Just because they have so far failed to find a medical or a 'non demon' explanation, doesn't mean there isn't one. In the meantime, I hope you are not filling your sons head with this demon stuff. You are entitled to your beliefs but those beliefs could be influencing him at his young age and actually making it worse.

This is very reasonable. A star for starchild.

Well enjoy your beer then. Don't forget to take aspirin before your face hits the table.

Do you remember what you typed in drunken stupor when you wake up in the morning?

I would continue to pursue the mental health issue and continue to carefully control his diet. Some supplementation would help as well. Those things that help the brain function might be good. Things like omega 3 fatty acids, ALA, magnesium supplementation, sublingual vitamin b12 (methylcobalamin), the other b vitamins (e.g. niacin, b6 etc). Dosing up on antioxidents could help as well.

As far as the demon possession angle is concerned, my general experience is that the catholic church will make things worse due to their heavy occultic practices. I might consider approaching a good new testament Bible believing pastor who has some experience with deliverance ministry. In general it is impossible to rid oneself of demonic influences unless there is true repentance and a commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Moreover it appears that relatives involved in the occult will give the demons access to their children. You can view this as an inheritable mental illness or as a demonic manifestation. In some cases only the latter interpretation brings proper healing.

Now if his father is still walking with Jesus, given that he is the child's father, he will be given authority to actually cast out said demons. The least of God's children has such authority actually. All it takes is prayer and in some cases fasting. Again to make it effective the child needs to put his or her faith in Jesus.

You will be in my prayers.

Ok guys... for starters, I'm not a religious nut. I'm Catholic and so are my 2 boys.

Wait a minute, didn't you just say that one of your boys was only 7 years old?
This picture comes to mind...

........But on a more serious note, I myself had the exact same symptoms you described at his age. Right up to when I was 19-20. Every doctor I had was baffled as with your son, and after countless tests over the years, it turned out to be my eyes having a sensitivity to light, causing them to strain and therefor causing aura migraine headaches at any random time. I noticed, you did not mention (from what Ive read, I'm pretty high) a visit to an optometrist, I highly recommended it.

EDIT AGAIN because it seems nobody is READING the post... we have seen NUMEROUS doctors and specialists. We have had multiple MRI's performed. A CT scan and an EEG. All normal. He's not diabetic, or anything else. Perfectly normal, happy go lucky kid. I am mostly just curious about demonic forces with these types of scenarios. In NO WAY am I trying to blame satan for all the bad things in my life. Or this specific health issue. But when I take a step back, there just seems to be a lot of correlations between his father and what he went through and what my son is now going through. I will stick to what the doctors are telling us and I have not brought up anything spiritual to the doctors. I am not on here seeking medical advice! Just looking for opinions about supernatural influences. Also, my sons father and I were never married. We do not live together.

How are you affording the medical bills? What doctors are performing CT scans and EEGs on someone that has had numerous MRIs with nothing wrong? Am I paying for all of these tests? Maybe YOU need a few tests..

Make that 3! So I'm guessing there aren't a lot of metalheads here on ATS? Or at least the type who would be into black/death?

I think there are quite a few. Someone started a thread sometime ago about Iron Maiden being part of the NWO
and there seemed to be a bunch of posters into black/death metal who showed up

Sorry I ran out of patience reading through the first couple pages of replies, so maybe someone has said something along the lines of what I am about to reply to you about.

Examining the symptoms, and the fact that the doctors who ran a variety of tests found nothing, I would suggest that your son is suffering from migraine headaches with/without aura. Many if not all of these symptoms can actually be associated with migraine headaches. Your doctors did the right thing performing such a thorough screening, as those symptoms could in more rare cases be something much more serious, even life threatening. But having apparently ruled everything else out it seems logical to suggest these symptoms are associated with migraine headaches.

Here's a reliable resource to help you out.

www.mayoclinic.com...

Some highlights...

Symptoms:

Migraine aura symptoms include temporary visual or sensory disturbances that typically precede the usual migraine symptoms — such as intense head pain, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine aura usually occurs within an hour before head pain begins and generally lasts less than 60 minutes before disappearing. Sometimes, migraine aura may occur with little or no headache.

Visual signs and symptoms
The majority of people who experience migraine aura develop visual signs and symptoms. These may include:
Blind spots (scotomas), which are sometimes outlined by simple geometric designs
Zigzag lines that gradually float across your field of vision
Shimmering spots or stars
Changes in vision
Flashes of light

These types of visual disturbances tend to start in the center of your visual field and move outward, or spread.

Other sensory disturbances
Other temporary sensations sometimes associated with aura include:
Feelings of numbness, typically felt as tingling in one hand or on your face
Difficulty with speech or language
Muscle weakness

Treatment:

There is no specific treatment for the signs and symptoms of aura. Treatment for migraine with aura is similar to treatment for migraine without aura.

Pain-relieving medications
Medications used to relieve migraine pain work best when taken at the first sign of an oncoming migraine; for example, as soon as you notice signs and symptoms of a migraine aura beginning.

Types of medications that can be used to treat migraine pain include:
Over-the-counter or prescription pain relievers
Triptans, prescription drugs used specifically for migraine
Ergots, another family of drugs used for migraine
Anti-nausea drugs, to help with nausea and vomiting

Preventive medications
Medications can help prevent frequent migraines, with or without aura. Your doctor may recommend preventive medications if you're having more than four headaches a month, your headaches last more than 12 hours or you feel disabled by your migraines. Preventive medication options include:
Blood pressure-lowering medications
Antidepressants
Anti-seizure drugs
Botox injections

Stress management
Cognitive behavioral therapy, a technique that teaches you more appropriate ways to deal with stressful situations, may help reduce the number of migraines you have.

Note: The auditory symptoms associated with migraine headaches are usually quite rare, but not undocumented if you do a little digging. One source as an example...

onlinelibrary.wiley.com...

Sorry this reply is so long... Hope it wasn't anything that been said 15 times already either. >.<

But as to the spiritual/demon influence proposition. I can not say that these symptoms are definitely not of such nature. But odds are against it in my opinion. Certainly I must say that I believe nothing is impossible, but I usually go with the best odds in any case.

So... read through the info from the links I left above and you'll have something else to talk to your neurologist about when you get in to the appointment. I suspect he'll probably suggest the same thing considering everything else has been ruled out.

Good Luck! Hope your son can get those headaches under control. Let us know how the neuro appt. goes please. Hope you guys can get some answers!

"His mother is very into the occult and their practices. Always trying to speak to the deceased, etc.
He decided to become a born again Christian and after that, whatever presence was around him just went crazy. It was almost as if he had a complete personality change. "

hi, I appreciate it very much that you are brave to post this personal story here. I wish you and your son the very best.
- You say your grandmother is into the occult, what exactly do you mean with that?
- Did your family have any personal experience with the occult/ demonic before?
- How did he ´decide to become a born again Christian´?

greets and love

What you are describing is real- its causes can be from a variety of things, spiritually speaking. There is someone who I think will able to help you. She is a Catholic mystic and she helps many people with problems such as the one you have described your son is experiencing. Here is her forum, where she teaches and guides people on these subjects about which you have enquired, and more. Good luck.
