Damn, i just wanted to know peoples opinions on it...

And....

I've thrown a lot of cash at it so i guess it has or had made me into an addict for cam sex sites!!

Like someone said a few posts up, that's supply and demand.

Plus it's a lot easier (and far less risky) compared to prostitution.

what i am wondering is whether the webcam & Tech is responsible for their values of today?

No.

Are we all becoming more of a webacm sex addict?

Depends on person to person. Some ppl can become chronic smokers and alcoholics, while some people manage to do it socially without being addicted to them.

It's all upto an individual. If someone feels they are addicted to it and yes that happens a lott he/she should consult a doctor and seek help. There are many treatments available.

I'm not looking down upon them as you put it.... it's good for us single men but i'm also thinking that this could be a problem for married couples.... you know if the wife comes home and catches her husband on one of the sites with his pants down or vice versa... i'm sure this will cause problems in most relationships as i have read on occassion in the media on the Dear Deidre section about women finding their man masterbating over porn and stuff....

That's another thing... breakdown of communication and relationships!

Although it could also be good for some relationships.

Exactly! We all perform better with an audience!!

Plus, having the extra money might buy us a little more freetime, to have more sex, which will make us more money, which will buy us even more freetime......you get the idea! What a job that would become!

I see where you have thrown money at it already, if I ever convince the wife, do you want an e-vite?
You might learn something new; you never know?

Why are so many people so uptight about sex? I know plenty of promiscuous women that were never abused/molested/homeless/drug addicts or anything else. As a matter of fact, the most confident and well-raised women that I know are also the most open-minded. Sex is a necessary part of our survival as a species, making it a lot of fun is just icing on the cake!

Sorry in the beginning your OP made sounds as it was bashing women, webcams and internet so I may have come across rude to you. If you think you are addicted to it then sure seek help. Nothing to be ashamed off man.

I have been on many webcam talks just flirtatious and other stuff but have never paid for it... I think it may be like gambling.

Why?

My ex-wife would have had a problem with it. She was pretty uptight, and she is now an "ex" wife!

I am capable of much, much, much more sex than my new wife is willing or available for. She would prefer to catch me watching a webcam than hiring a hooker! She would also prefer to know if she is not satisfying me, and she will work a little harder. She also gets turned on by sometimes seeing stuff she didn't expect, and it adds spice.

Would a man be offended if he came home to find his wife masturbating? I think NOT! I think he would be undressed in record time and it would be an afternoon/lunch/night to remember for awhile!

If a man masturbating to a webcam causes problems in a marriage, then the marriage already had problems and they just need an excuse to end it.

How exactly have you researched this? - raises eyebrow. Have you just been looking for women that will have webcam sex or men too?

No
All you need to do is type in a few words on your browser and you'll see for yourself how easily available it is and how just how many women are actually on these sites!

I dont understand what's wrong in watching porn on internet or having webcam sex. My gf has never raised that issue with me. We have tongue in cheek humor over it many times and also watch porn together. If the partner trust each other completely there should be no issues and no strain on relationships.

Like has been said above, your OP seemed a little sexist, maybe it wasn't.

I find it interesting how some of those writing columns handle things like this to be honest. One of the magazines I sub to has a section to write in to a therapist. I've read more than once the therapist encourage the dumping of men based on their pornography habits ...

I don't know. I find women and men just as bad in this respect. My current partners girlfriend used to read romantic fiction at bedtime before rolling over and expecting sex. Yet this seems more acceptable than pornography?

I think there is limits though - like anything this stuff can be unhealthy for men and women. I've had an ex that was waaaaay too much into BDSM which was pretty awkward. It seemed more of a need or requirement than a desire.

I do think the accessibility of sex is a bit of a problem these days. It does create an instant reward type of environment, and devalues spending time with a person but you know maybe it isn't a bad thing. I think it's just really hard to work out.

Life has a way of balancing itself out though and people will get used to the internet I think.

I admit i was addicted to it but have since thrown a webacm out only to buy another one several months down the line and then return it to the shop before the deadline for refunds

Seriously it can really become an addiction and i guess my thread is also about that.... addiction and the cost of it!!

Just make sure you vary your activities. Having a thing that you do is one thing ... I think it's a problem when a person is reliant on certain things to 'get off' to the point they can't do anything else.

all the woman in like 10 years, will have a porn video on the web

lets be real, the age of technology made it very easy to make it, and every man seem to want to record it

your video may not be online right now, but when you break up, and you will break up, your video will be online and well ... this "mistake" will always be available

the problem is not that the women lost their values, the problem as always is restricted to ignorance; they dont have any idea of the power of the internet, they think nobody would be able to get it, or whatever

nowadays its ridiculous, you can find a lot of things thought facebook and those things, so, if you ever do a porn video, someone will end up finding who you are and thats not a good thing for various reasons

and about girls doing bad things in the webcam, lets be real, the girls in the past did these things too, but there were no cams to record it, so, you never saw that

in like 10 years, the new sons will find their moms sex tape without problems on the web. then, I think we will have a great awareness, and people will stop doing it with their faces on, at least

lets remember, all these people on sex tapes right now, they probably dont have a family (in the sense of sons, since they are young), they are just messing around ... they dont have any idea of the power of the internet

OK, those of you that were on board with me will probably jump ship now.

