Inmate Juan Ramirez Tijerina is curled inside a suitcase after he tried to escape from prison with the help of his girlfriend following a conjugal visit in Chetumal, Mexico.

Conjugal Visit Led To Mexico Prison Break

WOMAN has been caught trying to sneak her common-law-husband out of a Mexican prison in a suitcase following a conjugal visit.

Staff at the prison in Chetumal yesterday noticed that the woman seemed nervous and was pulling a black, wheeled suitcase that looked bulky, police say.

Prison guards checked the bag of 19-year-old Maria del Mar Arjona and found inmate Juan Ramirez Tijerina curled up inside in the foetal position.

He is serving a 20-year sentence for a 2007 conviction for illegal weapons possession.

The woman was arrested and charges are pending.

I guess when you have to spend 20 years in a mexican jail, anything is worth a try....

20 Years for a weapons charge? seems excessive...but don't know the details of the charge.

He looks like he has bruising on his face as well...wonder what he is having to endure in that mexican prison?

My thought on the bruising was that there may have been some S&M or rough/kinky stuff during the conjugal visit

In regard to the term of his sentence i thought that too, it seemed abit excessive... unless he was a repeat offender.

You're joking...right? My first thought was he was getting roughed up or worse in that prison, hence the gf going to such extremes to get him out of there.

Who knows how he got that bruising.. The joke came from the report that it was after a conjucal visit (being one on one time for the prisoner and their partner) and that the bruising and redness seemed very fresh..

Sorry to make you explain..I figured you must have been joking, but you can never be to sure on this board.

The story really seems to me like a gf desperate to help someone she cares about who is going to suffer abuse for 20 long years.
