That's a point I think about a lot. Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Let's just take very recent history and think about 9/11. This was a horrific event, but a very small test when you compare it to what people around the world face daily. And our reaction to it...both the scope and the side effects it had in dividing us further...told a lot about our character as a nation.

Great post, as always. Do you think more people are realizing that the parties are the same? Minor cosmetic or, as I put it social differences, shouldn't really be enough to separate what we see unfolding before our very eyes. But then again we're being fractured on so many other lines besides party lines too, that I'd say they have their bases covered.

Lets just say that god forbid he does get assassinated, then so what, we will just get someone equally as bad in office, only it will give the government a very good excuse to clamp down more. If people haven't realized by now that it really isn't up to us who gets elected to the nation's highest public office, then they clearly aren't capable of viable plan to terminate the current office of President.

Interesting, that sounds like it could be the next false flag that would issue in martial law. Or at least make a good plot for a novel.

I find it hilarious that some of the posters bring out the "south" canard as if we have the market in racism cornered.
It's about race, of course it's about race. This is the first AA president and the AA preacher he brings out to give the prayer at the inauguration, admonishes whites to start acting right. Then Holder, then Harvard, then on and on and on.
People like my mother, a poor southerner who's only crime in life is trying to get by, according to you, your president and the rest, she's evil because she's white, that's it nothing else.
When we bring up Jeremiah Wright, we're racists, when we bring up the birth certificate, we're racists, when we bring up this uncomfortable fact that young blacks sure seem to like to rape white women at numbers wildly disproportionate on a per capita basis (maybe even actual?) we're racists, Haiti is a disaster zone because, hold on, wait for it, it's coming, it's because WE'RE RACISTS. And this guy, your president foments it at every opportunity.
Watch this guy, he doesn't have a care in the world, because he knows whats ahead. See there was a point not more than a couple months ago, that was the tipping point, and there's no going back now and we are in for the nightmare scenario and in the end it's because of you foolish narcissists prattling on endlessly about how special you are because you're so enlightened and you know the truth and why can't the "sheeple" join you.
It's over and it's because of you but go ahead and blame me because I'm a racist, I could give a flying f.

Shame on you, shame on all of you.

While certainly Obama is part of the whole right-left paradigm... if you actually do your homework there are actually ways in which he seeks to truly improve the lives of the masses over the elites.

Now of course he is guilty of helping the elites as well. However, I am NOT going to say it's part of a giant conspiracy and he's 100% in line with it. What I will say is that our government is severely mired in corruption, lobbying, politics, bureaucracy, conflicts of interest and inter-agency wars. We cannot sit here and act like we know EXACTLY what Obama is experiencing or thinking. For all we know he may have gone in thinking he was going to stick it to the man and then realized that he couldn't when faced with the actual system. I'm not saying he's a radical, he's not at all. But there is a PROPAGANDA war going on. The right-wing after Bush was facing ANNIHILATION and now they've attached themselves to insane conspiracy theories and artificial populism to shift ALL the hate and attention to vague specters of Obama, Socialism, Nazism, and so on when in reality the right-wing has always exhibited far more fascism. They're absolutely making sh** up to support an uneducated and extremist right-wing agenda and AT THE VERY LEAST to save their party from sinking. And guess what... it's working. The GOP was sinking fast and they have pulled out ALL the stops to save themselves. And it just might get our first black president assassinated, and they WILL have blood on their hands for it. I mean, I'm an Anarchist but for chrissakes I will NOT stand for lies, propaganda, and phony populist movements that will end up bringing us Fascism despite any superficial cries for freedom.

The very simple fact that Fox News is putting out this kind of propaganda and a bunch of uneducated, small-town, latently racist geriatrics are buying it should tell you THAT IT'S PURE LYING PROPAGANDA. And don't you dare tell me I'm wrong... I LIVE near people like this I am surrounded by them and I hear it NONSTOP. It disgusts and enrages me to no end.

FOX NEWS IS NOT WAKING ANYBODY UP IT'S SHUTTING THEIR EYES AND MANIPULATING THEM AS USUAL.

It's seriously disgusting how many people believe all the insane BS. STAY SANE, PEOPLE, YOUR MISTRUST OF THE GOVERNMENT IS BEING USED AGAINST YOU.

Maybe the original post would have more impact if people of another political persuasion hadn't wanted to do the exact same thing to the last president.

Are you referring to Rick Warren or Joseph Lowery regarding the inauguration prayer?

Thing is, there are subfactions within the very PTB too, with different agendas. There is a battle playing out along those very lines right now, and most people don't even realize it. Some subfactions are worse than others. And sometimes to beat the beast you must support one to beat another more evil one. Temporarily. Use their own differences to get what you want (out of Afghanistan, for example) then reset the game and go on to the next battle.

You really think you can win that way? According to most of ATS, the whole game is rigged in their favor. That's like walking into the casino and thinking because you saw some kids win at blackjack on TV you can beat the house. Go walk into the Bellagio. When you spend 55 million dollars on the lobby you know how to make money even when some shmuck wins a few dollars.

