The government should have nothing to do with unemployment. The government does not create jobs that create value for the people, only private enterprises do.

I agree, if someone is unemployed for a long, long time it's because of their own actions and habits. There are many different ways to get employed and/or make a buck legally.

This for example...

Well, it was nice of Soros to direct attention away from the Fed. It's easier to think about the pathetic rich than the evil shadow government. It's been a relief not thinking about the scary Red Shield. I can handle hating on some Beatles fans.

Work to get people refocused on this "correct target" - End the Fed. Mises.org is also a great learning tree for understanding the econ/monetary issues.

sorry that was Mises.org

Yep. End the Fed. Show money printed as increase in money supply rather than increase in debt.

The debt that matters is what is owed to private parties and foreign nations.

Debt owed to Fed is illogical as Fed does not have any money to lend.

I agree it should be to end the fed, but everyone on ATS already knows about the fed, so getting the message out here is pointless, that message needs to be brought to those who don't. The good thing is they are raising awareness about the federal reserve, Opie and Anthony show has mentioned it several times, hopefully more shows will and people will start actually look into it for themselves.

Is anybody on this site paying attention to anything that's really going on with this movement?? Do we really have to pick the whole apart piece by piece by piece. If everyone would just go to www.occupytogether.org they would see the the Occupy movement is spreading EVERYWHERE. It is not limited to just wall street (which is an integral part in what has happened to America I don't care what say). This beast we are fighting is a MANY headed hydra. Of course the fed needs to be targeted! That's all we talk about on ATS lol come on people. Instead of arguing over where we should be protesting start a occupy the fed or occupy DC (of course have you even bothered to see if it's been started already?). I'm sorry people but instead of throwing stones get your A$$es out on the street and get your hands a little dirty... or are you afraid you might dirty up your keyboard????

Unfortunately, its going to be hard for the majority of America to get behind OWS,when its being hijacked by those who have the most to lose. Namely Obama, and those working for him, under the many banners they have. Just ask yourself why they havnt picketed the White House.....Its where the bankers do most of there business anyways........Now you know.

I don't pretend to know the answer to the problem, but if we want manufacturing jobs to return (and we need them to) we need to stop allowing imports and start thinking local. We need to be in this together as americans. And, if there is a fixed amount of money to go around, let's look at professional sports. Quit going to pro sports events and supporting those out of control salaries. It shouldn't cost the average joe what it does to see a pro football, baseball or basketball game to support those salaries. And what about hollywood and the music industry. There are people making way too much money also. Don't just pick on wallstreet - there are alot of other places that have high concentrations of wealth, and we, whether we know it or not are enabling it.

Then when are we going to realize that anytime something like this gets started it will get "hijacked" like the tea party or OWS? Once again that means the responsibility falls on OUR shoulders for allowing this to happen. Sitting on ATS yelling into the internet void isn't solving anything... That's all I'm trying to say is if enough people start to follow this movement then maybe it can be steered in the right direction. It's the people here on ATS that know the game and how it's played.

So the banks getting little interest rates from central banks and other large institutions for feit money and then lending it out to the public for a substantial rate increase has nothing to do with it?

When I went to Walmart one day, they asked if I wanted a credit card.. I inquired what the interest was and she replied, 29%.

There will be individuals who are looking to spread or blind side individuals to look elsewhere for there frustrations.

I'll just blame corporate and banking greed thank you very much, anyone others that you wish to blame is entirely up to you.

I agree... You can have the stock market but just cut out all of the insider trading, derivatives, etc. All of the bullcrap that helped create the housing bubble in the first place. And yes I agree with everybody the Fed definitely needs to go. Who wants to help get that part of the protest in place? Maybe we could be the few who don't get caught up in party politics?

I totally agree that we need to get rid of the Fed and do away with central banking (compound interest, fractional-reserve-banking, fiat money). I also agree that Wall Street, though culprits of one of the largest robberies in our nation history, is but a symptom of a larger problem of government selective regulation and deregulation. But this

OWS movement and is slowly but surely transforming it into a class and race war for their benefit

I think is wrong because the wealthy and influential have been waging class war against the working and middle class since at least the 80's. When the middle and working class fight back all of a sudden it gets labeled class war, which is a double standard.

Another thing that I see people misunderstanding is that the OWS protesters are only protesting Wall street. That is false, they are protesting our system of governance as well as our government. They are protesting laws(loop holes) that allow Wall Street to borderline legally steal and gamble. They are protesting cuts to certain programs that help the most vulnerable amongst us (sick, elderly, children and extremely poor) while refusing to tax corporations fairly. They are protesting lobbying, campaign funding and donations, and are protesting the so called revolving door of private and business (Goldman Sachs, Monstanto, Exxonmobil) sector. There are many things which they are protesting not just the "rich". It's not that simplistic.
