I've seen that first hand down here in Australia.

I was at a family gathering in Fingal Bay, NSW sitting on the second story balcony enjoying a few beers and watching it. For the most part it was blue but we did see flecks of greens and reds in it too.

Simply marvellous!

Very neat natural phenomena. For those who have never experienced or heard of this, its stems from a Red Tide, which is an algal bloom. The algae gets agitated in the waves and actually causes a chemical reaction in the phyto plankton which causes the glow.

Algal Blooms

Some pictures of satellite images of blooms in the earths oceans and info on phytoplankton Phytoplankton

Very neat, would love to see one of these in real life.

I tried so hard to get a picture of the red tide. Digistal cameras dont do well in the dark. I was at Cardiff by the Sea the other night and the whole coast was lit up! awsome to see!!

Wow, very cool.

I got to swim in the bio lum bay in Puerto Rico. One of the greatest times in my life.

Felt like a little kid again. In all this chaos nice to see something truly amazing.
