I'm glad you are a proud sociallist! If you would please volunteer to pay my share for those who aren't willing to work, I would appreciate it, Would like to keep as much of my own hard earned money as possible. There need to be more people with your philosiphy! If every person who didn't deserve to be on social programs though were, had one hard working sociallist to support them, It would free up billions for those of us who diagree with you.

This had nothing to do with "progams that support infrastructure". Even then, many of those are outlandishly funded, and in many cases unneeded. They are simply a way for the current politition to prove they have done "something" for their State. This post is about those who take federal benefits for grantid, who rely on them, who don't deserve them, and don't in the long run, care who is paying for them. Continue to run up the deficit my friend. When this economy collapses because of it, Those who are already use to being self resilient will make it, those who are not will be met with demise.

does not use federal funded phones
lets move on to State funded stuff this guy is trying to convince us that he never uses.

I'm sure that he feels entitled to do so, since he is paying for it. He just wants a "thank you" from those who don't.

Social welfare programs are a must...for those who need it. We can all tell stories about people that we know or at least have some contact with who abuse the system. I think his point is that these people couldn't care less about unethically sapping from the system.

Or are you of the disposition that anyone should be able to use the social welfare system arbitrarily? If not, then what is your problem?

Until I came to this site, I never realized just how socialist this world had become. Or is it just this site? Does nobody, worldwide, pay attention to history?

Exactly.

You should be happy you are strong (or lucky) enough to support yourself.

You negated any respect you might have deserved from this thread...

The social programs are a drop in the bucket. Corporate welfare, subsidies, war profiteering, foreign aid, is where the majority of your tax dollars are going.

But it's so much more fun parroting Sean, Limbaugh, Glen B. and looking for a scapegoat rather than the real problem with waste and fraud at a level most aren't even aware of.

costofwar.com...

I work, employ a few people, pay my taxes, did my military service and enjoy the bountiful fruits of this great land.

I count my blessings and don't whine. Man up for Christ sake!

I know 2 people (families) that suck the system dry. Not only getting ALL government handouts but also hitting food banks and taking advantage of community services like churches that have VBS and they act like it is a babysitting service. They Never give back anything. Both the mother's spend A LOT of time playing charity bingo throwing what money they do have away. Their children act up and are destructive. They will get a job "just long enough" to get the benefits and unemployment. They won't even give their children a decent Christmas, it is a box of donated food and a trip to toys for tots. These types of people NEED to say thanks and sorry but it will not happen because they believe it is theirs by right. They pay minimal rent, free groceries, free health care, free childcare, free everything then they get a rebate check from the government on top of it all. My husband works hard always has, I am a stay at home mom of 4. I have a garden, chickens, pigs, and goats. I bake our bread and almost everything else that can be homemade. We buy our beef from another family that raises a few each year and they sell part of it to get the money to buy the next round of beef for next year. We raise a pig through the winter and have it slaughtered in the spring. There are in MY opinion few excuses. The elderly and TRULY sick and disabled are it. Sorry for format but I was typing one handed while holding my 8 month old baby who has never been to a babysitter just like her older three siblings (the oldest being twelve). Oh and did I mention I was married 10 years before I had my first child?

I have worked my butt off my entire life. For that matter since I was fourteen, I don't remember a day when I did not work to support my own wants or needs. I fully agree with those who actually need and deserve social benifits being given them. I do not agree with those who work the system (who are a high percentage, and dont care). I don't need your respect, I speak the truth as I see it. I respect myself for not having to rely on any individual or any government agency, even though it breaks me daily.

I am not saying people don't take advantage of the system. We all have some relative or friend who does.

But what do you want done to fix it?

The system has been that way since its implementation.

BTW, star for your post.

Cocky little bunch that thinks just because they support a government that begs for money like a homeless person needing a meal and they gladly give it,
they need a thank you.

I do not want Thanks for supporting a Government that rips me off and gives it away!

I do realize it it fun, siding with a party, feeling important, and attacking who they want you to. Although looking at actual facts, thinking about your own life and well-being, and being an individual versus a mouthpiece can be far more rewarding. I would say to give it a try, although your are probably on some program that I'm paying for, where this is part of the program.

Are you suggesting we are voluntarily "giving it", and that it is not being forcefully taken?

Wouldn't it be the people taking from the system that has the gun held to his head instead?
