I think i heard it at 03.48 so i don't think Europe is gonna get it. hopefully it will hit the ocean. I,m in Ireland by the way. I think its travelling too fast to make ground in the UK or Spain or France hopefully.

But like i said in my last post it was very similar in noise to a airliner but the sound was kind of patchy.

Just giving my observation.

Thanks, Albert.

I am thinking it is going to land in an ocean probably the pacfic or atlantic. A good part of that area is water.

I'm with you on that, not sure it will make another trip around the earth now! Fingers crossed it hits an ocean.

Anyone here from central Africa?
You might be the last people to see it in the air - in about 10 minutes from now over your head.

Edit - just did an update of the TLE files and its moved forward a bit in the orbit to *now*.

If it is still up there (as it should be for at least a few more minutes) then it is crossing the southern Indian ocean,
then passing south of Australia, missing New Zealand by a tiny bit as it then passes over the Pacific back towards Canada.
It might not make it that far.

Edit - remember of course that the tracking websites arent actually really physically tracking it, just running computer simulations of where it *should* be.
The first real news that it has come down will arrive from NASA, news websites, twitter, and so forth.

Yea, those TLE's are still dated the 22nd at the web site, things are changing so fast that they will be unusable soon unless they push a fast update.

Lots of uncertainly.
TS Kelso, who runs the site that EVERYONE gets the satellite orbital data from, has just tweeted...

T.S. Kelso
Next perigee @ 0530 UTC would put reentry north of New Zealand and east of New Guineau. Not much chance of seeing it there.

...and thats another hour and a half away.
In fact, just mere minutes after it passes over my head.

hey??? my local KOFY News at 9 said they expect it to come down in the next 45 minutes

where is it now?

Hawaii might be able to pick it up on radar. Close though, probably below the horizon. If not we probably won't know if it's still up there until it approaches North America.

Pacific ocean, passing Hawaii, neading northeast towards Seattle/Vancouver, where it will then cross eastward over Canada.
After that it will pass southward over west Africa.

Then it will cross the southern Indian ocean and land right on top of my head in Melbourne, Australia.

Assuming it's still there.
Maybe Hawaii got it on radar. Maybe not.
