The scary part is, I would bet that these are the common themes and beliefs being perpetuated in the homes of many Latinos. These ideas didn't just come into the classes out of thin air. ...

I would just like to jump in for a second and say that no, this is not in fact what goes on in Latino homes. I am Puerto Rican ( granted I am automatically an American citizen by birth) However, I can assure you that we are not plotting to take away land that was so obviously hard won. I feel slightly offended that you would blanket all Latinos when then is a minority view. Much like the view that everyone not of the Caucasian race should go back to where they came from ( rofl)

Emphasis mine. I didn't know they changed the definition of many to mean 'all.' I also don't see where or when I insinuated about all non-whites leaving the US.

As for assimilating, I don't know where you are from exactly, but around here everyone gets along with everyone. We retain our old culture, but we can branch out into society. Maybe you should hang around more positive people than the gang members you must have had a run in with. Also, the whole dey tuk ur jobs is getting really old. Especially since I hardly think you were washing dishes or picking fruit from fields.

I don't know if this was directed at me, as I didn't discuss assimilation here. Additionally, I have never hung around gang members, and most of my experience with latino immigrants has been with day laborers and custodial services. Just to avoid any confusion, by 'most' I mean the majority of, not all. Unless I missed that meeting too.

If this was reversed and it was a Caucasian cultures study which said the exact same thing (just fixed to fit the culture of course) would there be as little reporting about the story as this, or would there be a national uproar?

I'm surprised it's being reported at all considering how leftist the press is. Oh wait, I forgot. The major news outlets aren't reporting it. Only the blogs and independents. But to your question, if the situation were reversed, you can bet that the major news outlets would be all over it.

Well, you just destroyed the leftist view that this is any kind of propaganda. Although without providing links or your unborn child they won't believe it. Excellent find, sir.

As to the people arguing about "who did what to who" hundreds of years ago, perhaps you should crack open a history book. But not one from a public school. I mean one that actually teaches history. These people calling the whites "gringos" and talking about how the white man stole their land have a very short memory. The lands they are crying about belonged to the Native Americans first. And who were the first to spread tyranny, slavery, genocide, disease, rape? Well that would be the Spanish, beginning with that humanitarian Christopher Columbus who took great delight at every turn cheating and abusing the natives of North America! Spain perfected their methods of dehumanization over a span of almost 150 years before white Europeans even arrived.

So the Chicanos, or Latinos, or Mexicans or whatever they want to call themselves now, as well as you Left-Aide drinkers sympathizing with them, need to remember that while they are damning whites for "taking their lands", their ancestors are the ones that started and perfected a special brand of genocide before this continent even knew whites existed.

Does any of this mean that whites weren't culpable in the destruction of the natives of N.A.? Of course not. But whites aren't the only criminals in this story. Not by a long shot.

Yes, of course, these people are peddling Socialism/Marxism as well as the reconquista of the Southwest. The illegal immigration rallies had tables full of books on Leninism, Marxism and tons of Che Guevara t shirts and posters, as well as hanging the American flag upside down underneath the Mexican flag. By the way, did anyone here notice the Che Guevara pic that was in one of the Obama campaign offices during the election cycle?

some comments by reconquistas:

Miguel Perez, a La Raza spokesman at Cal State-Northridge, says, “The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.”

“This is war!” claims Phoenix student Aldemar Cruz. “Republicans may have stopped the DREAM Act, but they won’t prevent La Reconquista from happening. “White people, watch out!”

thomasjeffersonclubblog.wordpress.com...
LaRaza Mob Shuts Down Tucson School Board Meeting.

For the past several years in Arizona, the Tucson Unified School District has spent millions of dollars on its “Mexican-American Studies” studies curriculum. These programs are designed to teach students in the district that America is an evil, racist empire and that the American Southwest is really Aztlan—the ancestral home of the Aztecs that rightfully belongs to Mexico. The classes were so racist that one of the teachers in the program, John Ward, wrote in 2008 that “the basic theme of the curriculum was that Mexican-Americans were and continue to be victims of a racist American society driven by the interests of middle and upper-class whites.” The classes, many of which are taught by unlicensed teachers, also preached revolution against the U.S. and praised Che Guevara and other Latino revolutionaries.

Now this is what happened at the School Board Meeting.

On April 26, 2011, the TUSD board of governors was scheduled to have a public meeting about the Raza Studies program and how to design it in accordance with HB 2281. The meeting had to be canceled, however, after dozens of Raza Studies students stormed the meeting room, chained themselves to the board members’ chairs, chanted pro-Mexican slogans and pounded tables. Police stood by and did nothing. One Latino school board meeting called it a, “peaceful demonstration.”

And now read the truest words you'll ever read!

Image a crowd of white protesters storming a School Board meeting, removing board members from the table, chaining themselves to the chairs, pounding the tables, shouting thru megaphones and creating an overall atmosphere of chaos and intimidation. THE POLICE WOULD HAVE MOVED IN IMMEDIATELY TO ARREST THEM AND AND EVERY MAJOR NEWSPAPER IN AMERICA WOULD HAVE CARRIED A FRONT PAGE STORY OF THE RACIST WHITE MOB. Patriots, we are losing our country. America Awake!

