Solar wind density went really high for a small period of time , somehow overlapping the outage on BBC. Sure , we have the night time in Europe so the outage would commence only if it would somehow depend on satellites ?

Could be to do with the change of BBC radio 7 to BBC radio 4 Extra coming up in the next few days and the closing of most of their message boards. The fact that they didn't warn people is not really surprising considering that most of these decisions were against the wishes of many of their listeners. Maybe they are changing the links to reflect these changes.

Sometimes bad things happen to good servers. It doesn't mean missiles are going to start flying.
