent there. Two US aircraft carried out the raid.

Three US troops killed in Resistance bombing in al-Qaim.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US foot patrol on the road west of al-Qaim near the Customs post area at 6:00pm Baghdad time Friday night. Al-Qaim is located on the Iraqi-Syrian border. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a massive explosion resulted from the detonation of the bomb, killing three US troops and wounding six others.

Resistance bomb destroyes Humvee, kills five US troops in Hit.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded near the US base in Hit, west of Baghdad, at about 10:30pm Baghdad time Friday night. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a US Humvee exploded after it passed over the bomb near the US base. The force of the blast flipped the vehicle over. The Humvee was totally destroyed and five US troops aboard it were killed in the direct hit.

US arrests puppet police force chief in Hit.

US occupation forces on Friday arrested Major General Hamid Salam Abdallah, the chief of the puppet policeforce in the city of Hit, western Iraq. Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that a number of policemen from the city came out to demonstrate in protest against the arrest and to demand his release.

US forces failed to disclosed any reasons for the police chiefs arrest, and it is reported that the US has arrested numerous of the local commanders of the puppet police force out of doubts regarding their loyalty to the US invaders. In many cases the police forces installed by the US have wound up supporting the Iraqi Resistance.

Iraqi Resistance destroys US military plane at Saddam International Airport.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired two powerful Grad rockets at the US base at Saddam International Airport at 12:30pm Friday, Baghdad time. One of the rockets struck and destroyed a US aircraft parked on the runway and damaged two others, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Immediately following the attack, US forces deployed quickly and in strength throughout the area around the facility. The American aggressor forces fired several heat-seeking rockets, each one 1.75 to 2 meters in length at positions from where they thought the Resistance had launched the Grads.

Thick black smoke continued to rise from the site of the Resistance attack as the US deployed their forces in response.

A Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent was told by an employee at the airport that he saw with his own eyes at close range one American plane totally burned up with smoke rising from it and two others heavily damaged. He could confirm that all three planes were American, but could not say for certain what type of aircraft they were.

Nine members of the Zionist Mossad secret police were killed when the Iraqi Resistance attacked them with light arms. The Resistance fighters, riding a GMC vehicle, drove past the Zionists on the Airport Road in the al-Amil neighborhood in the south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that only one of the Mossad agents survived the attack and he was wounded severely.

Mafkarat al-Islam reports that apparently someone working inside the US headquarters in what the Americans call the green zone tipped off the Resistance as to the identity of the Zionist agents. Most Zionist Mossad agents in Iraq work out of the green zone, as the US aggressors make use of the Zionists to assist them in their actions against the Resistance, since the Americans believe that the Mossad has useful experience in suppressing the Palestinian Resistance.

Resistance attacks fuel tanker near al-Yusufiyah killing two personnel.

Iraqi Resistance forces on Friday attacked and destroyed a fuel tank truck belonging to the US aggressor forces on the International Highway north of al-Yusufiyah. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack was carried out at about 2:15 Baghdad time, and left the truck driver and his companion in the vehicle dead in addition to totally destroying the oil truck.

Resistance car bomb targets US convoy in Mosul.

Jaysh al-Mahdi withdraws from Shii shrine area in an-Najaf, a few US vehicles move away.

Easrly Friday Shii religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr ordered his followers inside the Mausoleum of the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib in an-Najaf to lay down their weapons and to join up with thousands of Shii believers who had gathered in the area of the shrine, according to a peace plan to which he and representatives of Shii religious authority Ali as-Sistani worked out on Thursday.

The Jaysh al-Mahdi militia had earlier allowed thousands of Shii believers into the area of the tomb and other shrines, known as as-Sahn al-Haydari.

Afterwards a small number of US armored vehicles sped away from the Mausoleum area while Iraqi puppet police began to take control of the area. The US puppet governor of an-Najaf announced that the puppet regime had accepted the peace plan and that the US troops would withdraw from an-Najaf as soon as the Jaysh al-Mahdi leaves the shrine area.

Later on Friday, a spokesman for Ali as-Sistani announced that Muqtada as-Sadrs forces had handed over the keys to the tomb of the Imam Ali in an-Najaf. As-Sadr spokesman Ahmad ash-Shaybani said, however, that the Jaysh al-Mahdi would hide their weapons, not turn them over to the puppet police or puppet Iraqi army, according to Agence France Presse (AFP). He said that the Jaysh al-Mahdi remains.

A puppet police spokesman in an-Najaf said that three places had been designated for weapons to be turned over, but that no one had come to those places to do so.

US attempt to burst into al-Fallujah fails.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday afternoon that some US aggressor troops attempted to storm into the industrial zone of al-Fallujah but that the Resistance repelled the American assault.

The attack took place at 5:20pm Baghdad time and lasted some 10 minutes. The Resistance fought back fiercely, sowing destruction among the Americans and forcing them to fall back to their concentration points outside the city.

Iraqi sharpshooter takes out US sniper in al-Qaim.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday evening that an Iraqi sharpshooter in the city of al-Qaim had shot and wounded a US sniper who was in position atop a tall tower in the city. The correspondent wrote that the Resistance has made extensive and successful use of sharpshooters to pick off US snipers and other troops in recent battles. Al-Qaim is located on the border with Syria.

Resistance shells US base at al-Muthanna in Baghdad Sunday morning raising panic among US military personnel.
Iraqi Resistance forces shelled the US base at al-Muthanna airport in Baghdad on Sunday morning, lobbing some 30 mortar shells into the American occupation facility. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack occurred at about 10:30am Sunday morning, Baghdad time, and following the barrage, thick black smoke could be seen rising from the camp, indicating some direct hits on US equipment. Warning sirens wailed inside the US camp continuously. Eyewitnesses who work in the base told the correspondent that two mortar rounds crashed into the parking lot for Humvees, destroying four of them, the rest of the rounds having landed in the midst of the camp area itself.

