And FDR was not a great President, if anything, he was a travesty upon this great nation. The new deal, and his " second amendment " was if anything, laughable at best.

By the way it is not the social programs that are failing but our monterial system. All these programs are dependent on MONEY! The wealthy elite controls most of the money. We need to end the wealthy elites rule!

That much I agree on. Ending the Fed or at the very least cutting off the credit lines, and money creation, out of thin air, would be a step in the right direction. If we could some way also attach a tangible asset to back the dollar, that too would be a step in the right direction. You would solidify the purchasing power, and the value of the dollar.

No these are progams are not unconstitutional programs. FDR got out us of the great depression how is that NOT an accomplishment? His second bill of rights would have given everyone housing, a job and the freedom from the control of monopolies. How is that not a good thing? This is the vision of america to give everyone an equal oppurnity to live a decent life. This is why so many people came over from different countries and why many people still come. We at least attempt to take care of our own and help others who want to become citzens.
What is wrong with being for life and happiness. That is in the consitution. We need a bill that gives everyone the right to be free from extreme poverty!

Um no, Im sorry to inform you he did not. If your suggesting that WW2 got us out, you need to understand that WW2 was only a catalyst. FDR was able to pull us out of the poverty levels because he backed off on all his " bills " and let the free market right itself. He stopped intervening and allowed the system to run its course, which is what brought us out of the drought.

no, many peoples came here for the chance at entrepreneurship, and free enterprise. To earn something to have pride in, for generations to come. Not to obtain free money given to them by the USG.

I'm going to vote but it sure wont be for Obama not this time around..the Social Security and Medicare programs didn't make our country great but they sure have helped out alot of people and I'm glad he is fighting to keep this going..I just think someone else should take the reigns and see what they can do its very scary times were living in right now..

Thats what we have VA services for, which by the way the liberals in office wanted to cut that part of the spending, it should also be known that it was the republican party who fought for the soldiers you wish to decry.

Democrats, historically (except for Kennedy getting us into Vietnam and Cuba) have done little to support the military and have gone so far as to ostracize and castigate those in the military.

One thing that just burns me to no end is all this talk about how taxing millionaires is the way to go. However, they then slip it in that anyone who earns over $250k a year will be taxed higher. Where is the logic. If Obama or Buffet wants to write an extra check to fund someone else's lifestyle, then there is nothing stopping them. He said most millionaires would agree with him, so there you go, they should make sure everyone knows that if you want to donate an extra portion of your pay to the US Govt, feel free to mail in your check. Keep your hands off the money that I make. They already take nearly .40 of every dollar I make. Sickening!

It just pisses me off when people try to paint the homeless as lazy panhandlers with a big broad brush, when I know it is not true. I met many that where there because of serious psychological problems, and a good chunk of them were vets that the VA failed miserably.

By the way section 8 which is more or less a welfare program has self sufficency programs such as home ownership programs,voc rehab and much more. Without these social programs we would be like a country in Africa or a third world country where the weakest people are left to fend for themseleves. I agree these programs do make American great!

The illusion of Utopia is that by babysitting the welfare, the welfare will become stronger. The reality is that 'enabling' an addict only furthers the addiction, not cures it.

The maze is that liberal socialists will continue to find an excuse where welfare is 'good and needed.' There's never a cure. There's only a Utopian Socialist promise.