So, our sons see us having sex......so what?

I mean really? I wouldn't get any particular turn on from seeing my parent's having sex, but I'm glad they are doing it. I hope they keep doing it, and they keep enjoying it. My 4 year old and 2 year old have probably seen to much, and we try to take precautions to keep them out, but I hope they grow up with a healthy curiousity and an intelligent, open-mind about the whole subject. Hopefully they won't view it as some taboo subject that people should avoid and frown or scoff at.

If my 4 year old becomes a 12 year old and he happens across a sex video of his mother and me together, or a sex video of his mother and me not together on spring break in years past. Either way, I won't care. It will affect him one of two ways. Either he will be entirely grossed out and quit looking at porn, or he will say his parents are pretty cool and he hopes to meet a woman and have a good relationship like ours. Either way is a win in child-rearing.

In my opinion, it all comes down to intelligence and rationality, and confidence in one's self, and in good relationships and honesty with your partner and your kids, and understanding our biological nature compared to our restrictive society.

You have a point and i have to add.... wat will they tell their daughters/sons about how they got their cash?

I can't see them sitting them down and saying 'well son/daughter i made my cash displaying my charms on the internet sexcam websites' ....

Anyway... i guess the Internet is here to stay so the option to delve into a webcam sex site will always be there... i can either try and avoid this myself or switch off the internet to be completely free of the addiction... the problem with the last option is i need the internet.... it's much faster for communication and easier to connect with others...

My 2 cents:

First, I would like to point out that I am a young woman in her 20's. 80's baby! Oh yea!

Anyways...

Since the internet came out, lots of brand new businesses and ideas have arose into the mainstream. Thanks to "a complicated series of tubes underground" we can talk to, and see people from one continent to another, without picking up a video phone.

Web-cam "sex" (aka cybering) is a product of this new technology. But this sort of prostitution of oneself has been around longer than the internet. The market just adapted to new technology.

During the last decade, the economy has been slowing down a lot. A lot of women are much more independent entering adulthood, competing for jobs and school placements. How is a woman to afford independence if there is a slim job market with 100's competing for the same job posting?

Instead of hitting up the Strip club, where you can be groped, raped, drugged, etc.. many woman choose the comfort of their own home to "entertain" for money. I had teachers in high school who used to be ex-strippers. I say it's just that technology has changed. Now it just went online.

Entertaining online has nothing to do with a person being in a relationship. One can be in a very fulfilling relationship with another person while having such a "job".

Me and my boyfriend play online sometimes for extra cash on the side for rainy day investments.

Why not?

If my 4 year old son asks why he got a new bike, he doesn't need details, I'll just tell him because I love him.

If my 12 year old son asks why he got a new bike, he doesn't need details, I'll just tell him because I love his mother so much.

If my 16 year old son asks why he got a new car, he doesn't need details, I'll just tell him because his mother still looks as good as she did when he was a 4 year old!!

I'm guessing if you type in "Webcam sex" you'll get a lot of women, but what if you just go to a site like Omegle or Chat roulette?

Guessing most pornography (related) material is consumed by men, but what are the social factors dictating that etc etc?

Kudos to you for being so open about your activities too, I'm just not so keen on the tone of the OP - to my reading it comes across as kinda misogynist... but that's my reading of it.

I agree with the others who said: supply and demand

Also, its probably safer for them to have virtual sex than be hooking up with random strangers and all the issues that come with that.

I'm getting a bit fed up of all the misogynistic postings on ATS lately.

And i'm not even a woman!

There seems to be a nucleus of members who regularly bash women, mainly on sexual matters.

Adding a tiny codicil to loosely include men at the end of the post doesn't change the tenor or the target of your one sided insinuation mate.

Are you racist as well as sexist? When are you hypocrites ever going to realize that there are human beings, who by way of chemical chance at and just after conception, happen to be be born with either male or female reproductive organs, sometimes rarely both sets?

We are all the same, male, female, black, white, big, small, loud, quiet, agreeable, argumentative, and everything else a human being could be, is irrelevant!

As an aside..what sex do you think is mostly sitting at their computers pleasuring themselves watching these people on webcams? Is it a moral thing to be an avid consumer of porn, amateur or otherwise, but not to produce the porn then?

Women are the same as men. They have the same wants and needs. They have the same sexual desires as men do too.

If you get your jollies by pointing fingers at who you consider to be immoral human beings, you can stop singling out 50% of our species on some hypocritical women bashing crusade, simply because they are equipped with ovaries instead of testes, we're all generally as immoral or moral as the next person, despite our gender.