Panic reigned among the American troops in the prison within the al-Muthanna camp as the 24 mortar shells and Katyusha rockets rained down upon them. In a report posted by the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam at 12:50am Mecca time Monday morning, a former prisoner in the facility released later in the day on Sunday reported that as the barrage increased in intensity, American women soldiers burst into hysterical weeping as the American male troops screamed in terror.

The released prisoner described how the panic-stricken US personnel, including the major who commands the prison, made a mad attempt to escape through a 1-meter wide door out of the prison area. In the mad rush for the exit, one US woman soldier tried to hold a male soldier back to allow herself room to get out, but the male soldier was the stronger or more frightened of the two and threw her aside so that he could flee. Another male soldier grabbed a female soldier by her hair and pulled her aside so that he could get out the door first.

The prisoner said that all the soldiers guarding the prison disappeared until the sun broke through the smoke as the smell of gunpowder filled the facility.

Iraqi Resistance liquidates three American intelligence officers, retrieves their computers and documents in al-Yusufiyah, Sunday morning.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters killed three US intelligence officers as they were driving in a 2004 model GMC vehicle south of al-Yusufiyah on the highway to al-Basrah at about 7:30am Sunday morning.

Eyewitnesses in al-Yusufiyah reported that the three US intelligence officers were killed with light arms after they stopped their vehicle when one of their tires had a blow out. The local residents who witnessed the incident reported that after the shooting, they saw three masked men board the vehicle and take three computers and three other bags. The men then got into a black car and drove off to the north.

The correspondent writes that it appears that the three Americans had been under surveillance by the Resistance as soon as they left their official place of work in Baghdad. The Resistance has succeeded in penetrating every US military operation in which Iraqis work or are employed by the Americans.

Resistance fires rockets into US green zone in Baghdad Sunday morning.

The Iraqi Resistance fired three rockets at the US occupation headquarters in the Republican Palace in Baghdad the compound dubbed by the US invaders the green zone. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance fired both Katyusha and powerful Grad rockets at the tightly guarded US installation at about 8:00am Sunday morning.

The correspondent reported that thick smoke could be seen rising from the green zone after the attack, some of the smoke being black an indication that a direct hit had been scored on some inflammable substance or vehicle inside the aggressor compound. White smoke also was rising over the area immediately after the missile strikes, indicating that some buildings had been struck by the explosive rockets.

Resistance bombs blow up US Humvees, kill seven US troops Sunday morning.

Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed an American aggressor patrol Sunday morning in northern Baghdad and killed seven US troops. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance explosives blew up under a convoy of six Humvees at 7:30am Baghdad time south of the at-Taji area. The blasts totally destroyed two Humvees and killed seven US troops who were aboard them.

Two US troops killed in Resistance attack on Humvee near Military College Sunday afternoon.

At least two US troops were killed on Sunday when their Humvee was disabled by Resistance fire in the ar-Rusamiyah area of Baghdad. Sirens wailed inside the US camp after the attack that began at about 4:30pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon. The Iraqi Military College has now been renamed by the invaders the College of the National Guard but it houses some 4,000 US troops in addition to puppet national guard forces whom the Americans maintain in their service.

Resistance ambush leaves six US troops dead on Hayfa street in Baghdad Sunday morning.

Six US troops were killed and 13 others wounded in battles on Hayfa street in Baghdad on Sunday morning, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Iraqi Resistance forces used rocket-propelled grenades, hand grenades, and Kalashnikov assault rifles to attack a US foot patrol of about 30 soldiers.

Jaysh al-Mahdi battles Americans in Madinat as-Sadr Sunday night.

Continuous fighting raged Sunday night in the Madinat as-Sadr area of eastern Baghdad as the Jaysh al-Mahdi battled US aggressor troops. The fighting began around 8:30pm Baghdad time and was still going on when the local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent posted his report at 11:09 Baghdad time (10:09 Mecca time) that night.

The correspondent wrote that the intensity of the fighting varied from one area to another, but was most intense in the as-Saddah area located at the farthest part of Madinat as-Sadr. US troops were using 60mm cannon in their fighting as well as BKCs and rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons.

In a dispatch posted at 11:55pm Mecca time, the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces had launched a vicious attack on the Madinat as-Sadr area of Baghdad using F-16 fighterbombers and Apache helicopters to bombard Jaysh al-Mahdi positions in the area.

The correspondent, located in a nearby neighborhood, reported that more than 32 US vehicles including Abrams tanks and Bradley armored fighting vehicles were headed towards Madinat as-Sadr at about midnight, Baghdad time, where they were to join the fighting and reinforce the Americans already engaged since earlier Sunday night.

The Americans were using 1-meter long heat seeking missiles (with a 60mm diameter) to strike the positions from which the Jaysh al-Mahdi was firing Katyusha rockets and mortars at them. They can reportedly fire automatically from Humvees at the Jaysh al-Mahdi rocket launchers.

The US assault followed the breakdown of cease-fire talks between the Jaysh al-Mahdi and US forces which were an attempt to repeat the successes scored with the cease-fire in an-Najaf.

Badr Brigade collaborationist official assassinated in Baghdad Sunday evening.

A high-ranking official in the collaborationist Shii chauvinist Badr Brigades was assassinated in Baghdad Sunday according to a report filed by the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The assassination took place in al-Amil district of Baghdad at 11:15 Sunday evening and no further details were available at that time.

