I believe they have telephones in this day and age.

Honestly, if the Government went full retard like that it would only be easier for us. It'll have been free up to that point, no one will stand for anything different.

Star for sure. Great ideologies. Way to think! Way to be on the side that balances out the equation.

That being said. No matter the economic system. No matter the political system, there will always be a richest one percent. There will always be dissatisfaction with the "system." There will always be people who fight against the "man" even if the "man" is the most fair individual on the block. And let me be clear. There needds to be! There needs to be the people who are willing to fight for the equality of all. Thats a large part of what makes this clock tick.

What you and other people like you need to realize is you are just one part. There needs to be a minority of the population wealthy. There needs to be a majority of the population content and there needs to be another larger minority that are willing to fight for more. This is the balance that will always make the world revolve. When one of these thirds fail the whole damn game fails. Unless you think some utopian fairy land is what is needed and wanted and feasible then fine lets wipe the slate clean and start with the "garden of eden" all over again.

As you and I know, that is not going to happen. No clean slate. No do over. No erasing the past and progress that has been made since the beginning of time. Progress in all things (knowledge), if that makes sense (it makes sense to me right now
) Two steps forward, one step back. But what counts is your one step ahead from where you are started.

The real problem with this generation (and in reality every generation since recorded history) is the mistake of wanting everything now. We want equality now. We want power now. we want riches now. We want to be heard now. Well progress, maturity, love, equality, wealth, understanding and fairness all require on thing: Time. Everything worth waiting for is worth fighting for and visa versa.

Don't get me wrong, its imperitive to keep your attitude alive and kicking. It will make a difference. You, them, us will all keep that drive and that thought alive. That kind of thinking should be admired and kept close to the hearts of those that believe it.

Just understand theres a few other equally important perspectives.

At least thats my take. I feel pretty good right about now. Thanks for sharing.

Oh shizzle, I forgot to ask a few questions.

What is it that you wish to dramatically change specifically?

What are the "situations" specifically that the youth are aware of?

Also, why is the youth 18 and under "screwed?"

Certainly it is understood that "status within their peers" is something that is not new. this is a part of living in a human society. Status within our peers is like peer review on a sociological level in my opinion. I see this as a good thing rather than a detriment. How would we al lfiguer out how to treat each other if we did not have peers or statuses? Would you mind explaining why this is a bad thing?

How do you feel we have been "mislead?" Who has mislead us? By "us" Im assuming you mean the average citizen.

I want you to understand I have respect for your post and my questions are most honest. Its just, i want to know why and what it is you are so passionate about changing.

Also, you feel people above the age of 30 are not affected. Why is it you believe this? And please understand (maybe you do already or have clarified in some other post and just dicnt clarify in the OP. I apologize, but I have not read th eentire thread) that the engine that drives America is a good business man. your father and step father sound like good people. If they are showing up to work, performing the tasks expected of them and/ or creating opportunities for other poeple, then they are doing there share and providing for their family and helping others at the same time. These are perfect examples of being American.

Afterall, how do you think you would have the home that houses the electricity that provides your computer the means to post your message?

It's funny - even those young acquaintances of mine who I'd consider relatively 'awake' to the reality of the system we live in are ruled by iPhones, X Factor and trends. It makes me realise just how much of a black sheep I really am, even though I spend a lot of time trying to convince myself that at the heart of it I'm no more special than the next person.

The self destructing of the population started, with aids. And people seemed like they might beat that test, people werent sleeping with each other like it was the 60s anymore. But recently there has been a boom of HIV,now, these people dont die in 2 years like the media likes you to think,HIV usualy lasts 15-20 years before turning into aids, then the person dies in 2 years. Sooo,i think we are just going to have a mass die off of all the apathetic people. Soo,if it takes about 20 years to turn into aids, and it came out in the 80's that leaves us with the year 2000,but remember it just started in the 80's it hasnt heavily spread until when? lets just say it heavily spreads the year 2010,we will have a mass die off the year 2030 then. That may have seemed alittle offf topic but i just bring it up because the youth are #ing like its the 60's if the 60's was sober but is now on exstacy

The two pillars of the much-touted “American Dream”―home ownership and a college education―have become the means by which the financial aristocracy is plundering both the present and future resources of the working class.