Blowing the whistle on a La Raza school.

Now this teacher was fed-up with what was going on and tryed to bring it to the attention of the school board, he was called:

When I raised these concerns, I was told that I was a “racist,” despite being Hispanic. Acknowledging my heritage, the Raza studies staff also informed me that I was a vendido, the Spanish term for "Sellout"

You want to know why he was called a “sellout.” , The teacher, John A. Ward, is a Hispanic.

Here is some more Crap they are taught:

The basic theme of the curriculum was that Mexican-Americans were and continue to be victims of a racist American society driven by the interests of middle and upper-class whites. In this narrative, whites are able to maintain their influence only if minorities are held down. Thus, social, political and economic events in America must be understood through this lens.

OK, wakeup and open you're eyes, read his next statement:

I was assigned to be a “teacher of record” because some members of the Raza studies staff lacked teaching certificates. It was a convenient way of circumventing the rules.

So,,, I'm assuming you want your kids in this school being taught by a person lacking a teachers certificate and only believes in,,,, What? Hatred of the White Race!

Thanks!

It is sad that governements manipulate people, indoctrinate people and lie to people. And one of the biggest manipulations is the change or complete erasure of history by people in control, that want more control.

The simplest form I can think of for that is the indoctrination of people to think we live in a democracy, not a Republic.

People that have no inspiration or motivation to gain knowledge tend to stick with the status quo. Governments love that.

Well, it seems it was removed by Three Sonorans, a progressive Hispanic think-tank based...SURPRISE!...in Tuscon. But that's OK, because they have the video posted on their website. Please watch it, because the comments at the beginning are hilarious, especially the ones about the person reading from this "educational" book is a racist.

Disclaimer: newbie

Anywho, I've read through all the posts on this and was able to view the video at the new link provided. Everything she read came from a poem, correct? Aside from the titles including 'sh*t' and other offensive words in other languages. So... wouldn't this be the correct place to put 50+ years old poems written by people who came to America a bit ago? In an Ethnics studies book? In the information given, I don't see the problem, although I'm sure one is there

I'm also (relatively) sure I have seen posts here on ATS attempting to debunk the possibility of America starting the War on Drugs for their own reasons. Pretty easy example would be the word 'marijuana', which was pretty much invented to make Mexicans look bad (that's putting it lightly). That little thought in the back of my mind was enough to agree with the line in the poem about drugs and gringos. Oh, and for the record, I'm a 'gringo'.

The other issue was with the vernacular of the alleged book (which wasn't even present in the video). We cuss. We say bad words that would make our grandmothers cringe. The difference between us and our 65+ year old grannies? We have been made to not even notice. Words come and words go. Certain words hold more meaning. Sometimes words even change meaning, and drastically so. For example: gay. That one's been around the bush. And I do believe that the infamous 'F' word even had an entire movie made about it. Did you know it can be used in ANY part of a sentence (except as an article)?

In any case, I don't think it's appropriate to preach hate or profanity to children, but I also believe they are going to be around it no matter what and our only hope is to make them able to form their own opinions. Hiding them from it is not the answer.

Someone let me know if I've missed some information and therefore, talking out my arse.

OK, I would have to surmise from your post you didn't read the articles thomasjeffersonclubblog.wordpress.com...
or gatewaypundit.rightnetwork.com... or michellemalkin.com...
Or watch all the video link supplied to you.

This is Not How You Spend Tax Payers Money in Public Schools, at lest most people think that way who has kids and pay taxes? You want to teach a kid about La Raza, fine do it at home.

I'd like Very Much For You To Tell Me How The Word Marijuana Make Hispanics Bad? That's B.S.

Here is my thoughts on the word Marijuana, Marijuana is derived from the mexican word maraguanquo which means "intoxicating plant". True or Not?

I guess you're getting an idea of what I think you're talking out of

Touche. I did NOT read the above blogs (only the exerts) as you were not the OP. Nor did I watch the videos you posted, as the topic was the alleged book being used in TUSD. (Oh, still didn't read them or watch them).

So, reading, writing and arithmetic? You know that would never fly in the public schools. Schools are there to teach children how to be drones. I was simply saying everyone should have a hand in the teaching. If your child trusts you and respects you then they will come home with this information being fed to them and ask questions. Isn't that what we want? A free-thinking society. It takes a village to raise a child, unfortunately our village is pretty flawed.

True. I am pretty good at the google myself. Also.... I have done a considerable amount of research on marijuana (mostly for medical benefits, but other info slips in there as well), and while I could go on and on .... and on about how our government did, in fact, use that wonderful little plant to make an enemy, it is not the topic at hand. Perhaps once I've 'proven' myself in these parts I will post my findings. Until then, yes, you were correct.