The Badr Brigades are the armed wing of the collaborationist party known as the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI). The Badr Brigades invaded Iraq from Iran in tandem with US troops and its chief was appointed to the US interim governing council after the American occupation.

Resistance blows up oil pipelines coming from southern ar-Rumaylah oil field.

A correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday evening that a number of oil pipelines extending from the ar-Rumaylah oil field in the south of Iraq, through the area of az-Zubayr, to the port of Umm Qasr at al-Basrah had blown up. The Resistance attack on the pipelines took place at 7:22pm Baghdad time.

This was the second attack on the ar-Rumaylah oil field pipelines all of which have set large quantities of oil and gas ablaze. Fire fighters were still battling blazes set off by bombs earlier Sunday.

A spokesman for the local puppet police claimed that the latest blast was the result of an accumulation of oil and gas escaping in the ar-Rumaylah area.

Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters move to Sunni Resistance areas to improve fighting techniques.

A correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday that after the cease-fire agreement in an-Najaf, dozens of Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters loyal to Shii religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr, have moved on to areas in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar in western part of Iraq (where al-Fallujah and ar-Ramadi are located) and to the area of Samarra and other largely Sunni regions. The correspondent writes that the aim behind the move is for the fighters to study the fighting techniques and to train on various types of weapons being used by the predominantly Sunni Resistance fighters in those areas of the country.

Friday attack by Jaysh al-Mahdi leaves 14 British troops dead in al-Amarah.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday that Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters had killed 14 British occupation troops in the southern city of al-Amarah on 27 August at about 10:00pm. The militiamen ambushed the British invaders outside the entrance to the governorate building in the city on the International Highway to Baghdad. Eight British military vehicles were totally destroyed in the attack.

Jaysh al-Mahdi in an-Najaf retained 98 percent of weapons after cease-fire.

A Jaysh al-Mahdi commander in the city of an-Najaf told the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam that his militia forces had managed to retain 98 percent of their weapons after the conclusion of the truce in the city.

The commander, who wished to remain in the city, said that those weapons would yet be more powerful and destructive in fighting the occupation than they were in the days of the siege of an-Najaf.

He said that the Jaysh al-Mahdi had deployed in most cities of southern Iraq where a real war of attrition was underway against the occupation forces.

As confirmation of the commanders account, the British newspaper the Sunday Times reported that the secret agreement between Muqtad as-Sadr and Ali as-Sistani had allowed the Jaysh al-Mahdi to retain its Kalashnikov assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades, raising fears among the aggressors that the Jaysh al-Mahdi could easily regroup for armed struggle, something that appears to be happening, according to the commander interviewed by Mafkarat al-Islam. The Mafkarat al-Islam reports that similar indications are coming from other Jaysh al-Mahdi spokespersons in other cities as well.

Fighting rages between Jaysh al-Mahdi and British troops in al-Basrah.

A representative of the local Jaysh al-Mahdi told the al-Basrah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam on Sunday that the cease-fire agreement reached in an-Najaf has nothing to do with the Jaysh al-Mahdi in al-Basrah.

Asad al-Basri, the director of the as-Sadr office for al-Basrah governorate said that his office had nothing to do with the an-Najaf truce concluded on Thursday.

In keeping with that, fierce fighting broke out Sunday morning between British aggressor troops and the Jaysh al-Mahdi in the al-Ashshar district of al-Basrah. The local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the al-Faruq Brigades, a predominantly Sunni Resistance group, were continuing to shell several British positions in the districts of al-Barradiiyah, as-Sai and ash-Shabiyah. Plumes of black smoke could be seen rising from their target areas, indicating that they had scored direct hits on invader vehicles.

The Sunday fighting followed battles that raged on Saturday between Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters and the British in the district of al-Qurnah to the north of al-Basrah. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that that fighting left two British armored vehicles ablaze. Two persons were killed and six others wounded in the combat.

At 6:00pm Saturday evening, an Apache helicopter rocketed the offices of Muqtada as-Sadr in al-Qurnah, in an indication that the aggressors also regard al-Basrah as having no connection with the cease-fire agreement concluded in an-Najaf Thursday.

Two-day British siege of al-Hayyaniyah area near al-Basrah ends.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Basrah on Sunday evening reported that a blockade that British aggressor troops had imposed on the area of al-Hayyaniyah around al-Basrah had been broken, two days after British attacks. Al-Hayyaniyah is regarded as a major center of Jaysh al-Mahdi activity in the area of al-Basrah.

Resistance mortar rounds targeted at British go astray in al-Basrah.

Six mortar rounds were targeted at British forces in the as-Sai area of al-Basrah according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam at 5:00pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon. The mortar rounds missed their targets, however, and destroyed four civilian houses and wounding two women an one small child.

I think he is pointing out he fact that we are not bieng told the truth about the amount of killed US troops as well as attacks. It is expected that any war time government hides the truth of the war, the Bush admin are certainly no different. They love the lies. . .

Damn Americans killing civilians again!

zcheng is strongly anti-US, from what I gather from his past posts. I'm not sure if hes trying to draw some connection to the deaths of american soldiers, or hes trolling trying to get people fired up. But either way, this post proves.. uhmm.. nothing?

Theres 2 sides to every story.

Either way, I could find accounts for all of these incidents in US media. They are reported, beleive it or not. Just because you choose to ignore it now everytime they say 'such and such number of coalition soldiers killed' on an almost daily basis.

Edit addition:

Here ya go, a list of soldiers killed in Iraq. Pictures, bios, graphs, race, gender, date, how they died, and where.