The problem is escalating. In June of this year, US student loan debt
exceeded credit card debt for the first time. Now totaling nearly $850 billion,
student loan debt is growing at the rate of $90 billion a year. [1]

Student debt is not just consumer debt. It is the most onerous kind
of consumer debt because student borrowers do not receive standard consumer

are legal, and there is no statute of limitations...

The industry is legally able to garnishee wages, tax returns and Social Security

The last couple or so generations have been taught that globalism is the wave of the future and that nationalism is old and obsolete.

Inspiring nationalism fervor amongat the young, in any meaningful manner, is a waste of time, IMO.

I have been comming to ATS for several years and this thread spurred me to create a account finnaly. Im origionally from Buffalo Ny and moved to Pa about a year and a half ago. I have had a hard time finding anyone in both locations of any age that has an interest in their government aside from die hard dems or repubs who are content as long as their party is in control. It is good to see someone taking initiative as we are leaderless. I am most definatley on board and will be saving my money to attend the protest!

The game is basically lost. Everyone is monitored by our modern government. Just think about it, all the info they can get from the internet, and other places combined into a databank. Just keeping your cellphone with you exposes your location. Recording txt conversations, messenger and so forth, they know about anything you do.

$8,073,383,400 per year, estimated total savings.

Big business does these types of cuts all the time, just like they are doing right now America!

If Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone else) in order to collect retirement benefits there is no telling how much we would save. Now they get full retirement after serving only ONE term. Which is a load of Bravo Sierra.

You can check my numbers. I believe they are accurate though.

Nice, you managed to save just over 8 billion dollars. We can buy everyone in America dinner at Applebee's with all that money. I don't think you comprehend how minuscule this amount is in regards to government spending. If you think that dismantling the entire balance system our county was founded upon is worth 8 billion per year then you are either very young and naive or very dumb and dangerous. Which one is it?

8 billion would be just the direct savings, and to be honest spending that much for what we get is something of a travesty. Think about how many school lunches it would buy.

IMO - All congress people do is get together, rub each others backs, as well as other parts, and spend our money. When the choice came to balloon the debt by bailing out the big banks, they caved to fear and instead of using their delegated power to put the banks in receivership, and use the bankruptcy laws to provide protection to legitimate investors, not the wild speculators who created the mess, they bailed out the wild speculators who created the mess along with their bloated, extravagant lifestyles. All that was needed were some vague threats that martial law would be needed unless they forked over basically everything we have, and they caved. They have proved again and again to be a body incapable of dealing with real issues like the debt, and obsessed with meddling in social issues that do nothing but divide the people, like flag burning and gay marriage. What is their approval rating, is it back in the double digit range? How many people know even the name of the rep, much less how they vote and what committees they are on, and what legislation they push? Why did most people who used to care about this stop caring? Did it have anything to do with multiple sex scandals, money dealing and bribery scandals? I don't think so, it has more to do with the obvious fact that they have become an upper class that serves itself, not the people they represent, and this is not what we want them to do.

I don't know, but the net result is that they are dysfunctional and need an intervention!

It's not about changing the balance of power to the red states, but to be honest, I understand why it seems this way because these sentiments are strongest in these areas. It has even gotten to a point where in the past 20 years I think more people are starting to decide where they live based on which side they are on, and this is splitting us even more.
We need a march like this just so that we start to rebuild a conversation among the people. The media is not creating one, when it is obvious one is needed. They are part of the problem. This should be young and old, red and blue, and the message should be the same. We are unsatisfied with the actions and basic performance of our main GB, and have been for years. They need to shape up ASAP or give the reigns to someone else.

The amount of money that could be saved by having a non-corrupted congress is more than I can imagine.

Once there is a group of strong minds that can form an alliance with each other, then we can start planning a real American Protest. These things must happen, or we will all be indentured servants, and our children will have no hopes of understanding the feeling of living FREE.