At the heart of this is a an age old struggle: The desire to command. The Tea Party/Republican cats aren't the path to anything (nor are the democrats for that matter). They will get in power and then crap all over the country because they are in charge. They just wanted to call the shots. They don't care about anything but that in truth. The TPTB will be able to use them just like anyone else because of that.

We've already covered that a few times too. I think it might well be a cumulative effect of frustration and an ever-worsening set of circumstances. Seems that Bush's wanna-be assassins took a while to gear up, until he built up some reasons for them...Obama's hit the ground running during the primaries...before he was even in office. I might be wrong, but that's how I remember it.

To some, they just can't deal with the fact that a black man is president of their country. To some they are being ginned up by the media in order for some nutbag to do something. But what all this says and what the people can't seem to place is their true fear and problems which is that we as a people and a nation are at the final leg of the trip and part of us know it. We've had it good for too long and hadn't had to worry about to much, all we had to do is put flags out and ribbons and always back the govt.. They know that we are in are twilight and they are running scared. They feel something is wrong but can't put a finger on the problem (illegal aliens, affirmative action, Obama, republicans, democrats etc. etc.), they just know that whatever it is it's giving them a sense of foreboding that something bad is coming to take away everything that they strived for over the decades.

All the promises the govt. has made to the public they have a feeling won't be honored. They are seeing the results of their myopic attention to the world and their own best interest and the govt. that encouraged them to be that way. I have a quote that fits what is happening to people in the US and in other parts of the world.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Quote from Joseph Goebbels Hitlers propaganda man.

The govt. can't protect or shield them anymore and the people are starting to feel it.

Well that's how they play the game, so I figure it's one thing to try. Obama's masters don't want to stay in Afghanistan. Doing so or escalating anywhere else in the Middle East will kill the U.S. deader than dead. It'll tear us apart for the final time. Congress knows this too, but there is a subfaction war going on behind the scenes. One must only watch the players and their subtle lines and affiliations to see what this is.

So yes, I say support the lesser evil for a minute and get us out of Afghanistan and do not let us get pulled into Iran. That's how the game is played. If we try to "fight" them both at once we get nowhere. We're flailing in the wind.

And just who is going to get us out of Afghanistan? I get Ron Paul professes this, but he's got a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

Why doesn't anybody wan't Bush dead? Or Cheney? Or the CEO's of any number of evil companies like Monsanto, BP, or anyone involved in banking.

People that wan't Obama dead are short sighted fools. Obama is just the current public face of a long line of secret society goons bent on total world domination and a program of rapid depopulation.

The answer isn't to kill the figure-head. The answer is total class warfare. Kill all the rich people and burn down their mansions and salt the earth where their corpses lay.

Actually, the CFR sees no point in it at the moment. So do many top advisors who are not of the PNAC/neocon/Zionist bent. The view that it would be catastrophic to this nation to get further entrenched in the ME.

The whole diversion in N. Korea is a countermove on the chessboard. Follow Clinton. She's CFR. So is Obama. This is the same cycle we saw in 2007, by the way, when the balance of power was slightly tipped the other way.

Just a theory and off topic. Sorry. Oh and Ron Paul is a non-interventionalist and would bring our troops home from everywhere.

Sounds like a non-story to me. Some hill-billy's in a teary rage... Probably racists too!

Obama is one of the best presidents so far. Left-wing liberals might be disappointed he's not liberal enough.

Right wing Conspiracy tea party movements nuts are disappointed that his administration is doing a pretty good job and that he hasn't done anythinng remotely extreme yet, like the conspiracy sites said he would..

So, a bunch of old fogeys talk about how the president should be assasinated?

meh ...

I guess it would bother me more if the president didn't have a list of Americans to be assasinated, and the people to carry it out.

oh i believe the mind altering tech is being used for
some form of experiment in your country and has
been for some time but for what goals i cannot say.

the tech is real FACT.

i wonder myself if the UK has a similar programme
running to shape and control the Masses at times.

As to some one getting a shot off at the pres i think
this would be stopped well before it happened due to
what i believe is a form of precognitive type of tech
that i think may have been perfected and exists

this is far fetched but who knows what mind technology
has been developed these days?so a hit on POTUS would
have to come from an insider,MK ULTRA type,or totally
spur of the moment. this is only a theory but i do believe
this tech is being developed,a kind of precognitive device
that would be looking for the thoughts of a hit on the pres.?

They didn't seem like hillbillies to me. Nor particularly racist either. Just average, elderly people. Well dressed, well mannered until that point.

And in part this is why I posted the story...to see how prevalent this kind of thinking might be around the country.

The first part of your post is easy to explain-They want to bomb Iran. Of course they are going to downtalk Afghanistan. They'd rather throw rockets some place else right now.

And you don't need to explain who Ron Paul is to me. i know who he is. What i'm saying is he has no shot at winning. So who is the lesser of two evils that is going to get us out of Afghanistan?

I also had a dream very similar to yours. It occurred shortly after he was elected. The dream had such a powerful impact on me that a day does not go by that I don't think about it. It is strange that it is his tie that he was wearing that I remember the most. Whenever he is speaking at a public event I always focus on the color and pattern of his tie. This drives me nuts because I can't recall any of my dreams ever coming true, yet this dream haunts me.