So much for the "US media" doesnt report this!

www.cnn.com...
websearch.cnn.com...

Heres a report from the Department of Defense, .. gasp.. of course, this is the government 'hiding things from us'.

www.vikingphoenix.com...

Give me a few minutes and I can provide 40 more links if you want.

Just because you CHOOSE to be blind, deaf and dumb to things happening around the world, doesnt mean they arent being talked about, presented to you, and covered on the news.

Do you mean those 500,000 demonstrators in New York last weekend are Anti-US?

I am not Anti-US or Anti US People. But I am 100% anti-US foreign policy. I am 100% anti-US invasion and occupation of Iraq. US should withdraw immediately from Iraq for its own seek.

Monday, 30 August 2004.

Early Tuesday, US forces pull back tactically from al-Fallujah after a day of fighting.

In a report posted at 12:32am Tuesday morning the al-Fallujah orrespondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops had withdrawn from the environs of the city after their attacks during the day met, as usual, with fierce resistance by the city's defenders who inflicted significant losses on the US aggressors.

After their pullback, all entrances and exits to the city are again open.

The latest withdrawal is not expected to last, however, as the Resistance believes it to be a tactical move only.

Following a day of aggression, the US again shells al-`Askari neighborhood of al-Fallujah after midnight Tuesday morning.

In a report posted at 12:11am Mecca time Tuesday morning, the al- Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam- reported that US forces were at that moment shelling the al-`Askari neighborhood of al- Fallujah. One of the shells had struck a civilian Opal car, killing three Iraqi civilians, two of them brothers, inside.

Earlier in the day fierce fighting raged in al-`Askari neighborhood as US tanks pumped shells into the area in spite of the long- standing truce that the Americans routinely break. (More on earlier attacks below.)

US tanks shell al-`Askari neighborhood of north al-Fallujah Monday evening.

In an another violation of their standing cease-fire in al-Fallujah, US aggressor troops fired projectiles into the al-`Askari neighborhood of northern al-Fallujah on Monday according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The shelling started at 7:40pm Monday evening and lasted 10 minutes. A large number of US tanks were dispatched to the area around al-`Askari.

Fighting erupts between US and Resistance at al-`Askari neighborhood of al-Fallujah Monday night.
In a dispatch posted at 7:30pm Mecca time (8:30pm Baghdad time) the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that violent battles had broken out and were still raging in the al-`Askari neighborhood between the Resistance and US aggressor troopos.

The fighting erupted at 8:10pm local time and US troops were using tanks to shell the area as Resistance forces were responding with mortar fire and BKCs.

Seven American troops killed in Resistance attack in as-Sawlawiyah.

Firece fighting erupted between the local Iraqi Resistance and US occupation troops east of as-Saqlawiyah in the al-Fallujah area according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The correspondent wrote that the violent fighting broke out at about 4:42 local time after a US Humvee and an army truck were destroyed by an Iraqi Resistance bomb in the area. Seven US troops were killed in the explosion five aboard the Humvee and two in the
truck. Eye witnesses reported that a battle erupted after the bombing and then the US troops closed off the area.

At least five US troops killed in Resistance ambush of supply convoy near ar-Ramadi late Monday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US supply convoy in the ar-Rabtah area on the highway northwest of ar-Ramadi on Monday. According to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the area, the attack occurred at 11:30am Monday morning and destroyed two fuel tank trucks and killed the drivers of both vehicles.

A Bradley armored vehicle was also totally destroyed, apparently with an SBJ9 rocket a development of the rocket-propelled grenade. At least three US troops were killed when that armored vehicle exploded the driver, the one manning the BKC, and the one who prepares munitions. But it is likely that more US troops were aboard the Bradley because it was serving as protection for the fuel convoy and the US troops use such vehicles to transport troops in relatively secure conditions when they are escorting US supply and fuel convoys.

Four US troops killed in Resistance bombing of Humvee south of al- Fallujah.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in the ad-Duwayliyah area of southern al-Fallujah destroying a US Humvee at 8:30 local time Monday morning, according to the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Four US troops who were aboard the vehicle were killed.

US shells industrial zone of al-Fallujah Monday afternoon.

US aggressor forces used mortars and tank cannon to shell the southern part of the industrial zone of the city of al-Fallujah 5:40pm Monday afternoon, Baghdad time, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The Resistance managed to totally destroy the US tank 15 minutes after the Americans had begun their barrage. Inside the Abrams tank were at least five US troops the driver, the gunner, one person to man the smaller arms, and two to prepare for fire.

After the destruction of the US tank, a US reconnaissance plane circled over al-Fallujah.

US tank kills eight Iraqi civilians in their car in al-Fallujah Monday morning.

Eight Iraqi civilians were killed when a US tank opened fire at their Toyota landcruiser that they were driving on ash-Shihabi Road in the ash-Shukr area of al-Fallujah. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the tank fired two shells at the civilian vehicle at 10:00am local time for no apparent reason.

The killing of Iraqi civilians for no apparent reason or for slight suspicions is habitual with US invader troops, the reporter commented.

Mysterious bombing in al-Qa'im kills three in effort to discredit Resistance.

Three Iraqi civilians were killed and seven others wounded when a remote-controlled bomb exploded Monday morning at 9:00am local time at the train station in the city of al-Qa'im on the Iraqi-Syrian border. According to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the city, the party responsible for the bombing or who would benefit by it is unknown, except that it is feared locally that parties seeking to discredit the Resistance might have engineered it.

Similar deadly blasts that targeted Iraqi civilians have taken place in Hadithah, ar-Ramadi, and al-Khalidiyah.

