Quake Watch 2011

On Saturday PM I was preparing a little study on the tectonic plate movements around Israel with particular interest in the Jordan river and Dead sea; forming a continues line down to Afar region and into Africa rift. Then Sunday I was out the whole day.

This morning nothing unusual - until I saw this article:
"A relatively rare, moderate earthquake struck near the coast of Israel and the Gaza Strip on Sunday."

The interesting thing is that Geologist Ron Avniz actually estimates a 'missing 4 meter' shift in the tectonic plates. He is expecting an overdue earthquake of 7.0+ at depth no more than 10 Km along the same Jordan River/Dead Sea rift between Israel and Jordan.

And Nabro/Afar/Djibouti - All this line is now VERY active with hundreds of small quakes.

For Prophetic purposes:
The combination of this current active rift/tear/tectonic movement is phenomenal.
Within Israel the highest danger is the Olive mountain; aka Temple Mount. It is very likely to tear since the rift is running right through one corner of the 'holy square'.

Ok, as if that is not enough - the bottom part of this rift is running between the cities of Makka and Medina in Saudi Arabia - that is a road all muslims walk during Haj which is less than three months from now - End October to first week November !

Pardon me if I sound a bit scared. If there is a rift valey quake, it will shake all along from Israel to Saudi.
It might cause the colapse of the Dome on Olive montain, as well as split Medina from Makkah!
The Israeli's will accuse Iran (Nuclear). The Muslims will accuse Israel.

I haven't read your links yet but historically Mag 7+ quakes in the area have been quite catastrophic, destroying whole cities, if not empires. Can't recall any in the last 100 years when doing my World 7's project.

Yes, they are because usually they are very shallow.
The last big quake in Israel are was about 7.0 mag on 1 Jan 1837 but far North in Hebron.

However I think it is fairly clear now that Mother Nature has given the bird to the 'Solar Flares Cause Earthquakes' community. You cannot reasonably after three days attribute any mag 6+ which will occur at any moment to having been triggered by the M9.3 flare.

I too saw the EQ and and thought of this....

Why not? Food poisoning can take as much as 3 weeks to manifest from the initial consumption date. Behind the theory of plate tectonics is the theory of plate dynamics which could determine a belated rate of events.

Actually if u look at the Mount Etna data,, it blew 1700 ft into the air,,,,it lines up quite nicely.

The flare data,, density,,shock wave,, being abrupt,,
as was Etna,,, that night.

Oh and the graphs are marvelous ,, of the erruption,,as its happenning,,
very abrupt

Hi,
There was a 3.4 @ 5km recorded at Mt Taupo yesterday, and another one today along with the other 2 supervolcs in Aus/NZ

This is Taupo......I know many of you don't like EDIS, but at least it is a strting point for me.

Isn't this area (Israel) a convergence point for 3 major fault lines? Is one of them the Mediterranean Fault...the one that goes clean through the middle of the sea?

An interesting observation, however Etna has been erupting all year - 6 times I believe. Do you have data that confirms that all the other eruptions were caused by solar flares, if so I would like to see that.

As far as I can see this is pure coincidence, but I am up to being corrected.
