Yeah . . . many of them are kids . . . and byproducts of a once-proud education system that in years past churned out a better finished product as opposed to the 'lowest common denominator' load of crap touchy feely system we've got going now.

No wonder they seem a bit . . . well . . . less intellectually inclined.

That being said, at least they're savvy enough to realize their fiscal future was sabotaged by bailouts to the banksters and muckity-muck of Wall Street. Yet further, I'm glad they've got the gumption to get up off their collective behinds to voice their opinions, however misguided it may seem.

Too bad that can't be said for my generation, but that's probably because we're relatively certain that in the twenty or thirty years we've got left on this sphere, we'll make out OK because we had the opportunity to throw a bit aside during the salad years.

For these kids, there aren't going to be any salad years . . .

That is what scares me; it can be the only extension at this point because the scam that is our monetary policy does one thing and one thing only, produce more debt. What happens when the world cannot pay back the loans, or even the interest on the debt? It makes no sense whatsoever that the amount of debt owed collectively by the world is several times the amount of money available to pay for it. This ponzi bonanza is coming to an end and our lifestyle along with it.

You do realize that this 'misguided' generation is a product of your generation, correct? So as much as you want to stick your nose up in the air at these kids, realize that the collective ignorance and apathy towards criminal government behavior from the previous generation has given birth to the same gen that you're tossing under the bus.

This attitude shared by the older generation of Americans is flat out sickening. I remember growing up all you were told is how great America is and the people, and when you finally come of age the only thing that you realize is that you live around a bunch of cut throat animals who are flat out clueless.

I will give you 100 stars if I could, I saw this coming, I knew that our corporatist Obama was nothing but a corporate whore the propaganda that he was a socialist or even a communist felt in the hands of those that pushed that agenda.

He has given more powers to corporate America that even Bush had, now the corrupted agencies will have free reign over the consumer, to make your life miserable, but guess what he can claim he is creating jobs

I wonder if the new debt collectors agencies will be a new branch of the IRS along with the Obamacare enforcers.

You're bang on in your post . . . and I guess I didn't explain myself enough. I truly feel horrible about the future of the world and the legacy we've left. Collectively, we've all been so inwardly and short-term focused and the result is what you see playing out on the world's stage.

I'm more pissed at my generation for not caring much about what comes next and for not getting in on voicing ourselves collectively to make some sort of change.

In years past, it was about greed.

Now it is about survival.

I can agree with that! It's amazing how people want to throw generations that they taught under the bus LMAO. I also think this movement is also a way to educate those that do not understand what is really going. Overall this movement is the best thing I have seen in a long time.

It is sad that I remember when I went to college it was free and subsidized, now our children have to get indebted to corrupted banking institutions in order to get an education, then they get out of college with a debt to the government and the bankers and have to compete with foreign students for grants, foreign workers with H1B visas and a nation that its true unemployment rates are in the 17% and not what the sugar coated numbers the government give away are.

watch that 3 hour video

I wonder that unions jump on the OWS bandwagon... labor party birthing?

All business... as usual

can't handle truth I guess... keep ignoring it, it matters little at this point anyway

That's what happens when Obama's top economic advisors in his cabinet are former Goldman Sachs executives. That's why I have no use for partisan labels because in all honesty besides minor cosmetic differences both democrats and republicans in the upper level political game are both one and the same, at least when it comes down to foreign policy and economic policy.

In all honesty when Obama hysteria was gaining momentum, I was paying attention to his visit to the bilderbergers and his appointment of Joe Biden and most of his cabinet members, which told a different story of change altogether.

Glad you see the deceptions and the lies for what they are, but then again, who runs the government of the US, yes you know I know and I hope that people out there starts to realized it too.

At the OP: Your attitude is the kind that has destroyed our nation. This isn't about Obama, not everything is about people's obsession of lightly disguised racism.

What makes you think that all these protesters even like Obama?
So you are either trolling or ridiculously ignorant.

I guess I am just dumb, because I don't get the problem.

I too had a student loan way back when. And I paid it off. If I missed payments they called my home and asked me why.
Thats what creditors do. You make a loan and collect it.
If you take out a loan you pay it.

The only thing here is that now they can find your cell number because as stated in the quote, not many have land lines anymore.

So how does this relate to a bad thing? Loan repayment is expected is it not?

I support Occupy and I'm a Ron Paul supporter, certainly not an Obama supporter.
I'm 44 and I'm far from being a 'kid'.

Some like him some don't and others simply don't know what to think. Watch the video of one of the protesters wishing for his reelection. Sadly, she can't explain why she even wishes for it. I never said they ALL like Obama. I've clearly seen a mixture of discontent and support. Although what I see most is confusion and lack of focus from a group of misguided wanderers.

The OP is a warning to those protesting on Wall Street and elsewhere. For some reason a faction of protesters are pissed about the Student Loan debt that they signed for. This administration is gunning for these kids in order to finance more govt. spending.

Occurs the government needs more spending money, the government needs tax payer dollars to increase the debt so they can manufacture stimulus to create jobs so actually we the tax payer are paying for the spending to create jobs, but what is been use actually is to sugar coat GDP numbers that any type of spending will boost those numbers regardless if the money is put to good used or not.

uh hem...

It's just as easy to hang up a cell phone, as it is to hang up a land line.

Just saying.

Well I can give you one guess as to how Obama intends to fund part of his reelection. I am sure some PAC somewhere is about to unload millions in to the Obama coffer. This won't just allow debt collectors to harass people on the cell phone - it'll extend beyond that. The whole reason we stopped using the spam-line and started using cell phones will be destroyed.

Obama is shifting further toward the center as he seeks reelection. He's already shifted to the right quite a bit, but this is further proof. To be sure, his advisers made a mistake as students helped elect him the first time around; he's eroding part of his base with this bill.

Edit: The question now stands, what are republican and democrat ideals today, in fall 2011. What has changed in our political leanings and why?

Glad I didn't rely on student loans to get through two degrees and a college certificate although I was so broke during those ten years, the only thing I could pay was attention.
Nice.

I do hope the 'Wall Street Kids' realize Obama is not the savior and is as much a part of the problem as anyone else.
