Boondock, without having read the specifics of your platform I am tossing in my endorsement on the strength of your character and what I know of you as an ATS poster.

A past argument shouldn't conflict and build bias in others. I apologize if I offended you at some point, but when I disagree it doesn't mean I'm being malicious. People tend to disagree, not to get off topic, but that's the way of life; that being said, my philosophy never allows me to have bad feelings towards anyone of my fellow people.

I just asked what you thought of that video. I can understand George Washington as a War Hero, but in political philosophy he had little to none. He was profit motivated an used his presidency to make money for himself just as politicians do today. In fact, The first time a national militia was ever assembled was to enforce a whiskey tax by finding and trying bootleegers.

What did Washington have against the bootleegers that made him want to was a national militia for the first time?

Because there were bootleggers that lived close to his property in Virginia.

How did he gain this particular lot of land in the first place?

During the American Revolution, the Continental Congress offered acreage of land to any solider that would join.
On the other hand officers of the army weren't offered land; however George Washington was friends with the distributor of land under the Articles of Confederation (before he was president) and had him amend the rules that way Washington could be given the property.

Doesn't that sound like a politician manipulating the system for his own personal profit?

Hey, I know where you are coming from! Had a few people tell me I should run before.....maybe we should do it together! Two ordinary citizens, sick of all the BS from politicians. From what I have seen you post in here, you would have a pretty good chance of getting my vote. Have to hear the whole platform, but the odds are in your favor.

Thats the problem with our Family Courts system, they are way to biased towards women, with the mans " say" being deemed irrelevant. Without the mans " seed " the child in question would not exist. Remember, it takes two to tango.

Could not agree more! As a woman, I find it deplorable that so many believe that only the pregnant woman has any say in regards to the baby she carries. TWO other people have a say there; the father, and the baby. As the law stands now, neither of those gets a vote. Sorry to the pro-choicers out there, but I have seen early ultrasounds, and I know that parts of my body don't have a heartbeat (5 weeks), or hands and feet, with fingers and toes (11.5 weeks). Those times are for one of my own kids. That's not a lump of tissue that will someday be a person; that's a human being, with as much right to protection as the mother, or anyone else.

Sorry to get off track here, OP, but if you are serious, you need to think about this one more. That's a HUGE key for me. Pro-life, or no vote.
