Well I don't see much Vietnam can do to them at sea other than shout curses at them from the beach.

Even if Russia wanted to supply them with ships China definetly has the advantage here.

Will be a very interesting development to watch however.

Isn't South Vietnam still allies with America?,, they tried to tell them in the sixties that this would happen,, but no mr bill,,, they wouldn't listen would they.

Then Washington decided that they had to approve ALL actions taken by the military down to attacking individual targets.

we have had a ring side seat to what happened then that happened now.

All because of the Ya-who River,,,??,,, had they met the Chinese with an intact supply line,, and not fell for the ambush,,,,, (which too this day i blame on the U.N,, but that's another story.)

Then Vietnam would have been one country.

the us military has only one function to kill her enemy and win nothing else

never pull that card out haphazardly and when you do tell them victory and get the hell out of the way.

Viet Nam was a "police action"politically trickling in just what the white house thought was necessary and getting our most lethal combatants killed in the process.Brilliant men who taught us how to face horrible enemy activity and responding with equal force/tactics.Good or Evil they do remember us.
In Desert Storm We had no politics until they said stop.The Russians and the rest of the world were quite shocked at what we did as quick as we did it.
Had we declared war and had it been a truthful reason things would have been VERY different,but my soldiers were excellent and they have my respect and pride.

could not hold onto Vietnam.

Good let them expend their energy there then with the US. No one has ever come out on top with Vietnam the French tried the US tried and others. They just dig in and out last anyone, course China was thier secret ally when the US military was there. In fact I would not be surprised if this was CIA contrived to distract China's attention from the US.
