Firstly let me say this is not just about women using web cams for sex - men are definitely using them as well. With that said I believe its just a new age way of getting together. Most likely safer than going to a massage parlor or working in one. As far as I know you can't get pregnant or get an STD thru the internet. The whole idea of having relations in this way is personally not my thing but I am sure many enjoy it.

OP I must say your title implies this only pertains to women - what! its okay for men and not women? Please rethink if not change your thread title.

I definitely agree with you. It is a significant issue in the development of a young person, and it definitely has lasting effects, and in extreme cases they are never fully overcome.

But, I still contend that the psychological issues are more important than the actual physical acts. Kids that are abused by stranger or babysitter, and the perpetrator is caught and punished, and the supportive family help them through the ordeal fair the best by far. That proves that the physical act is overcome by the environment and support.

On the other hand, when the abuse is from a primary caretaker, or it is ignored or ridiculed by the primary caretakers, then the recovery is very poor or non-existent. There are feelings of guilt, resentment, abandonment, worthlessness as a person, and they develop a personal identity as an object instead of a being. They may never overcome this self-identity problem and cling to sex as their only real value to offer a potential friend/mate/boss etc.

I am sure you mean well,
but safety is one of the main reasons for online sexual pleasure.
Illness like AiDS, makes direct sexual interplay
iffy at best... Condoms can only go so far, and many times they fall off, so the protection from the virus and unwanted pregnancy is nul and void.

Time is Money in a mans world so just to keep their .s above water. Working women do not have time to engage in an out-moted Dating Ritual which might or might not lead to a mutually satisfying sexual relationship.

Maybe said woman or man are Bi and want to experiment with this alternative life style before jumping into deep water, they may not be able of swim across. They trade profiles with others online, and if compatible, maybe they chat. Both learning about their own sexuality in the safety of their own worlds, and without the mess and possibly disastrous family rupture. From coming out of the closet to soon or maybe not at all...

Safer, cleaner, and with no financial, or religious obligations, saddling them with the wrong person until a divorce lawyer tears both of their worlds apart.

I am a Lady looking for more, but that does not mean I have
not had a cyber fling or two. Once a woman like myself have felt
a rapist hands, safety if paramount.

Listen, Learn, and don't preach.
My Hippy generation learned your old fashion morals have no
place in the modern world... I for one will never be forced into a relationship again without deep trust,as well as sexual compatibility, those two traits in the same human, are hard to find...

I Wish You Well

They join these websites to make money off of desperate men.

On chat sites web cam sex is common but not too many women do it but there is a whole group of men always looking for it no matter what kind of room you in.

Just go to yahoo chat as a woman and you will see what I mean.

No one has lost their morals. Our morals are no different than in more supposedly refined eras. The only difference between us and the prudish veneer of those in the shadow of the Victorian era is that we in this day and age are not hypocrites. We indulge in our more base, animal pleasures every bit as much as they did, we just admit it.

Your reply is disappointing. In a few paragraphs you have completely disregarded the choices made by women and the responsibilities they should entail and have made it seem that men are in fact to blame. Men are not forcing women to do these things; they are doing it because they know it is a lucrative industry and some of them simply enjoy it.

Only an ignoramus would regard Man's high sexual drive as Perverse; only a Feminist (or Echo-Feminist) would excuse the bad decisions made by women as the fault of Men.

How is that any different than being a stripper?

The women who do this, do it for the money mostly, and it's very good money at that. Men pay per minute to view this sort of stuff.

It's actually safer for the women too as they are in the privacy of their own homes and are collecting MASSIVE ammounts of money.

Also the only reason this exists, is because there is a demand for it. Maybe we should be looking at the moral values of men, instead of blaming women for what is obviously a supply and demand issue.

And who's morals are we basing this on? The last time I checked the naked human body is a beautiful thing. Why are we so critical about grown adults doing what makes them happy, while they aren't hurting anybody and actually making enough money to support themselves?

Such prudes I tell you.

The women and the men are equally degraded reprobates who should not be let within a hundred miles of decent people... If i found out that my daughters had been partakers of this filth they would indeed feel the buckle end of my belt no matter what age they are.. I would not have them bringing shame on thereselves and the family... The guys who do this probably could not satisfy or keep a real woman... Sad and sick people on both sides of the camera... Yuck!

Please elaborate? I don't understand your response.

I never placed "blame" on either sex. I have said all along that there is nothing wrong with these actions on either side. The only "blame" that I placed was the motivation for why the majority of the people on camera were women. The men are the ones spending money, and therefore the webcams are dominated by women. It is supply and demand.

I did use the term perversion. I often use it, even when describing myself. I don't consider it a negative thing. Many people desire more and more variety or "spice" in their sex lives to keep them interesting. Our sex drives are very high, and we get bored quickly. Therefore we are more experimental and develop more and more perversions. Nothing more, nothing less.

It may be supply and demand, but the women having webcam sex with men for money are doing so by their own choice. They should carry the responsibilities and repercussions for taking part in these actions. Have you considered that women who exploit a weakness in men (desire for sex) for money might be partially responsible for the negative labels they receive?

If you want to describe yourself as perverse, feel free - just don't lump all of us men into that label. Maybe we have differing definitions for Perversion, but I believe man's strong sexual drive is motivated by more than just psychological desires.

