A short speech from a US soldier after serving over seas. He speaks about his experience with the war and how he really feels about what is going on. It is a sad story. More people in the military need to wake up to this. And no, I am not "against the troops", I'm against the people who deploy them. And so is this guy.

Mate, you thought you were doing the right thing..
Many are gratefull that you have seen the light,,
Focus your anger on those that lied to you and made you believe you were right to fight..

They deserve the rage, not you..

As thorough as the MCRD brainwashing techniques, they aren't going to change what is wrong from what is right.... Hang in there Sniper, you are only suffering from having an open mind....S/F.

No it doesn't take awhile. Two months ago I had my 40 caliber pistol to my head. I was drinking 750 ml of vodka and crown a night. My wife was so scared of me and what I had become, that she would either stayat my sisters, or sleep in the closet. Some big man I was. 2 months later I have been completely sober, on anti depressants, talk to a psychiatrist multiple times a week, spend every second I can holding my wife, and will never pick up my service weapon for this country for a long time. All of this because one lady on here cared enough to spend so much of her time encouraging me and seeing me for who I really am. Her name on here is lostviking, what a blessing she's been. It doesn't take a long time, it takes a couple of people who really care. If you don't believe me read my thread about my disease which I wrote while I was in a slum. OP im so glad you made this post. Not trying to derail this thread but people need to know, we can't do this by ourselves.

Just a thought here but,
Maybe it's time for you to move on and let go of the past.
A great start would be changing your username.
For someone who is struggling with what they did overseas and having a hard time coming to terms with it
you sure seem proud of being a Marine Sniper and Killing 12 people.

Maybe a softer user name would be more appropriate and take the focus off of something that you supposedly regret.

I mean, If I was an former male prostitute Heroine Junkie and I was really having a hard time with the things I used to do
while I was a Male Prostitute Heroine Junkie I would not sign up to an Internet chat forum with a username like
"Maleprostituteheroinejunkie"!!!

Try "Bambi" or "Butterfly". "Princess" or "Cinderella"

Just sain'
Take it how you want to, no offense intended but seriously dude?

I am a clinical therapist a Mental Health Hospital and I am seeing more and more veterans showing up. It saddens me because of the damage that is done to them is so deep and so destructive.

I can never say I understand your pain as I will never be able to comprehend what you and your brothers are going through. All I can say is that the American Soldier is the most overlooked victim of this whole thing. What you are expected to do and recover from with little to no help adjusting afterward is an atrocity in and of itself.

One of the patients at the hospital was a Marine Scout Sniper and he became someone I would consider a friend. He would tell me the things that were expected of them which no person should EVER have expected of them.

But that is what happens when you put a man in a position of SURVIVAL they are forced to behave in ways that are completely against their character and beliefs and soon they no longer know themselves. The pressure to not only survive yourself but to keep your brothers alive by doing WHATEVER is necessary turns men inside out.

I cannot express how sorry I am for you and your brothers predicament.

You can choose what you want to be remembered by!
No one is stopping you from creating a new account and re inventing yourself as the person you WANT to be remembered as and someone that YOU are proud of.

As it stands right now it is pretty evident what you are proud of and people are not going to go "read your thread" just to find out why you chose your user name.

Suck it up butter cup.
Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and become a person you are proud of.

If I chose the user name "ILIKEGAYPORN" I'm not going to expect people to go read a thread I wrote about it explaining why I chose that user name. I would expect that people are going to assume that:

1. I like gay porn and
2. I am proud of it.

I say this out of a good place in my heart and am not trying to bust your balls.
You are who you want to be.
and you will be remembered the way you choose to be remembered.

Good luck brother!

Your absolutely right, I can be what I want, and I am in the process of figuring that out now. I don't " expect" you to read anything. I just know most people on here do their research before they make claims and I figured since you know me more than I know myself, that you would have read why. Suckitup? How about do some research and figure out why we do what we do, why we think how we think, and until you have been there, please don't tell me to suckitup.

Looks like I'm not the only one who needs to do their research.

Much love brother
and good luck to you in the future
I hope everything works out well for you..

semper fi, brother. I KNOW. 0311. I have been seeing a psycholgist and psychiatrist for 6 years now. I was diagnosed with PTSD, GAD, and major depressive disorder. I was on 4 medications at first and now I'm on 2. Besides an occasional nightmare, which used to be
Much more often, I'm good to go now. It gets better. I would change my user name of I could because I don't let that define me anymore, I just don't want to loose my almost silver status. Haha. We thought we were going to do what was right. I wanted to save the world and fight for freedom. We enlisted to do what we thought was right. We were manipulated 18 year old kids. Remember all that trash about moral courage and esprit de corps? They really did brainwash us. Deprogram yourself. I'm a fat and happy civvy now. It takes time. You have to put effort into it though. ALWAYS FAITHFUL/SEMPER FIDELIS.

I'm here for you bro. U2U me.
