Music is the one true thing in my soul...

I know that we are all different ages and we all like different types of music, but I want to know a few things about people's individual tastes in music here on ATS....

So can you tell we your age now....

Your favourite year of music and your most favourite song from that year....

I also want to know what one song means that most to you in your life...

What one album would you have above all others...

My answers are.....

Age 46

Favourite year of music 1979, with my favourite song of that year being Gangsters by The Specials..

The song that means the most to me and always gives me goosebumps is Kentucky Avenue by Ton Waits..

Favourite album is Searching for the Young Soul Rebels by Dexy's Midnight Runners...

I know it's not easy, but these are the choices...

I look forward to the results, especially the folks who are quite young at the moment, but are more interested with music way before their time....

Cheers

I'm 19 and I don't necessarily have a favorite year for music. Although I do collect Hip-Hop (mostly alternative, electronic, jazz, underground, etc.) music from the 80's to now. I have an obsession with Hip-Hop and I find myself confiding in it at times. It's sort of like my stress reliever; makes me feel tranquil.

Here is one of my favorite songs though:

Pigeon John, J-Live & RJD2 - Sunshine

An album which I find to be a musical masterpiece is, "Rip The Jacker" by Canibus. Here is a song by him which does mean a lot to me, however it's not on the album.

Canibus - Good Equals Evil

That Gerard McMann track I have heard before, I quite like it, sounds slightly like Peter Gabriel.....

Dead Can Dance, I am not familiar with, but will look them up.....

That's what I like about this, new stuff you have never heard comes to the fore...

I do like some dance and techno, but I must admit it drives me mad after a while, but there has been some great tracks ovrer the years. I do rate Karl Cox though. On a slightly different note,I am into Bentley Rhythm Ace, I don't know if you like them...

I'm like InshaAllah, don't really have a fave year and I have way too many fave bands from a few genres of music.

Turned 27 earlier this year by the way.

Anyway, I always liked to listen to (with samples, bad language ahoy in one or two):

Metallica (my favourite band of all time, the video maker put some wrong lyrics on but meh)

Madness

Pantera

Judas Priest

Megadeth

Strapping Young Lad

Oh i know nobody is going to watch this but i forgot UGK from houston. that is definitly on the list.

i the above song was released around 1996

then pimp c went to prison for a while and after he was out bun b n pimp c released this gem

bobby refering to bobby browns weed adiction and whitney is mention by the key in referance to coc aine i guess

sometime before 2010 pimp c was found dead in a l.a. hotel after doing a show that night. he died because of promethzine....and sleep apnea

this video was released after his death so they couldn't film a video for it, so they had pictures of the group before he died.

RIP CHAD BUTLER

he's gone now and will be missed