The victims of the al-Qa'im bombing were buried Monday afternoon.

US invaders arrest Iraqi civilians near al-Qa'im on Monday.

US aggressor forces on Monday arrested more than 12 Iraqi civilian in the area of al-Mashari` ("the Projects") that lies 3km from the city of al-Qa'im on the Syrian border. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the al-Mashari` area is known as a hotbed of Resistance operations and US forces frequently storm into houses and arrest the local inhabitants, accusing them of belonging to the Resistance.

Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in al-Qa'im, killing four American troops.

Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Qa'im destroyed a Humvee on Monday afternoon near the eastern approaches to the city, which lies on the border with Syria. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam wrote that four US troops who were aboard the vehicle were killed when the Resistance destroyed the Humvee. Two charred bodies could be seen in the burning wreckage, while the force of the blast that struck the vehicle sent the two other Americans flying to their deaths, one of them the man who fired the BKC.

The man who fires the BKC seldom survives Resistance attacks on Humvees, the local correspondent writes, because in his position he is always exposed to direct hits. The US military installed shields on the Humvee to protect that position, but in fact all they are able to do is to provide protection against sniper bullets; they are ineffective against Resistance bombs or rocket-propelled grenades.

Resistance destroys Humvee south of al-Qa'im as sunset Monday.

Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Qa'im on Monday totally destroyed a US Humvee at sunset on Monday, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The attack took place in the al-Mashru`at ("the Projects") area to the south of the city on the border with Syria, where the battle against the US invaders has recently seen enhanced activity.

Two Resistance bombs exploded as a US patrol was passing through the district south of al-Qa'im on its way to round up and arrest more Iraqis. Twelve Iraqi civilians were hauled away by the US forces earlier in the day (see report above) for no apparent reason.

The number of Americans killed in the latest Resistance bombing is unknown, but usually at least three would be killed in such a direct hit on a Humvee, since three is the minimum number of soldiers who usually ride in such vehicles.

The bombs frequently used by the Resistance are locally called "Austrian explosive," of which there are two types: one small, and the other large. The radius of the explosion of the large explosive package is 1,000 meters, while that of the smaller charge is 500 meters. Both are highly destructive, able to destroy an Abrams tank, the smallest of the US tanks. When such explosives
are used it is rare that anyone riding in a fiberglass Humvee would survive a blast that strikes his or her vehicle directly, since even steel tanks are torn apart by them.

The Army of the Republic of Iraq left behind millions of explosives of the "Austrian" type, which were originally artillery shells of Austrian manufacture, but the Resistance has been able to take them and develop them into powerful and deadly bombs.
__
Fierce noon-time fighting near Samarr Monday. __

Fierce fighting broke out between Iraqi Resistance forces and the US aggressors in the al-Ishaqi area north of Balad and south of Samarr on Monday at around 12:00 noon local time and lasted for about 45 minutes. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that there appear to have been US casualties because the road to the area was sealed off by US forces for some six hours after the fighting and Apache helicopters crisscrossed the skies overhead.

Resistance cripples tank, destroys Humvee on road to Abu Ghurayb Monday night. A correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad reported in a dispatch posted at 12:08am Mecca time Tuesday morning, that Iraqi Resistance forces ambushed US aggressor troops, knocking one Abrams tank out of commission and destroying a Humvee. The attack, which took place at 9:00 Mecca time, happened on the International Baghdad highway on the way to Abu Ghurayb.

The correspondent reported that the Resistance used rocket-propelled grenades and CFK rockets in their attack, but were unable to ascertain the extent of any casualties they might have inflicted on the US invaders. At least three are considered likely to have died in the Humvee, however.

US forces battle Resistance in several Baghdad neighborhoods Monday.

Battles erupted between the Iraqi Resistance and the US occupation forces in the al-`Amil neighborhood to the south of the occupied city of Baghdad. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the district reported that the attack took place at 10:00pm Mecca time and that the Resistance used light and medium weight weaponry, including automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported Monday that a series of Iraqi Resistance attacks on the oil pipeline network in southern Iraq had shut down all exports of Iraqi oil through the port of al-Basrah starting Sunday night and that no pumping likely for at least one week. Wasid Khadduri of the Middle East Economic Survey reported that the shut down of Iraqi petroleum exports from the south for one day cost the US occupation $60 million.

In an effort to prevent the US occupation from deriving benefit from the resources of their country, the Iraqi Resistance have maintained a constant offensive against the oil pipeline networks in the north and south of the country. Exports to the north have been virtually shut down for months.

British invaders mount wave of raids and arrests in an-Nasiriyah.

British aggressor troops carried out raids and house invasions on al- Bahw Street in the southern Iraqi city of an-Nasiriyah from 4:45 to about 5:45 local time Monday afternoon. The local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the British invader troops were backed up by four armored vehicles.

Meanwhile aggressor aircraft prowled the skies above the city continuously from 1:00pm to about 6:00pm shortly before sunset.

These actions are regarded as a British warning to the Jaysh al- Mahdi in the city, in particular after the events in an-Najaf, telling them not to repeat the open take over of parts of the city that the Jaysh al-Mahdi undertook at the Shi`i religious shrines in an-Najaf.

An-Nasiriyah is regarded as a bastion for the Shi`i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr. Hundreds of his supporters in an-Nasiriyah traveled to an-Najaf to take part in the battle against the American aggressors and have now returned to their home in an-Nasiriyah having gained valuable combat experience in fighting the invaders.

Anticipating political proposal by Muqtada as-Sadr, Jaysh al-Mahdi proclaims cease fire throughout Iraq Monday evening.

