I did not know you could create a false original post like this and then comment on it.I will contact the mods and see if this is OK,if so then what good does it do to say anything unless you agree with the OP,sounds like this administration,"its my way or no way".

One fact remains: The constitution guarantees everyone's right of freedom of religion!

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, clear pixel and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." -United States Constitution

Above is exactly what the constitution says about the mosque, the people protesting it and the media reporting the protest

And every single point legally supports the construction of this mosque...even if it guarantees a peaceful protest at the same time. Legally, it's a total no brainer, that mosque can be built just like the hot dog joint next door, and nothing can/should stop it.

And there have been protests by the people to stop strip clubs, adult movie stores, etc. from being in their neighborhoods to their success...and the same will happen with the mosque as long as the government follows the constitution and does not get involved

Of course people can protest over the building of the mosque, but that doesn't mean the mosque cannot be built. Which it will be imo, most people won't even care about this topic by next year.

You're missing my point: Personally, I don't care if they build a temple dedicated to albinos who sacrifice babies to pagan gods - the choice IMO however, should be left to New Yorkers who were directly affected by 9/11. If they want the mosque built, fine. If they don't, fine. Granted it won't happen like that because as I said, I understand their constitutional right to do this - but if they really wanted to build "bridges" as it were, they would start by listening to those who would be their neighbors and respecting what they went through almost nine years ago to the day - even if those wishes are coming from a place of paranoia or misinformation.

As far as your incredibly weak analogy is concerned, if that black guy's culture were chiefly presented to the world by a small, but uber violent minority of religious nutjobs halfway around the world that professed hatred and swore destruction on the place he was moving to (hence the "lots" of white folks being killed that you mentioned), I'd still respect his right to move there - but if he were smart he'd step lightly and understand that not a whole lot of people would welcome him with open arms.

Next time you try to paint someone with the racist brush, at least add a little context...

Actually, popular opinion supported the civil rights movement, and many of the religious nutcases opposed civil rights.

Real Americans stand up for their beliefs.

There are many fundamental beliefs held by Muslims that directly contradict the principles of the U.S., and fighting to protect the principles of our nation is very much a cause worth fighting for.

The same goes for all religious wackos, of all religions.

Do you realize it was the Republicans who supported the Civil Rights Bill and the Democrats who were against it. Funny how that has become lost knowledge.

You do realize it's a business district, right? There's not actually a lot of people living around there full time

In fact, the whole area (blocks behind GZ) has been a bit of a ghost town since 9/11. Most of the buildings around that mosque are still empty, even 9 years!

100% evidence that brainwashing works, prove me wrong..

This was clearly a diversion of public attention, it goes to show how easy it is for politicians to do that.

Just like that? It feels like magic

So it's ok for Muslims to pray inside of the Pentagon, a building hit on 9-11 by Muslims (alledgely). But it's not ok for Muslims to pray a few blocks from ground zero? Oh that's right, the Pentagon's prayer room for Muslims was planned and started during the Bush Administration. And this is an election year. These people have become so predictable and boring. Every election cycle it's the same as it ever was. Be afraid, abortion, religion, be more afraid, socialists, terrorists, still skeered? I have given up hope on the conservatives ever having any kind of plan to move the country forward. The only thing they do anymore is run their mouths, play their games, get people hating their countrymen a little bit more and contribute NOTHING to solving our many problems. And their supporters love them for it. Just so long as they can keep their heads buried in the sand and live in their 1950's fantasy or whatever it is they wish life was like here. The great GOP should change their Mascot from an Elephant to an Ostrich, it's much more appropriate.
As a foot note, do you guys actually think you're being funny or whitty when you use terms like Libtard, Lame Stream Media, Hopey Changey, or any of those other litle power labels that you guys parrot from Rush or Sarah?
You may now return your head to its proper position.
Libtard!!!!! ROFL

My question would be how accurate is that picture and the political beliefs of those behind it?

If you really believe this is a victory mosque, you've been brainwashed by the media

The Koran (018:021) states: "Build a building over them, their Lord knows best about them; and those who prevailed in their affair said, 'We will surely make a mosque over them.'"

This is not a direct commandment to build on a place of victory, but there is a tradition of building mosques to celebrate or symbolize victory.

The al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem is built on top of one of the holiest sites in Judaism, the Temple Mount. The former St. Sophia's Basilica, once the world's largest cathedral and orthodox patriarchal basilica, was torn down and replaced with the principal mosque of Istanbul. The Cordoba mosque in Spain was a former Christian cathedral. Muslims have engaged in this practice for centuries, symbolizing their victories over the infidels.

Close your mouth and open a book once in a while.

Christians have chruchs EVERYWHERE, why cant the muslisms have a Mosque?

This is about reilgion not country, about oil not revenge, after awhile an eye for an eye will make everybody blind, but thats homo sapiens for you, too simple minded to comprehend the basic of thoughts, such as WE ARE ALL THE SAME.

something like that should be known to everyone but its not very few think about it, so a christian the muslisms are the orcs that need to die, because they can only look from one view not both.

We must be replaced by homo novus before we can find peace, how sad is that?

That's if you take things literally, and we all know the majority of people doesn't do that...just like the majority of Christians don't take the bible literally, luckily. Otherwise it would still be ok to kill your slave if you beat him only enough to make him survive another day before dying.

Everyone acts as if all Muslims are extremists, which is total hogwash...just like most Christians aren't crazy fundis.

It is IMPERATIVE that we as a nation recognize the difference between extremist fundamentalists, and the rest of us.

If we cannot see there is a difference YOUR religion will be next on the chopping block!

All it will take is ONE PERSON who is a member of your religious belief to do some something like this and claim that is what your religion teaches and then ALL members of your religion will be condemned.

While the people should FULLY have a right to protest the building of the Religious Center, the protest should have no impact on the legal right to build it.

It is like protesting against the freedom of assembly.

If the Religious Center is not built the ONLY way it should not be is because the person building it decides against it.

You can SHOVE any notion of "respect for those killed". There were many Muslims killed in that attack also who were not extremist fundamentalists.

EXTREMIST FUNDAMENTALIST
THE REST OF US
LEARN THE DIFFERENCE

Its way better in context!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is were you got your original quote from.....

wiki.answers.com...

Here is the entire thing.....

www.jannah.org...

That should suffice.

Now I wonder why do people AGAINST ISLAM NEED to take their "quotes" OUT OF CONTEXT?

Ignorance PWNED!!!
