First let me say great video OP. Im really surprised it hasnt gone viral as it really should.I know for myself I intend to help it along on that point.

My next thought is this. My daughter is in the service and as a mother it scares the hell out of me as I know she could very well come home not the person she left as.

Now I must say, joining the service did change her in a most positive way. It helped her find pride in herself and some self respect which she was lacking before hand. What a shame though that it had to be from joining a service that can leave you so twisted in the end of the game.

In a perfect world, wouldnt it be nice that our sons and daughters could join a service that taught them all they could be so that they could go forward and utilize what they have learned to help build a better would instead. If all the millions spent on the wars were turned around to build a better country.I have not come her to kill you, I have come here to help you build a home, build better crops to feed you, build schools so you can learn, the list could go on and on. I can't help but think one could derive the same amount of pride being a part of that as well, and that would be millions upon millions well spent. Sigh, as I said though, that would be in a perfect world....

S&F for you OP

Would liked to have seen this in the "War on Terrorism" forum.

Very inspirational speech by Mike Prysner at Winter Soldier. A lot of great work being done by everyone at Iraq Veterans Against the War

Enough of this "support the troops" BS. I support them coming home. I support their right to disobey illegal immoral orders as prescribed in the Laws of Land Warfare.

No it doesn't take awhile. Two months ago I had my 40 caliber pistol to my head. I was drinking 750 ml of vodka and crown a night. My wife was so scared of me and what I had become, that she would either stayat my sisters, or sleep in the closet. Some big man I was. 2 months later I have been completely sober, on anti depressants, talk to a psychiatrist multiple times a week,

Not to derail this further..

Been there, done that..
Have you been regularly attending meetings? Both AA and VA?

U2U me please....

IF you are legitimate then you'll learn that 2 months is just the beginning try it for 23+ years.

spend every second I can holding my wife, and will never pick up my service weapon for this country for a long time.

You are luckier than many of us. Some of us have scared off our wives/girlfriends for good. I've done both. Those who know me personally know that I still to this day have a hard time sleeping. Often wake up with a rapid pulse and sweat.

I don't know where you live or what further steps you have or presently taking nor where you live. If you are nearby I'll be more than happy to assist with travel arrangements to and fro meetings.

U2U me please....
Semper Fi

Peace
J.

Wow, that is very difficult to read...

Not a single person from Iraq had anything to do with 911.

Not a single person from Afghanistan had anything to do with 911.

What the hell are we even doing there?

PS. You are a man. You did your job. You all have my ultimate respect.

Thank you.

I have no idea what combat is like and I'm not sure if my dad does either? I just know he drove supply trucks for the 1st cavalry. I was refering to the other poster having physical problems after coming back from a war and having to fight with the government on if he will ever get any compensation for conditions that are prevalent after going on a tour of duty. I am also not stating that soldiers regularly have to steal food or are not properly supplied, but that my dad told me that they had to do it on occassion.

Just a thought here but,
Maybe it's time for you to move on and let go of the past.
A great start would be changing your username.
For someone who is struggling with what they did overseas and having a hard time coming to terms with it
you sure seem proud of being a Marine Sniper and Killing 12 people.

Maybe a softer user name would be more appropriate and take the focus off of something that you supposedly regret.

I mean, If I was an former male prostitute Heroine Junkie and I was really having a hard time with the things I used to do
while I was a Male Prostitute Heroine Junkie I would not sign up to an Internet chat forum with a username like
"Maleprostituteheroinejunkie"!!!

Well your user name is Screwed! Is that not the same thing as "Maleprostituteheroinejunkie"?

I dont see the difference, when I trype in my thesaurus Maleprostituteheroinejunkie one of the options is "Screwed".

Excellent video! Thanks to the OP.

That was a POWERFUL response as well Soldier. As you can see many of the responses we support you 100%. You are the voice of that war and every war before it. The country needs you now more then ever to keep opening the hearts and minds of people that do not understand it yet!

Keep taking care of that little family of yours because they come first, which is as it should be.

Moving video.

One thing I find interesting about the services, is that the techniques they use to train & at boot camp (sleep deprivation, excessive physical activity, very little fluids/dehydration) are also techniques used in brainwashing & interrogation.

But those guys he mentioned gain nothing either. Most of the oil goes to Asia.

If anything, it's to stop China from expanding. And honestly if you have to use terrorism as a face value for that, it's good enough.