A top spokesman for Shi`i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr called on the Jaysh al-Mahdi to cease fire throughout Iraq late Monday, saying it was part of as-Sadr's plan for the country. `Ali Sumaysim told Lebanese TV al-Manar that as-Sadr also urged the US- installed "government" to behave with restraint as as-Sadr was planning to release a political plan for the country. Sumaysim called on the Jaysh al-Mahdi to cease fire, "except in self-defense"
and called on the puppet regime to do likewise.

Night-time assault on northern al-Fallujah thrown back.

American aggressor forces launched an assault in an attempt to storm the al-Jurayfi neighborhood on the north side of the city of al- Fallujah at 2:00am Tuesday morning (Baghdad time), as American attacks on the defiant city continued.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance fighters in al-Jurayfi repulsed the US attack, however, again frustrating the American desire to break into al-Fallujah.

After assuring themselves that the US assault had been repulsed, the al-Jurayfi Resistance fighters knocked one American tank out of commission and destroyed an armored vehicle, killing and wounding an unknown number of US troops.

Resistance destroys US tank on al-Khalidiyah bridge Tuesday morning.

A US command post on the al-Khalidiyah bridge west of Baghdad came
under Resistance attack on Tuesday according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. One US tank was destroyed killing at least five Americans aboard.

At least two Americans aboard the helicopter were killed when it crashed to earth.

Resistance bomb kills two Americans on road to al-Qa'im after sunset Tuesday evening.

At least two American troops were killed and two Humvees knocked out of commission after sunset on Tuesday when Resistance roadside bombs exploded under a passing US military column on the road to ar-Rabtah in the direction of the city of al-Qa'im, which lies on the Iraqi- Syrian border. The local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the attack.

Resistance battles US troops on Hayfa Street before dawn Tuesday morning. Two US troops killed.
Two US troops were killed and five others wounded in battles with Iraqi snipers and other Resistance forces in Baghdad early Tuesday morning.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at 3:00am, American invader troops launched a wave of house raids, searches, and arrests in the "Dutch compound" on Hayfa Street in the city. In the course of their rampage, the Americans broke car windshields and windows. At 4:15am Iraqi sharpshooters and other Resistance fighters went into action with grenades. The sharpshooters opened fire on the Americans, killing two and wounding five others.

The clashes continued for about 45 minutes, the correspondent reports, and then at about 5:00am, the Americans retreated from the area.

Two days earlier six US troops were killed and 13 others wounded in battles on Hayfa Street when the Resistance ambushed an American patrol there.

Resistance strikes US camps with rockets and mortars Tuesday night.
Iraqi Resistance forces carried out wide ranging attacks on US headquarters at the airports in Diyala and al-Muthanna in Baghdad Tuesday evening.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Diyala airport camp was struck by six Resistance rockets some Katyushas and some of the powerful Grad type. At the same time, the US camp set up in what had been the headquarters of Saddam's Fedayeen came under Resistance bombardment with 120mm mortars.

At 11:00pm Tuesday night (Baghdad time) the Resistance launched its attack on al-Muthanna airport in Baghdad, hitting the American compound with eight to 10 mortar rounds, according to the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent.

Resistance fires powerful Grad rockets into "green zone."

Early Tuesday morning, Iraqi Resistance forces fired three powerful Grad rockets at the US occupation headquarters in Baghdad the occupied Republican Palace, which the Americans have nicknamed "the green zone."

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the sound of the blasts could be heard clearly and that the sky lit up from the intensity of the explosions. Tongues of flame and plumes of black smoke rose into the sky over the highly guarded US compound.

In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Mecca time Tuesday, the correspondent wrote that the Resistance carried out another rocket attack on the same "green zone" target, not long before he filed his report. In that attack, a number of Grad rockets were again shot into the "green zone" and black smoke was seen rising over the area an indication that some of the missiles scored direct hits on flammable equipment or vehicles. Other clouds of white smoke indicated that buildings had been set ablaze.

The correspondent wrote that sirens wailed within the massive US compound, which houses the largest US embassy on earth, as well as the embassy of Britain and the offices of the stooge regime installed in Iraq by the occupation.

Five Americans killed, four wounded in Resistance assault south of Baghdad.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US convoy in the `ArabJabbur area near ad-Durah, south of Baghdad on Tuesday. According to the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam, the Resistance destroyed one US Humvee, killing four American troops. In addition they knocked another Humvee out of action and killed one American aboard it. A source in the ad-Durah puppet security forces informed the correspondent that the attack also wounded at least four American troops.

Resistance destroys six fuel tank trucks, kills at least six drivers in ambush.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US fuel convoy at 6:00am Baghdad time on the International Baghdad highway on Tuesday morning. Six fuel tank trucks were destroyed and at least six American drivers were killed in the ambush, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam.

The correspondent wrote that as soon as the attack commenced, the Humvees escorting the convoy fled, leaving the lumbering tankers easy targets for the Resistance. This has become a frequent occurrence, the correspondent notes that the Humvee escort vehicles speed away as soon as the first rocket-propelled grenade is fired. Rocket-propelled grenades can easily take out Humvees and their armament a fact that limits their usefulness in combat with the Iraqi Resistance.

In its virtually daily attacks on US fuel convoys, the Resistance is seeking to cut off the supply of the "life blood" to the occupation forces their fuel.

Resistance fires rockets, mortars at US base in Balad.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired Katyusha rockets and mortars at the US base in the town of Balad, north of Baghdad on Tuesday, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The US base in Balad is one of the main American occupation facilities in Iraq.

In a report posted at 3:10pm Mecca time (4:10pm local time) the correspondent wrote that the Resistance began an intermittent barrage on the base at 6:00am and that mortars and rockets were still being fired at the base from all directions now and again up until the time he filed his report.

