Tell me why you think it is a US Jet and not a Mig-21. and I don't know what a tow-dart is?

It's been discussed before. The jet is an F-15 and in earlier versions of the film, a USAF badge is on the back of the pilot's helmet iirc. A tow dart is a target dragged behind an aircraft to provide target practice for fighter pilots.

Google 'tow target.'

the ejection seat is an ACES II commonly found on F-15 jets, compare it with the ejection seat in OP's video

It it me or the object in the Mig 21 video looks transparent? You can see edges of the clouds through it.
