0241: Police have said that rival gangs are now starting fights at King’s College Hospital after two gang members were admitted with minor wounds.

0237: Effra Road, Brixton, is now clear of crowds, reports Sean Cameron. Situation at Curry’s still fluid – police in the area and lots of looters still walking off with stuff.

0310: Update from the Met Police:

“Police are tonight responding to copycat criminal activity across London and are deploying officers to tackle it.

There has been looting in a number of boroughs in north, east and south London by small and mobile groups. Groups of youths continue to attack police officers and a number of police vehicles have been damaged.

Three officers have been taken to hospital after being hit by a fast moving vehicle at approx 00:45hrs. The officers were in the process of making arrests in Chingford Mount, Waltham Forest, in connection with youths looting a shop. Two officers are believed to have superficial injuries and the other has an injury to his knee.”

0316: Westfield staff member says that police escorted staff out of the building and to the local taxi rank; nobody was allowed to leave alone. Warnings also given out about possible attacks.

0327: Coldharbour Lane in Brixton has apparently calmed down as well, with the only people present being bored policemen and cars driving away from the area.

I live in LA. Was in Inglewood during the Watts Riots, Just outside of Simi for the LA riots and now work in Fullerton for the Trifecta.

Ok this goes two ways now very rapidly,

(1 the police do the right thing and suspend the officer without pay and begin to press charges against him for unlawfully killing someone, and not half hearted charges that get lifted when it blows itself out.
this could be the only thing that could give the victims family the power they need when they stand up and ask the rioters to stop what they are doing and let justice do its thing.

2) The police muddle on trying to contain riots that tonight break out in possibly any city with a dissaffected population living at its heart.
The police may try to firefight the situation, they need to stop it before it gets tottally out of control.

Anarchist organisations have been waiting for the match to light it all off, will this be it, will this be the one that goes around the world.....

You can expect to see the government try and move the poor out of the city centers and into the burbs where all they will destroy is there own homes, at some point in the future.

yep everyone should just lie down and continue to accept extra judicial killings as a way of life.
think what you like but if their actions make the police think twice about using deadly force on unarmed civilians, then i appreciate what they are doing.

What else does the government listen to, platitudes and nice formal requests?, get real.

a gun is not a fashion accessory it has only one purpose and that is to kill .
the police did the right thing.

the riots are just an excuse to rob and loot , they should read the riot act and shoot the looters on sight

Apparently the riots are spreading to Southgate, Winchmore Hill, Barnet, Mare St, Camden & Willesden tonight. The fire spreads.

Wood Street in Walthamstow has recently been closed off. A big march was due at 3pm but I can't confirm if that took place.

Tottenham Hale retail park shut completely. All shop windows covered with sheets of MDF.

Sirens and helicopters in Lewisham right now.

This has now been confirmed over 200 youths in broomfield park , heading towards palmera green