War is hell. You are a terrorist if you go to war. But that doesn't make you even. Nor does it make terrorism evil. Fear used to destroy fear is a good use of something evil.

The question is simple. Will the sin of war improve a region a generation or two down the road? The answer for there is yes. So that makes them heroes.

I wasn't going to post here ,but I can't help but feel deeply for all the vets who come back from conflict with the problems you describe.I can't imagine what the images are you have to deal with having never been there.I shudder to imagine what it is like.As slayer has said it doesn't go away.I have friends who went to Nam.A part of them didn't come back. They are not broken ,but they are very different from the men they were. All I can offer my friend is my encouragement to not give up and my sympathy for what you have been through.Be well.

This thread proves a point about humanity, that many are blind to, not so much on ATS but in public.

People who've killed other people become very stressed, and sometimes kill themselves or try to.

That goes against the notion that humans are war hungry monkeys.

Well yeah, for some money you can TURN a human into a death machine, if there was zero money in it for you in the beginning im sure we would have no military.

So from being born and until you matured and became an early adult, You're life was peaceful assuming you were not killing people. For financial security you agree to train yourself to become tools of destruction, until the time comes when you kill another person, your mind changes to protect yourself from death because of your environment, making you different. When you come out of that environment, and no longer have to kill, its much harder to return to a peaceful state that you came from that you never wanted to leave in the first place.

It's totally against human nature to kill other humans, and we pay the prices for it, even if it was defending your family.

But why, why is there a force beyond ourselves that tells us to go to foreign lands to kill? Money, and war is profit.

It won't be this way forever brothers, there will be a time where money is non existent and the need to kill will fade away shortly after. The only thing you can do is be strong, even in the face of the death machine around you.

I have never killed another person, but I can see the line I would cross if I did. I am sorry to those that have. Its not your fault the world is fd up, and even if you did not participate in the war, there would be someone else filling your shoes, so don't think things would have been different if you were not there.

Put your hate towards the people that made you do this, for they are the ones to blame.

One day, I seriously think those vets and warriors currently serving are going to organize themselves one day and cause serious damage to the people in charge. I just hope they target the right people, the ones causing this to begin with.

Focus your anger on those that lied to you and made you believe you were right to fight..

They deserve the rage, not you...

I am happy to read that. So many coming back from Vietnam were villified and spat on. Those guys were DRAFTED!!! Then to rub salt in the wound a draft dodgers are elected.

No I am not Pro-War. War only feeds the Banksters, but it is WRONG to lash out at the bankers "Cannon Fodder" and not at those sitting in comfort counting their piles of golden coins - not the worthless fiat paper they pawn of on us.

That is classic LoneGunMan. I was going to reply in the same fashion to screwed, but I see you got it covered.

One has no grounds to judge another in such a way. Screwed was non-supportive and has no compassion. Seems
maybe he/she needs help too.

Thanks for handling that.

You are a now a positive and enlightened person and so now with the light inside you, you will always try to be better and better as a person. The smallest arrogance or deviation from this love you now have will make you unhappy and want to go back to the Peace you so dearly love. The peace inside that everyone desires.
There is nowhere to go and everything to be.

Peace

LOL, all you need to do is go to the YouTube link, then follow the link to the channel of the poster...

THERE is where you'll find the real truth behind this.

If you're proud of it and think it's right you wouldn't hide behind things like this.

Glad for all the soldiers that serve. But remember you signed up for that. I might be the only one that thinks this. If you don't think the middle east is a threat to us think again. I would much rather fight these people over there than over here. Terrorist are what? 99% middle eastern doesn't matter which region they come from. Nothing would make them happier than to see western civilization to fall. And this video its is probably the biggest propaganda film on al jezzera. everyone who has seen combat or intense life or death situations have suffered afterthought believe me, sleepless nights over what they done. You have to move past and get on with the life you live now. If it haunts you that much go to a shrink and don't make other combat veterens suffer your problems as well.

The guy giving the speech is Mike Prysner, here's a link to a page that has a bit about him and another video of him giving a speech at a rally. Sadly, he's for Socialism, but, likely the good kind, which is impossible to have with our elite, so that sort of makes him counter-productive on that part. But I get tingles every time I listen to that speech, I even have a link to it on my site. I quote this part that I particularly think sums up the whole point, “Poor and working people in this country are sent to kill poor and working people in another country, to make the rich richer. And without racism, soldiers would realize that they have more in common with the Iraqi people, than they do with the billionaires who send us to war.”
