BP has promoted their channel on YouTube to get out the official positive spin. The Mormons are happy to promote Mormonism to give the positive spin on Mitt Romney. Now the Libertarians are trying to put the positive spin on Ron Paul. Are the businessmen really that worried about the socialist revolution that they would buy some propaganda for the YouTubers?

Libertarianism is about competition and division. It is about privatization and deregulation. Socialism and regulation are tools to provide for humanity and protect this species. I know my government has willingly failed at this, but I in no way trust the lying, deceiving, and selfish businessman to pick up the pieces. It's everyone for their selves. We have already moved far away from social animal to selfish animal. Libertarianism appeals to the same people who count on winning the lottery. They think they will be on top of the trash heap. The products of capitalism are so overhyped and overpriced, it's almost a pyramid scheme. The salesmen will gladly deceive for the sale.

Here’s the video from the title.

Thank you for reading. Tomorrow I will go back to work for an infamous corporation. Sleep tight.

when you privatize an industry that is not saying one entity owns that industry now. Instead many will compete for business in that sector of the economy and thats what drives prices down...more competition. Just look at wages with illegal aliens running around..Wages = suppressed due to more competition from rats who will do your jobs for less $ but perhaps not as well.

So competition = prices suppressed to the consumer. No competition = high prices to consumer.. More mergers..higher prices and unemployment ^_^.

Only answer? Best weapon an American has..Most powerful of all time. It will make or break nations..Its a weapon of mass destruction at your fingertips..Its called a Boycott. Yep...You are the most powerful person in the history of man kind..the American consumer..You decide if the world economy turns and it will do so to your liking.

Wrap that around your head...

The problem with capitalism in my opinion is that eventually you get businesses with so much wealth and power it becomes impossible for other businesses to compete. It's especially true with telecommunications businesses and energy suppliers. These massive entities have a monopoly. There are mega-corporations who have a higher revenue than the GDP of entire countries. The shareholders of these businesses make incomprehensible amounts of money but can pay out minimal wages to their employees because of their foothold in the market. I am all for deregulation but what are we supposed to do when even our governments start to become influenced by powerful corporate agendas and the super-rich elite control vast amounts of their entire worlds assets? Capitalism is flawed.

The problem with Socialism is that it ALWAYS leads to a two class society. A Ruling Class has all the power and all the wealth, while everyone else does without and shares only in the bones they are tossed by the Ruling Class.

Then something akin to a Party is formed (called a Party in fact) and by joining and willingly subjugating yourself to the Party and turning against decency and your fellow man you receive special treatment.

My point is that any system, Capitalism or its antithesis can be a good thing and should be a good thing. Problem is the people not the system used. The problem has always been with the people.

Give people something for nothing and cradle to grave handouts, they demand more and more until they destroy themselves (see Greece). People become too successful they turn against their fellow man. Give a man power over another and they turn against their fellow man.

There is no system better than another in a Free Society. People are fooling themselves if they think simply changing from Socialism to Capitalism or the other way around will fix anything. But then our Species is easily fooled.

Are you saying socialism has brought the USA to the state it's in?

The solution should be doctrine that provides for a government of the people, by the people, for the people which could only be enforced by a government as opposed to corporations.

Are you saying that if we are clever enough to provide ourselves with necessities for minimal effort, we will use our new found leisure time to demand our collective produce and provide luxuries? I would think that anyone who produced luxuries in their leisure time would want some sort of compensation. Producing necessities would not be done during leisure time, but would be compensated. Those who can but do not contribute to the production of necessities would not be allowed to participate. They may take their extra leisure time and produce luxuries. The compensation they receive from anyone demanding luxuries would allow them to survive as well.

Actually I'm saying that there are issues with all systems of government. An argument can be made against each one while remaining honest about them.

....and also, yes, addicting people to handouts is very much like feeding a wild animal. The wild animal will forget or never learn how to care for themselves which is abuse. We being animals are prone to the same issue.

We as individuals are all flawed and no system can be any better than those inside it. We The People will always screw up, no matter what the system is. Put a good, kind and decent person in a position of absolute power and you will turn them into someone just like those already in power. The old saying about power corrupting is as true as it ever was.

Both Capitalism and Socialism can and do work. The problem is the flawed people in control. We are all conceited enough to actually believe we can do it better or that the reason it failed is because we were not in charge. We are all guilty of ignoring our own faults and instead looking for somewhere else to place the blame.

It is in fact amazing that this country has done as well as it has for this long, considering Humans are in charge.

Right now we are seeing the result of placing a person blinded by an Ideology in charge. So blinded that he is completely unwilling to see beyond his ideology, even when he sees with his own eyes proof it does not work. We see the same from the other side when they end up with an Ideologue on office under their banner.

Look at how we ignore history to our detriment. People convince themselves that the only reason it did not work before is because they were not in charge. The fact is history always repeats but due to our conceit, we go ahead and make the same mistakes again. Only on this stage people are hurt, they suffer and even die because of this conceit.

It sounds like you have no faith in anyone including yourself. I would think transparency at the highest level would prevent those who are too week to resist from corrupting. Sure, their life would be like a reality show during their term, but that would be a better price than the prevailing lopsidedness. I think it would become a game to resist the temptation. They would be cheered on and rewarded by their success.

Great post ,and i agree with your sentiments ,i believe for a Free Society to ever work ,then the whole education system needs to be redesigned ,to try and remove the ingrained green within us all.

Western Society actually promotes greed and selfishness upon us at a early age ,as you say ,in so many words ,it's the flaw in man to want more then the next man.

Untill man learns to use and take only what his needs then we will never have a truly Free Society.

Didn't watch the vid but I'd like to point out some myths.

Capitalism is not free-markets, it is the private ownership of the means of production. It is not the only system that allows free-markets.

Capitalism is not money, capitalism is not investing, it is not running a business. It is the system where private owners make their living from exploiting the labour of those who own no property. Anarchists, and the left in general, saw this as the root of our social problems.

Socialism is not government handouts, it's the workers ownership of the means of production. It is not government, or state, as neither are required for socialism, thus most Anarchists support a socialist economy.
Anarchism is simply stateless socialism...

"Anarchism is stateless socialism", Michael Bakunin, in "Stateless Socialism: Anarchism" as translated in The Political Philosophy of Bakunin (1953) by G.P. Maximoff

Bakunin is known as the farther of Anarchism.

Originally 'Libertarianism' was a left wing term first used politically by Anarchists, as the term Anarchism was being demonized by the state.

The first person to use the term 'libertarian' was a French Anarchist, Joseph Déjacque in 1880. Then from that the term 'Libertarian Socialism' was coined to replace the term 'Anarcho-Socialism'.

Socialism puts the means of production in the hands of the people so we can produce what we need. Under capitalism the means of production are controlled, and resources kept artificially scarce, in order to maintain profits for the private owner, at the expense of those who need those resources.

Technological capacity to produce enough to satisfy everyone's needs already exists globally and has done so for many decades. Yet needs continue to remain unmet on a massive scale. Why? Quite simply because scarcity is a functional requirement of capitalism itself.
