first i do not believe in god... if god is blessing to us the way he do till today, i can just say "oooo my got, what a f..k is happening with U? are U just so busy in different part of universe or what?"

my reaction to those videos:
lets show to the public how we help few kids today in war zone, but do not show them how "we"(taxpayers included) kill plenty of them last month!!!... end of comment.

well in that video sir, I do not see any troops fighting, I see people helping children. If you have a problem with that, you have issues.

Okay, so let's do that. Seems to me the majority of our soldiers are being sent to murder people in and around their own homes for the crime of fighting back against invaders.

Yes, the people who make up our military are overwhelmingly decent people (I was one), but our government is using them to murder.

The OVERWHELMING number of German airmem, sailors and soldiers were decent too, just doing their jobs. Were they right? In other words, arguing whether a military is right or wrong is pointless since it is commanded by its government. So it is that government that must be judged and criticized first.

(You will need to look up the word "sycophant" no doubt.) And then according to your thinking all you brown nosers are the tough guys and patriots, is that about right? I know bullies like you. You only act like a tough guy. Chances are you wince at the sight of blood, cuss out homeless people and get a rise out of threatening decent people driving cars like a Prius. But you only do so in packs of your fellow bullies. In reality, you are the rankest of cowards. Put you up in front of a crowd of people smarter than you (not difficult) and force you to speak a few intelligent words and you'll pee in your pants.

I wish people would read the above comment. Are people here really that unable to stay on topic?

There are a million and one places on ATS you can start a thread on the bad things soldiers have done, and like Homer has already stated in his opening post, they do occur. No-one has denied that.

Someone has merely started a thread to show theres much good in our troops, why can't people stay on topic?

This should have been kept where it was and the people that posted off-topic stuff have their posts deleted.

Is it too much to ask for the negative to be kept to other threads that encourage discussion?

I was going to do a thread similar to this, but for the police. However i'm not so sure now.

I truely believe that if you can't have a few threads that are kept totaly free of hate and negativity towards our forces and police, we will see this place end up filled with nothing but hate-filled members. I love this place and firmly believe it is among the best sites on the net, but nowhere is worth staying if it becomes that hatefull.

Go try it, watch two or three videos of the forces doing something bad, or the police beating someone they shouldn't. By the end of those videos you will have a very bad taste in your mouth towards them. Even as an ex-forces policeman, i see some cop videos and feel hatred at the end of it.

If that is all we are subjected to, how angry will this place become? As i often say, you become a master of what you become, and if you want to be so blinkered that you only want to see the negative in things, then all the best to you. You'll need it.

Lets get some balance here please, putting the war aside, there are some great troops out there who would risk everything to protect you, how about giving them a break once in a while eh? They ask nothing of you.

Heh, I'm pretty sure, I have not contributed to world issues. The world was totally messed up by the time I was brought into it.
