The above image comes from the History channels UFO documentary "UFO-I Know What I Saw". The video series can be seen on youtube at the following link.

The diagram is based on the sketches made by Lt. Col. Charles Halt that he claims to have seen on the UFO at Rendlesham Forest on December 27, and early December 28, 1980. The video states that mathematics is the universal language and they attempt to analyze the symbols.

I have an idea that I am trying to get people interested in and there is a link to the idea in my signature. My challenge to the members of ATS is to create a set of mathematical symbols that would basically say something like "Welcome, Please land here."

EDIT:
The reason I am asking for this sign is for a landing site or pad. I am still attempting to gather useful information that will help design a center for first contact.

Umm... how can we spell out an English phrase with geometric symbols?

Plus, if we're going on the hypothesis that there are aliens observing us, then we have to believe they have the science to come here from distant stars, which would mean they'd have incredibly advanced technology (AI and quantum computers), so I'm pretty sure they have cataloged all of our languages by now. It'd be a piece of cake to hack into and decode every single satellite orbiting us.

Why not just spell out "Welcome Alien Overlords" with some gasoline in a field? They'd understand it.

Every time I mention anything about trying to make first contact I get the same replies. People either complain that it would never work or they tell me that you have to use ESP or some other ridiculous nonsense.

Please, if you can not do the math or help build on my idea, please do not post here. I have already heard all the reasons why believers do not want any kind of effort to contact an alien species. I know that you fear that your religion may be proven wrong so please just leave this thread alone if you can not help.

Well what base would you have this formula be created from.

The symbols sent out By NASA on one of their money wasting ventures of taxpayers money had symbols on it.

That right there would be proof enough that our government knows there is life out there.

Millions of ordinary people all over the world through out history have reported them.

Have you seen a duckbilled platypus?

Just because you or anyone you know have not does not mean they don't exist.

They are nocturnal(come out a night sleep during the day) and burrow under river banks for their dens.

Just the opposite of humans,who sleep at night and live along the river bank,or close to it.

They existed along with the white Australian settlers for a long time before somebody saw one and captured it.

The Aboriginals didn't even know of them!

You should prove they DON'T exist.

And use spell check too.

I have never said that I didn't believe in UFO's because I have seen them myself, I do not however believe that they are alien spacecraft or that they are from the future.

My idea for a base/welcome center is something that I believe we need. It is an idea that I would think every UFO enthusiast would be interested in. I am willing to work toward building it but no "believer" is. When I came up with this idea I believed that some UFO's could be alien in nature. Since joining ATS, I am more convinced than ever that it is a religion because people are so defensive of their beliefs.

I ask that people help with building a base and I get insulted and ridiculed. Why?

I have posted this thread because I know there are highly intelligent people on ATS who could design this message. The reason that the message is needed is for the design of a landing pad. Is my idea really so ridiculous that it is a wast of time to even consider?

actually what I expected was for this post to be ignored. You say that you have made a point, ok I will give you that. You said that they would know our languages but can you prove that statement?

You have made it a point to insult me and call me names, what have I called you? Perhaps it was that I insulted your religion, if that is the case, I apologize. You have the right to believe what you want. Maybe it is because you simply can not see a reason for this, that's ok too. We don't have to agree.