Some of the responses on this thread are nothing short of silly

I have worked in the Adult Entertainment Industry for my entire adult life. What can I say? The money is good

Now with that being said, all this really is about is the evolution of the world's oldest profession....Prostitution. As technology is advancing, so are the ways we make purchases. People today shop online for just about everything. Clothes, cars, furniture. Just a few months ago I bought my motorcycle after finding it online via Craigslist. You now also can buy women online as well.

To think that web cam sex is restricted to just women, that is just false. Women however have cornered the market so to speak as far as charging for web cam sex. To prove my point, you can use a program that used to come standard on any windows program called Netmeeting. Now you can open that program and attempt to find someone to talk to. If you open the listings that shows who is available you will notice that the majority are men. If you attempt to call, you will notice that the majority are naked. On occasion you will find a female listed there... rarely. Most women do it for profit. Hence why you find so many "Cam girls" on the net.

In regards to the poster who mentioned lack of families, values, morals, or sexual abuse. I'd say it goes hand in hand. Most Porn stars that I know, as well as strippers and cam girls all have a few things in common. After 20 years in this line of work, it has become obvious to me that the majority have either been raped, molested, physically abused or neglected. Out of the thousands of women I have talked to (and thousands is in no way an exaggeration) I have met only ONE who claimed to not fall into one of those four categories... just one, and I honestly think she was lying.

Hey Wait a minute!

This is what I'm hearing.

Morals, Sex, Supply, Demand, Addiction, Perversion, Money, Women, etc...

There is nothing wrong with having sex, enjoying it, wanting it. I mean it's the most beautiful natural thing all humans have in common.

But funny how no one mentions the Acts involved in webcam sex.

That's where the problem was created and where it lies. The sheer amount of people that have now been subjected, indoctrinated to Unnatural sexual acts is what quickly became the problem. It's no longer like those 1920's black and white flicks where there was a quick top flash or bottom one to get men aroused. Today it's things that were probably never meant to be done by humans.

Ask yourselves WHY you are watching online porn or webcam sex and you will see that the supply and demand is not due to a lack of sex, but a lack of perverted sexual acts you've been mentally hi-jacked to accept as forms of arousal.

Sex has changed thanks to the internet, and so have you, and that's exactly the way they want it.

My response may seem brutal, ugly and undesired to your inquiry about women's morals, a woman's relationship, and women & sex; however...

when you look at human history, women have often times (nearly always/exclusively) been some form of property. There have been varying degrees of ownership, but without doubt- they have been a commodity for tens of thousands of years.

Therefore, to ponder this new found issue of morals, relationships and sex for women... well, its only in the Western world where they're so free, and it has only been a short, short stint within the perspective of human history (what, maybe almost 100 years?).

Women in a genetic anthropological sense are breeders. Property used for procreation (like I said... it would be an ugly comment to most). Their moral codes are those impressed upon them by male control elements (the church, state, el guapo, or jim bridger types).

Their relationships have almost always been (except in special protected circumstances when both father and the husband who bought her were concerned for her opinion) for the sexual pleasure of the male, often in silent obedience, where crafty and complex thinking benefited her in a world where her relationships were defined by others- not her.

You're seeing the illogical expression of freedom from genetically imbued slavery. Irrational. Extreme. Wild. -just look at the "roaring 20s" for a glimpse of hindsight.

Like the Native American who has little immunity to fire-water and small pox, so too are the women of the Western world to sex and power. They have a few chance years of free choices, and allow their hearts to rule their .- it just doesn't come natural to them.

Women often want to be desirable. Women often want both a man who is humble and mold-able to sit her chicks, but she also wants the surging and untamed man with passion and power.

This, I believe, is a temporary attempt in human history to try to pretend that women and men are the same. ... and hopefully, it will end sooner than later. There are much better alternatives to the old way, and the webcam way. Ways that are harmonious to our very nature.

Once in a great while there appears a thread that asks what appears to be a simple question but plunges into something very profound. This is one and I wish that I could say that I was surprised at how many radar screens this managed to fly under. S&F for what should have been a thought provoking post.

On the subject of morality, especially where it deals with our favorite past time, I guess I've seen what I'd expect to see minus the prudes. Moral relativism, the "if it feels good do it" crowd, what's wrong with it and on and on. But, no one seems to be able to see past the sex.

It's a symptom of a syndrome. One of those markers along the road side that tell us where we're .ed and how fast we're getting there. It's the Rise And Fall Of The American Empire and it ought to be obvious to anyone who has studied history.

From the economic perspective I doubt very much if any of these women make much money. If I gave you $100 bucks it wouldn't be a lot but it would be worth something. But, if I told you you'd have to share it with 100 other people suddenly it's nothing at all.

The fact that many young women are willing to trade virtue for a few bucks says a lot about where our moral compass is pointing. It's also is a good indicator of how bad our economy is getting. People are going to eat no matter what they have to do to fill their bellies. Teenagers and the under 25 crowd are especially hard hit in the job market. As the economy continues it's nose dive expect to see more of this and expect it to encompass a broader and broader spectrum of women trying to put food on the table.

Some may even think it's fun to be thought of as nothing more than sex meat. Once again, where's our moral compass because in order to sell you must have a buyer.

Calcutta comes to main street.

When Rome fell the end came fairly quickly. Cross your fingers that providence is as merciful to us. When anything goes everything's gone. The line between man and animal is getting blurrier and blurrier.

What is unnatural? I doubt that such thing as unnatrual exists at all. Maybe you should've used one of the terms like 'uncommon' or 'unorthodox' or something alike.

Any woman who will do that undervalues herself.

The internet is removing people from people.

So are mobile phones.
