Don't worry. A bit ago I was visiting a friend (A fellow Vet) His kids were playing Army and he nudged me and said "watch this".

"Near ambush, He yelled. "three o'clock!"

The kids promptly turned to their right and charged the hedge diving into it, headfirst, all the while making Rat-a-tat noises.

Hilarious, but kinda scary at the same time. ya know?

I'm sure they'll make good Soldiers.

That explains a lot.

Just kidding

It's my odd sense of humor. It doesn't always go over to well.

What a fun thread! I just know that I'm going to repeat some of what's already been posted but here goes...jump rope, jacks, etch-a-sketch, slinky, bubbles, big wheels, roller skates (the kind you strapped onto your shoes), and my dad's tools until he caught me with them *wink*. Wow, there's just so many. Thanks for the awesome trip down memory lane.

I saw one of those Krazy cars yesterday at a garage sale yesterday.

It was gone within 15 minutes and I bet the kid who got it is has the envy of all the other kids.

Kinda wish they were around when I was a kid...they always looked like fun. Your own personal tilt-a-whirl.

I can't believe I forgot this.

I wasn't a particularly active kid. Watching it go down the stairs, and running down to collect it, then back up again to set it off once more was about the zenith of my activity

I was inundated as a child with LEGO and transformers....

had all sorts of crap as a kid,

one day, I think I was about 10, I took out everything I had a layed it out on the floor in my room,

every inch was taken, and I had to start putting toys on top of toys.....

my mum was aghast and helped me put it all away,

but I still remember to this day thinking

"wow, look at all this crap"

Oh yes, I forgot pedal cars -
I had a blue one!

The green machine was the bomb!

lol! the plastic Big Wheels and the funky freaky Green Machine came out years after pedal cars left the scene. the old metal toys got too expensive to make. someone must have got wealthy off Big Wheels, I remember seeing children enjoying them for many years

The stuff I played with as a kid included:
- goodies (nuts, bolts, wooden blocks, wires, screws, nails, tools, old electronic and sound equipment etc) from my grandfathers workshop (he was an electrical and sound engineer);
- the sand pit
- the dog
(best toy ever)
- the cat (when she was in play mood)
- sand and mud in the garden (hosepipe included) - neighbours kid optional
- books
- paper and coloured pencils/ water colours
- lego (still have a whole suitcase of the stuff)
- my little ponies

I burnt the sally doll (flat chested barbi doll I got from my aunt) - I was trying to dry the hair in front of the heater and the whole thing melted.

My mother was never into buying us stuff just for the sake of having stuff to play with or just so we could have the same stuff to play with as the other school kids. No video games.
Our first computer was a hand-me-down from my uncle and the only game on there was Kings Quest 1.

Edit: I forgot - had all sorts of dinosaur stuff from the National Museum.
