The OP has it all wrong. If Obama could actually make his dreams into law the country would be better off. Unfortunately there are no laws without Congress, and Congress always destroys everything put in front of it or passes it in a form completely different than it's original intent. Give Obama the right to dictate the laws and I think folks would be a bit happier with him. You do realize this is a 100 year mess that he is being asked to fix in less than 2 years?

Also do you realize the stock market is up over 25% since he took office? He hasn't done all bad.

TARP and bank bailouts? It was Obama's Treasury that OK'd the obscene 2009 and 2010 bonuses for AIG, BoA and CITI moguls. Obama endorsed the TARP as a candidate as far back as 2008.

Housing and mortgage generosity? Clearly, Fannie and Freddie's policies were set during the Clinton administration; and Obama has tried various machinations to "save" the losers who tried unsuccessfully to take advantage of the market. He's done NOTHING to fix the market, but seeks to perpetuate the pillaging of the treasury with continued support of FHA, FNMA and FHMLC give-away policies at OUR expense.

Job loss? His $800 billion "stimulus" and subsequent additions have done nothing to improve private employment; they've boosted the outlook for public and union employees at everyone else's expense.

Seriously, get real. Most of the deficit, bailouts, and economic woes were already comin down the pipeline when Obama took office. While personally I would have rather he let the banks fail... you have to realize that as the president of the United States, he would have been lynched if he let this happen.... ESPECIALLY by right-wingers. I'm not quite an Obama supporter... but it's completely true that no matter what he does, the right-wing will criticize him for it, over-exaggerate the negative (or completely make it up), and seek his utter destruction. The right-wing has no credibility, decency, or sense of honesty... and I will defend Obama against that kind of propaganda while reserving the right to criticize him LEGITIMATELY on points that actually make sense and reflect reality (and not a political battle).

So, a government takeover of GM, installation of admin puppets as executives and free-flow of tax dollars in support is preferable to delaying the inevitable? Then again in that same bill they call for REQUIRED Community Service...something many of you at first were claiming we were making it up, but then after it passed we started hearing more, and more from socialists, i mean Liberals claiming "this is good for the nation"... This is eugenics, which is part of socialism, as well as rationing even when not needed. The socialist ideals call for rationing of everything to the point that people barely get any food. This is what happens in countries like Cuba, China, Vietnam, etc, etc.

Liberals/socialists/progressives/democrats are embracing ideals which have always brought nothing more than suffering, and oppression to the people.

At first these ideals and principles "look fantastic"...more so when you can't read between the lines and the fine print...

Then slowly but surely the fine print and what the elites meant starts to become reality and it ALWAYS turn up bad for the people.

To those not aware of the facts, of history, and who are naive enough to believe the call of "the need of the many outweight the needs of the one", the truth of socialism/communism is not apparent to them until it is too late.

Dictatorships start like that, one pace at a time. Individualism is frowned upon and even rejected for "the good of the many"... The only problem is that by embracing "the good of the many", the many which in socialism/communism is THE PARTY/STATE, individual freedoms are trampled, and in reality this means the freedom of EVERYONE is trampled "for the good of the many/state/party"...

Yet so many in the left have been brainwashed so much that they don't see anything wrong with being FORCED by the government to do things such as "Community Service"...

The democrats/progressives/liberals in power have even included children for their FORCED Community Service...and this should be a decision OF THE PARENTS, and not of the STATE/GOVERNMENT...

Yet you people can't see what is wrong with this picture...

I fear for this country and for our people...

Too many Americans are too naive believing all of these policies by progressives "are good for the people" when in reality they only serve the elites to get more control over us...
