As I do not know your views Walker, other than those on gay relationships, this is in no way aimed at you.

What makes me laugh is all the "gay bashers" around that say homosexual relationships are bad, and then straight after posting, go back to their lasbian or threesome porno film.

If it is not okay to be gay, it is not okay to get off watching two women do it.

Walker, not aimed at you mate.

Is it affecting you in anyway? How would it affect you? It is not about destroying the family. Some members in here really do have a narrow mind.

You have inadvertently stumbled on a topic I would like to discuss further. The effemination of males. You can't deny it has happened and continues to happen. If this is the case, then my opinion that there IS a conspiracy to make people either homosexual or accepting of homosexuals might have some fact backing it up.

I just cannot believe there are still people out there who think like you Walkers. Before I came to this site I had no idea there were still so many close minded ignorant homophobes in the world.

This good news. I'm glad it sticks in your craw.

If you'll excuse me, homophobia makes me feel ill.

Star and Flag for this good progressive news OP.

Note... this thread is diverging from the original topic, which is replacing father/mother with parent 1 and 2.

It need not be just about homosexuality, but also divorce, child custody and those born out of wedlock without ever knowing who their biological father is.

It has nothing to do with that. All it is about is putting same sex couple as parent 1 or parent 2 on a child's passport. The exact same way children have their mothers and fathers name on their passports.

How are children now going to call their mumma? Par1?

How can gay couples have children? Maybe the term "child" is outdated now.

Maybe the term "family" should be erased too?

What about terms "motherland" or "fatherland"?

I recommend everyone read "We" from Yevgeny Zamyatin.

en.wikipedia.org...

It's about time everyone gets educated properly to understand what kind of times are upon us.

In the future there will be only "female and male numbers".

His novel We, while often discussed as primarily a political satire on the totalitarianism he perceived in the Soviet Union, is significant in other aspects as well. It may variously be examined as (1) a polemic against the optimistic scientific socialism of H. G. Wells whose works Zamyatin had previously published and with the heroic verses of the (Russian) Proletarian Poets, (2) as an example of Expressionist theory and (3) as an illustration of the archetype theories of Carl Jung as applied to literature. George Orwell believed that Aldous Huxley's Brave New World (1932) must be partly derived from We.[3] However, in a 1962 letter to Christopher Collins, Huxley says that he wrote Brave New World as a reaction to H.G. Wells' utopias long before he had heard of We.[4][5] Kurt Vonnegut said that in writing Player Piano (1952) he "cheerfully ripped off the plot of Brave New World, whose plot had been cheerfully ripped off from Yevgeny Zamyatin's We."[6] In 1994, We received a Prometheus Award in the "Hall of Fame" category.[7]

How about:

Family Unit 1
Family Uint 2
Family Unit 3

and so on. That way we cannot discriminate at all as we will not know who is who.

The point I am trying to get across, which other members seem to miss.

They are not changing. the mother/father part on a child's passport.

They are just giving same sex couples the right to have their names on their child's passports.

While I understand they want to avoid discrimination I see nothing wrong with listing homosexual couples with children as Father and Father (Mother, Mother) or Father 1 and Father 2. I understand that gender and sexual orientation are things they want to avoid discrimination against but these seems to be going just a tad overboard. I'm lukewarm about this one, could go over way. The title of the article/thread seems to imply something overwhelmingly negative as if families will cease to exist and life as the UK knows it will end simply because they aren't listing the gender of the parents

You make a valid point !

When the love turns sour, ( any relationship is vulnerable to this) which invariably it can, what happens to the kids then ?

Only one parent is biologically related to the child, so if they break up, where does the non biological parent stand ?

Could they be replaced with a non biological "Parent 3" ? Or do they simply resume the role of "Parent 2" ?

This is gonna get confusing, especially if we have to extend these rights to heterosexual step families, because there is no way my Ex's partner is ever going on my daughters passport.

As a mother for as long as I can still be named on a passport as "Mother" then I have no problem with it, if I were to be referred to as "Parent 1" then I would not support it, to be termed as anything but, I find deeply offensive, and would infringe upon my equality, to be recognised as the mother of my children.

Some people like to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

The 'Mother and Father' will still be that. They are both parents, or do people think that this will confuse them and cause break downs in their family unit?

I'm more concerned at kids who have bad absent parents.

In which case, as I agree with you, I think you should be given a choice. The traditional "Mother and Father" form or the new "Parent 1 and Parent 2". If there is a choice, there is no conflict with traditional values.

That is what they are proposing.

The choice to have this on their child's passport. The mother/father part wont be erased as some have tried to point out. That will stay. It gives Same sex couples the choice wither or not to have Parent 1 and Parent 2 on the passport rather than Mother and Father. Thank you for understanding.

Could there be any other reasons for this?

Although, personally i have no problem with "Parent1" and "Parent2" issue, which i do not think destroys the traditional family, i have a huge issue with things like this: (Taken from your Source)

The subject about novelties in the field of gender relations has been getting more and more popular recently. Not so long ago, Pravda.Ru wrote about the kindergarten in Sweden, which became world-famous after its administration decided to simply abolish the use of ‘he’ and ‘she’ pronouns.

Upon searching for the article mentioned there i found it.

The category of gender was canceled at one of Swedish kindergartens. The words "boy" and "girl" are no longer used there, while pronouns "he" and "she" were replaced with "it". Kindergarten teachers believe that they are successfully breaking the gender stereotypes so that the people of two sexes would not feel predominant towards each other. Experts say, though, that such seeming equality may lead to the genetic rebirth of the population and to the decline of human civilization.

Source

That is really disgusting, in my opinion. Who knows maybe that will be the next step to the whole issue.

Peace

This board is filled with rants from men who feel that their manhood is being stolen from them, most are badly written, illogical rants, if you make a well thought out, polite, post I will be there to discuss with you, though I do actually agree that there IS a conspiracy to suppress what nature, over millions of years of evolution, has made our genders perfect for...and I'm a woman.

I'll look out for your intelligent, thought out, polite, and factually based post in the near future. In the meantime I will try and stay on topic

It takes one egg and one sperm to make a child.

That means one woman and one man.

The sperm donor is the father, and the egg donor is the mother.

The child may be raised by 2 people that aren't the child's parents, I've heard them called "guardians".

But I can assure you of this, if a child is raised by 2 women, they aren't both parents. There was a sperm involved in the creation of that child that came from somewhere. Whoever made that sperm is one of the parents.

Homosexuality is just wrong. Brainwashing children into thinking that this perverted way of living is acceptable is even worse. No ifs, no buts.

Who says it's wrong and don't say the bible.

Just because YOU think it's wrong doesnt mean it is.

I have no problem with homosexuality. It doesn't affect my life so why should I care who another person chooses to love and have a family with? If they are happy that is all that matters. It shouldn't matter who that partner is.

OP this is just weird to me. I dont see why they have to label it this way it just seems so impersonal but I get why it's being done.