Sources report Resistance launched chemical attack on US troops in Balad.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported Tuesday evening that exclusive sources had reported details regarding chemical attacks on the US base in the town of Balad that inflicted heavy losses in men and materiel in the American camp there.

According to the correspondent the sources reported that tactical chemical rockets struck the US camp in such large numbers that two large Black Hawk helicopters made five trips each to transport the dead and wounded to hospital. Each helicopter reportedly has a capacity of eight to 10 wounded at one time. The dead could be loaded in larger quantities, of course. US troops prevented Iraqi employees from gaining access to the camp after the attack.

The correspondent wrote that the Resistance employs tactical chemical weapons in specific circumstances when the air is stagnant, or when the wind is blowing away from population centers. US troops often locate their bases to the north of cities to prevent chemical weapons from being used against them, lest the prevailing northerly winds carry the toxins to the populated areas.

Nevertheless tactical chemical weapons have been used on several US bases including the base in the heights north of al-Khalidiyah, the US base north of ar-Ramadi, and the US base in Mosul.

Portuguese aggressor troops invade hospital in an-Nasiriyah, vet patients.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the southern city of an-Nasiriyah reported Tuesday morning that the city was in a state of unrest after Portuguese aggressor troops invaded the Republican Hospital in the city Tuesday morning and carried out an investigation into the identities of the patients. The Portuguese satellite troops later left the facility.

The correspondent also reported that a bomb exploded by the side of a road southwest of the city on the way to the Imam `Ali base without causing any damage.

Adding to the tension, aggressor aircraft thickly patrolled the skies above the city between 1:00am and 11:45am local time on a constant basis. After that time, however, the number of prowling aircraft decreased.

Two women, two children killed when US aircraft target civilian cars in raid on Samarr Monday.

A source in the Iraqi puppet police in Samarr on Tuesday reported that four persons were killed Monday in an air raid carried out by US aircraft in the city that lies 100km north of Baghdad.

Major Sa`dun Muhammad of the puppet police reported that "US aircraft rocketed two civilian cars on the main road in the al- Mu`tasim area on Monday." Reuters reported Muhammad as saying that the attack left two women and two children dead and wounded seven others all of them seriously.

Dr. Husayn `Al ad-Din of Samarr Hospital said that the injured civilians were in critical condition and had to be transferred to another hospital where better care could be provided them.

The US aggressor forces refused comment on the murder.

Samarr has recently been the scene of battles between the US aggressor troops and the Iraqi Resistance.

US admits one soldier killed, two wounded Sunday near Mosul.

Propaganda mouthpieces for the US occupation admitted Tuesday that an Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded in northern Iraq killing one US soldier and wounding two others. Turkoman education official assassinated in Kirkuk.

Ibrahim Isma`il, the director of education in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk was assassinated on Tuesday morning as he was on his way to work. Armed men opened fire on his car, according to a puppet police spokesman.

The motives for the slaying were unclear. Isma`il, however, was an ethnic Turkoman and the Kurdish chauvinist parties that work together with the US occupation have been pushing a program of ethnic cleansing in the Kirkuk area, targeting Arab and Turkoman residents. Kurdish chauvinists had in the past criticized Isma`il for allegedly only hiring Turkoman employees in his department, and not Kurds, and also for closing down the departments that oversee private Kurdish primary and secondary schools.

Also in Kirkuk, three puppet policemen were shot and wounded as they left a restaurant in Kirkuk on Tuesday morning. Another puppet policeman was wounded in a separate incident when a bomb exploded near a guard station late on Monday night.

Puppet oil official claims export through al-Basrah resumes but a low level.

In the early hours of Monday morning, officials with the Oil of the South Company run for the US occupiers of Iraq, claimed that export had resumed out of the port of al-Basrah, according to an Itar-TASS dispatch. An oil official who asked to remain anonymous asserted that the terminal was brought back to working order in the last hours of Monday after a series of Resistance bombings had shut down all export from the country.

Earlier, experts had predicted a week would be necessary for the southern port to resume export on behalf of the occupation, and even the anonymous spokesman who proclaimed the resumption of work out of al-Basrah asserted that 75,000 barrels of oil were pumped through in the last hours of Monday far below the already depressed daily reported average of 1.8 million barrels per day.

zcheng,

Thanks for giving us what this administrations is trying to cover to look good in his national convention while they are partying and having their cover up that the word is a 'better" place to live.

Our soldiers are dying and for what it is not for freedom it is not for defending our nation they are dying for the stupidity of this president. That is what we tell ourself to feel better.

We need to bring our troops back at any cost, and we need to do that now.

I'll say that. These are the people who want to exercise their liberties, but won't lift a finger to protect and defend them. Moral infants would be a good name for them.

Of the demonstrators in NY, do you know how many of them have served in the armed forces? I don't ... but I would blind to think that none of them have just as much as I would be delutional to think that they all have.

They are protesting because they have the constutional right to voice their opinions and their displeasure with Bush. Moral infants? That is rather a rather paternal tone you have. Just becasue somone disagrees with you does not mean that they are less knolagable or less devoted to this country.

of the fighting and the presence of Iraqi sharpshooters ready to pick off American troops attempting to advance.

A similar incident occurred in the same area two weeks earlier, the correspondent writes, but at that time it was American snipers who
prevented Iraqi Resistance fighters from rescuing a wounded brother who later died.