The GOALS of action taken against our government should fall along these lines as follows.

Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members and Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Also reduce remaining staff by 25%.

Do this over the next 8 years. 2 elections, 2 votes.

Get the Fed, as well as the new Fed, whose name is Goldman-Sachs, completely removed from power. This will also include any other government officials who have corporate connection that has the ability to influence our government behind the public's back.

Under no circumstances can the judicial branch of government over rule a democratic vote on new legislation, new propositions, or any other circumstances that such a vote may be held by the government AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL. States should always have the rights to govern themselves without Federal interference

In my opinion, what we see happening is, socialist concepts, within communist light countries getting its ass kicked. The kids in Europe aren't protesting for freedom, they're protesting they have to pay more money... Just like the riots in France and other European countries. Those kids aren’t doing anything of value, they're just having fun!!!

Regarding your list, not only is what you're saying extremely dangerous, is not even thought out in my opinion... its almost like you woke up with this concept and ran with it... or... there is a new communist book out there I know nothing about. (Yes I read communist books, I want to know what my ENEMY is doing.) BTW the Supreme Court was created to stand guard over the Federal Governments rules, regulations and freedom removing laws… What's ironic about that, the Supreme Court within its first ten years of existence… over stepped their Constitutional authority and said the Constitution gives them the authority to stop voter approved or state approved laws. But people won't believe that, because people pretended it exists, just like they pretend there is separation of church and state within the Constitution, even though no such words exist in the entire Constitution with regards to either. Creating a new Constitutional Amendment that Forces the Entire Supreme Court to Agree 9 to zero, for every single ruling in order for them to overturn any government/people created law/vote, before they can call anything unconstitutional… that would be supported by both sides. Because our rights and our voices could not be thrown away off a baseball score, if even 1 Supreme Court Judge says something is Constitutional, then nothing was settled and the peoples right should not be violated by 8 simple people. That’s maddening!

Also, you will need two election cycles to get the numbers you need to create any of those new Constitutional Amendments. When I wrote this, Our Republic Is Broken, A Constitutional Army Requested, the only thing I was considering was giving power back to the States while taking most of the power away from the Federal Government. Your concept takes all the power away from the States and gives it all to the Federal Government and that's completely unacceptable... COMPLETELY!

Wait a minute?

Isn't the entire purpose of the Judicial branch in the Federal government to provide a Check and Balance to the power of Congress??

You want to remove that?

So now Congress will be able to institute any random authoritarian Unconstitutional laws and there will be no way to overturn them?

This doesn't sound like a good idea at all.

You said "Democratic Vote", that is not what our nation is founded on.

We are a Republic form of government, where the "rule of law" trumps mob rule.

Just because 80% of the people want to pass laws to kill the other 20% doesn't mean they should get their way. That's why we are a Republic, because the Judicial branch can overturn these types of wild votes and protect the rights of the minority.

So I would have to say I disagree completely with this particular "goal".

Also, I don't see how reducing the numbers of representatives is going to change anything??
That just means lobbyists will have an even easier time to pay them all off....

Whats cheaper? Paying off a bunch of people, or paying of half that many people? Right...

I don't mean to be a party pooper but this isn't going to solve our problems, it will only make it worse.

I am glad that you get it.

However we live in a nation that is entirely uneducated about "government".

They do not know what the purpose of each of the 3 branches of our Republican form of government is.

If they understood the purpose, they would not want to get rid of one of these branches.

A more prudent approach would be merely to give more power to the states and take it away from DC, as you suggested.

Killing off the Supreme Court system will definitely make room for a dictatorship to take hold full force.

Yes I consider the Supreme Court totally corrupt, and we need to work on weeding that out and restructuring it. Totally. But getting rid of them will leave us totally weak and unprotected from the whims of our psychotic and deranged Congresspeople.

Good post littlebunny.

why is everyone so seemingly afraid of the big bad wolf? have the people of the USA been scared into submission? it will be a sad day if we look back in 10 years and see that we are worse of then than we are now. we are at the tipping point. we see that society is now making it's last stand globally we must unite and even the odds.
