Therein lies the problem, the United States is not and was never supposed to be a democracy, even when at times it has been called so. In a democracy
the mob or mayority rules.
In a democracy 51% of the people can take away the rights of the 49%. In the Republic of the United States, as it was formed by the founding fathers,
EVERYONE including the minority have equal rights. The founding fathers knew the dangers of mob rule, which is why they included the ellectoral
college in our voting process.
The socialist/communist mantra has ALWAYS been that they give power to the people, but they never do. They only give power to the STATE/Government,
which is exactly what the left in the U.S. wants.
First off, it's
really stupid to pontificate about representative government, and then whine about power in hte hands of the government... that
is representing us... via votes... from voters. What, you don't see the disconnect? Right, I forget you guys think "government" is some sort of space
alien.
Also, I'm not sure you understand what democracy is. Mob rule is indeed a form of it. So is our representative system. So is the parliamentary system
in other nations. "Democracy" is a broad category, and to act smart and say "The US is not a democracy" just marks you as poorly-educated.
Did you not watch the videos I gave earlier? These people include regular business owners as "the top 1%" In their eyes ANYONE who owns
ANYTHING is part of the top 1%.
Congratulations. you've managed to collect a handful of videos that center on a few ignorant individuals. Clearly they must represent the
millions, right?
The next thing that will happen, unless the American people wake up, is that more power will be given to the government/state, but instead of
controlling the corporations, the changes that will take effect will be controlling the people even more, and taxing us even more...
Ever considered - okay, this is rhetorical, I
know you've never considered - that the American people have, in fact, awoken? That maybe it is
you who are in a fogged stupor? I mean think about it here for a moment... We've got millions of Americans out there right now, as part of a
movement for economic justice, an end to moneyed corruption of our system, and an end to corporate control of our nation. And they're "asleep" while
you, who seem to have nothing better to do than sit here online and snivel about being an adult and paying taxes, are the one who is supposedly
"awake"?
Yeah... no. Reality's not on your side in this, chubs.
What is happening today is the culmination of over 100 years of disinformation, and brainwashing of the American people, and the corruption in
government which occurred thanks to the "progressives" starting in 1913.
Over a hundred years, starting ninety-eight years ago. I understand you're aiming more for "flamboyant rhetoric" than "fact" here, but you could at
least
try, man.
"Disinformation" and "brainwashing"? Citation, please? I'm sure I could counter it all with the John Birch BS that's clearly been hammered into your
head.
Where did I say that I approve, or approved the bailouts, or what they have been doing?... HOwever, just because I dissapprove of them doesn't
mean I am going to protest with leftwing organizations who want to give more power to the government because they claim "it will control the
corporations"...
And there we have it. You claim to dislike the bailouts, but refuse to actually oppose them because "leftists" also oppose them.
Newsflash, buddy; government
already has the power to control corporations. In fact, corporations as entities only exist at the whim of
government - you DO know corporate charters are granted by government, right? It's simply refused to exercise this power. Nothing new is being asked
for here. Just millions of Americans voicing their wish that government would exercise the power it has been vested with, over the petulant sniffles
of people like you who will literally slit your own throats if someone told you it would be good for the profits of Chase or JP Morgan.