The Resistance had asked civilian residents of the ash-Shuhad and al-Akrad neighborhoods to evacuate in anticipation of US air strikes or shelling on the area. In fact US troops did fire six rockets at residences in ash-Shuhad but casualty counts were not initially available.

let us follow your thoughts out to there logical conclustion. The US abandons the fledgling Iraqi government and pulls out. The country quickly factionalises and devolves to chaos. This creates a humanitarian nightmare but because of the factiona bloodshed no aid will get through people begin to die from starvation and other causes. Arab fighter who had come to Iraq to fight the US whip up more anti American fervor. Those that feel betrayed by the US garner the shreds of Saddam's nuclear program and with help from Pakistan or Iran build an atomic bomb. They place one of Saddam's MiG 29's refurbished by Iran on a merchant vessel sail to about 1000 miles off the US coast using a pretext of heading to Cuba use rockets to launch the MiG on a one way mission to destroy a US city. Still wanna pull out? Or shall we fight the Islamassists in THEIR yard not ours.

Who said there will be civil war? Ask Iraqi people, not by accepting whatever Fox, CNN, BBC tell you!

Both Sunni and Shia are help each other now. There will be disturbance, but not civil war. Kurds might be different, since they are still killing Sunni and Shia people along with US.

zcheng - those have to be the longest posts I've ever seen here

I think the message is simple... one side's terrorists are the other side's resistants. One side's liberation is the other side's occupation.

Sorry for those long posts. They are posted for those willing to search and find the true reality in Iraq today. The propaganda (news) from CNN/Fox/BBC and from Iraqi Resistance are two images of Iraq today. You have to decide what is candid reporting or just propaganda.

To me, Iraqi Resistance report are more detailed with elements of true reports: When, Where, and What happened. The number of US casualities is difficult to believe, but is more believable than what is officially admitted by US.

I'll say that. These are the people who want to exercise their liberties, but won't lift a finger to protect and defend them. Moral infants would be a good name for them.

You're joking right? You do understand that by saying that, you liken yourself to a good number of the "Moral infants".

Simple as that. I would challange you to a debate about it if I thought you would accept it.

But that last post was intellectually deadening.

- Good idea......but a lot of zcheng's stuff wasn't 'thoughts' it was information about events clearly not being reported in much of the western press.

Considering that information and why that is might be a good idea too, yes?

The US abandons the fledgling Iraqi government and pulls out. The country quickly factionalises and devolves to chaos. This creates a humanitarian nightmare but because of the factiona bloodshed no aid will get through people begin to die from starvation and other causes. Arab fighter who had come to Iraq to fight the US whip up more anti American fervor.

- I think much of what you fear happening here is what is now happening.

There is already chaos in large parts of Iraq, there is already a humanitarian nightmare and it would be hard for anti-US feeling to get much greater amongst many many Iraqis......and the truth is that much of the 'trouble' is not coming from outside, some is, but mostly it is Iraqis angry at the state of their shattered country. .

- I'm sorry but every once in a while someone writes something really really stupid on here and today this is it.

Give it up man. There is no Iraqi bomb, there never was an actual bomb nor nothing close to one. Had there been it would have been found by now; wake up.

There can be no cobbling of one together from 'secret hidden' parts, the 'secret, hidden' parts do not exist and the idea of a suck-it-and-see amatuer RATO (rocket assisted take off) launch of something like a Mig 29 (or any plane for that matter) from any old sizable boat, in secret, is so laughable as to be almost beyond belief.

Where did you get this idea from? Your military fan-pals at kindergarden?
Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Go look up the years the west's and the east's (Russians/WARPAC) airforces spent trying to work out a way of doing RATO and the specialist equipment used......and how it was extremely difficult, expensive, dangerous and, ultimately, not worth the bother.

No-one is 'just' going to manage it with sufficient rage and will-power, no matter how fanatical you fear and imagine them to be.

Still wanna pull out?

- What? You think you ludicrous scenario would have anyone change their mind?

Or shall we fight the Islamassists in THEIR yard not ours.

- That's what is being tried right now and it seems clear to me that you aren't feeling any safer for it, right?

......or do you just prefer to ignore this statement of the completely obvious?

Let non extreme Muslims come to power and establish a legitamit goverment

- generally speaking that is absolutely unlikely while a war is going on, wouldn't you say?

......and since when did 'the people' ever confer legitimacy upon a government preferred by an occupying power anywhere?

(yeah the US will need to shore it up for a while)

- If you mean it that's a slight understatement!

But do we bleed there or do our children bleed here. Look what happened in Russia.

- Hmmm. I would suggest that you find out a lot more about the historic relations between Chetchnya and Ingushetia before you buy this 'international Islamic threat' stuff wholesale.

Given the methods and actions Stalin used throughout the Crimea I'd say a lot more of it is down to the historic hatreds he sowed rather than any crap that this was anything like how it is being presented regarding Islam and Al Quada.

I dont mean to flame you man, really, but my 2cents/pennies is that your idea is completely off the wall absurd and you could do with some more thought, er, on second thoughts make that quite a bit more thought and research, about it all.

Its Muslim Spun Proaganda, pure and simple. Where is the information along with these stories of the 100s of fighters killed to the US's 3 losses (not fact just an example) . Both sides do it. Its part of war. Things are as bad as these posts put it and things are not as good as the US puts it. We will never know the truth except for those who are there.

ITs hard to get more resistance fighters when you post losses instead of gains.

PS there are also alot of Iraq police being killed. and they do it for almost no pay. Makes you think that some Iraqies dont like the forein fighting resistance in Iraq. Which is most of the so called resistance, have you read any Al Queida (spelling) proaganda latley. Even they says its fighters from all over. But the Iraq Police .. ALL IRAQIES.

YOu are right when you say people are blind yourself included.
