Way to spread your fear and hate.
Keep perpetrating it...that's exactly what someone wants you to do.

WOW.... "a bit extreme" ... really? Islam is a religion of hate!!! fact!!!
All of these terrorist acts are done by Muslims in the name of allah.

Allah was a pedophile!!! Every Muslim terrorist bombing is in the name of Allah. Allah is the god of war and violence.

So why then is Allah a God of War?

Allah is a god of war because the beliefs associated with his worship encourages its devotees to violence and war. What are these beliefs?

To begin with, Islam has this belief that a warrior, who dies in a jihad to spread or defend Islam, goes straight to heaven and be awarded with 72 Virgins. This is somewhat similar to the religion of the Vikings who believed that brave fallen warriors go to Valkyries and feast forever in Odin’s hall.

This belief was firmly planted by Islam’s Prophet himself who led a Holy War against his enemies and promised Paradise to fallen warriors. He even encouraged Islam’s first suicide warrior.

But Muslims regard Prophet Mohammed as the perfect man and role model. In his life-time, Mohammed waged war, killed his enemies and critics. While his behavior was not unusual for a 7th century ruler, he did start a religion. To repudiate his example would be tantamount to rejecting Islam. Therefore, the Islamists have a better argument. That is why it is so hard for moderates to reform Islam and make it more suited for modern times.

This is why about half of the world’s conflicts today involves Muslims even though they account for only 25% of the world’s population. These conflicts are in Algeria, Kashmir, Aceh, Kalimantan, Maluku Islands, Papua New Guinea, Israel, Lebanon, Nigeria, Philippines, Chechenya, Sudan, Thailand, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Yemen and a civil war between Hamas and Fatah. Allah is truly a god of war.

I hope this is a loss in translation or the media is just messing around like always, because this is stupid.

Really? I live in America, and I could find that the evangelical Christians are pretty demanding here lately about such things as this being a Christian nation and the like. But I allow the radicals and evangelicals their beliefs and their speech and don't judge what I don't know. As for me, no Muslim or Christian is ever going to make me change, and I don't feel threatened by their beliefs or words or feeble attempts to do so, if those even exist. But that's just me.

With everything that's gone down in this thread I agree with what you said here and I don't much like a lot of what I sometimes here from the evangelical christians either.

Actually im doing this to stop any fear.
As far as the hate goes I think that is more up to the individual. Like I said in an earlier post like it or hate it I don't care. The same goes for me as an individual. Start to bring laws of state into the mix, and I care.

If i wanted to draw Mohammed as some kind of crab creature with a beard made from nettles whilst defecating upon a crowd of Mecca woshippers - then it is my right to do so as an artist.

Because Islamic law doesn't apply to me.

Because.... guess what... Mohammed and islam mean absolutely nothing to me - so why should I pander to them?

If i was to draw the pope in exactly the same position, then i wouldn't be too bothered either, because catholicism doesn't apply to me.

The longer we let the muslims think they can dictate their laws on us, then the longer we'll fall foul of censorship.

Screw Mohammed.

There are artists and there are artists. Depending on what you are, it only reflects on you of what you are in life and the level of distinction you belong to in society.

That is your freedom. Just as bees are attracted to pollen/flowers, so too are flies to feces.

Isnt hatred for the unknown enough, and we all try a new tack of understanding instead? Arent you all tired of hitting the wall everyday?

So you believe it's perfectly fine to ridicule another's beliefs? To make a joke out of something they find sacred because YOU believe it's ridiculous? Interesting.

[edit on 7/20/2010 by ~Lucidity]

Do modern day Christians kill people when they make fun of Jesus or God? No.
Do Catholics try and kill you because you made a Pope joke? No
Do Buddhist come to your home and stab you because you have a Buddha but are not Buddhist? No
Do muslims want to kill you because you drew mohammed? Yes.

See the point here?

Did anyone who drew such pictures was found murdered? Heck! A black walking into a white KKK bar spouting black BS would have a higher chance of being thrashed than an anti sacred artist getting murdered on the streets of Arizona.

I had to respond to this.

You do realize that children are not allowed to pray aloud in public schools because of the separation of church and state provided for by our Constitution?

You think Sharia Law, allowing for corporal punishment for women accused(of all things!) appearing in public with her face uncovered or without a related male escort, is a good thing?

Tell me what forms of corporal punishment exist for women in the USA for any crimes excluding capital offenses?

Women are allowed to go to school in the USA also. I bet those Taliban kooks think we are really backwards, eh?

You may not realize this, but you are not making any sense. No worries though. I tried...and will now just ignore what you say...as it clearly seems to me you are not really attempting to communicate. I will go to my grave wondering about what introspection I should be doing and what "guys" I am now a part of.

Yes, they sure do, and they are very annoying. They are not however calling for the death of non believers, (the killing of abortion doctors nothwithstanding).

Not all Muslims are the same, but there are several large, loud groups of them that need to get with the 21st century. I would say the same for the extremist Christians as well.

Mainly uneducated, superstitious, malleable, gullible people + religious fanaticism is ALWAYS going to be a recipe for insane behaviour, and mental illness in general.

This is a case in point. Although somewhat educated (lawyer), this numpty seems to have all the other 'lunatic' qualifying criteria.

What an absolute waste of space.

Of course I know these things. What part of anything I posted made you assume I did not? Children in American public schools are allowed to pray all they want. You are misinformed.

And it's not up to me to either judge or change these things for those women. They must do that for themselves. If and when they so choose and how they choose. Whether I think it's a good thing or a bad thing is irrelevant.
