This hatred between the two goes all the way back to when the Bible was written so it's no surprise that Israel would be worried about these individuals getting nuclear weapons since Israel knows more than any one else how much these people want to blow them off the face of the map.

That´s some hardcore bull. In history Israel and Persia have been allies. In fact, such good allies that a Persian king named Cyrus freed the jews from Babylon, escorted them back to Jerusalem and helped the jews build the (in)famous temples. Hence why Cyrus the Great is referred to as the 'Annointed one' in the Torah. He liberated the jews from slavery.

Or how about the Iranians that saved numerous Jews from the Germans by ways of diplomacy? One example can be found in France.

The hostility against Iran by Khazars is something new. The actual jews have looked to Iranians as their friends and liberators in history and the Iranians looked upon the actual jews as friends.

You need to shut it with the blowing off the face of the map and bull about history. If you don't know then shut up and do everyone a favour, instead of parroting Fox news. Get out.

Is it true that Israel tried to pay the 22,000 to 25,000 Jewish people living in Iran to move and they refused? I ran across that today while I was looking something up and meant to get back to it...

How 'rational' is it for Israel to attack the proliferation of nuclear arms from other nations, whilst simultaneously denying the existence (or transparent/independent inspection) of either it's own nuclear facilities or arms?

Someone please explain.

Do you mean this ?

Iran's Jews have given the country a loyalty pledge in the face of cash offers aimed at encouraging them to move to Israel, the arch-enemy of its Islamic rulers. The incentives — ranging from £5,000 a person to £30,000 for families — were offered from a special fund established by wealthy expatriate Jews in an effort to prompt a mass migration to Israel from among Iran's 25,000-strong Jewish community. The offers were made with Israel's official blessing and were additional to the usual state packages it provides to Jews emigrating from the diaspora. However, the Society of Iranian Jews dismissed them as "immature political enticements" and said their national identity was not for sale. "The identity of Iranian Jews is not tradeable for any amount of money," the society said in a statement. "Iranian Jews are among the most ancient Iranians. Iran's Jews love their Iranian identity and their culture, so threats and this immature political enticement will not achieve their aim of wiping out the identity of Iranian Jews."

Iran's Jews reject cash offer to move to Israel

Another interesting thing from the article was this...

The following correction was printed in the Guardian's Corrections and clarifications column, Saturday July 28 2007

In the article below we reported that last year President Ahmadinejad said (quoting the late Ayatollah Khomeini) that Israel should be "wiped off the map". A more literal translation of the statement he made in 2005, at The World without Zionism conference in Tehran, is "the regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

I believe that's one of the questions a lot of people are asking. Do you think we'll ever get an answer or see any change before some nuclear disaster occurs?

That's it...and a much better article than the one I ran across. Thank you for finding and posting it.

I remember when that bit of propaganda about "wiping Israel off the face of the earth" went viral. It was so clearly a translation error, but that didn't stop the machine from using it for its agenda. I remember hundreds if not thousands of debates about this, at times they were almost violent, and any voice of logic or reason was shot down.

Watching things like this that prey on the fears people have explode in the media is an amazing thing. The shame is that there are probably literally tens if not hundreds of millions of people in the world today who still believe he said that. Because of course the correction or retraction was in tiny print and buried on page 36.

I think Iran should have legal nuke bombs. Unlike israel who has illegal WMD. Which they say that they will use on western allies, if they dont agree with their insane policys. Samson option? Are we forgetting the USS liberty? Are the Iranians importing drugs to the USA? Are they stealing body organs from murdered people? Are the iranians murdering people using their allies passports? israel does not have the right to criticise any one. If anything, its they who should be investigated. They should be taken to the war crimes courts. But that wont happen as they are backed by the USA.

Hah, because obviously the United States made the most rational uses of their nuclear arsenal. Or Russia. Or China.

All 3 wanted to put nukes in space as a weaponized deterrent.

Everyone knows you go right from clean energy to BLOWING UP OTHER PEOPLE if America doesn't agree with how you run your nation.

We get it Iran has political issues, corruption, and bad people in charge. How is that any different from the United States?

If Iran gets one nuke its likely it will be attacked. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Well gee, lets all go down and have us a lice war.

Bah, enjoy what you all voted for. That goes for everyone in Iran and Israel and America.

IMHO the only "irrational" state allowed to have (concealed, hiden,) Nukes is Israel.

This scares me 100 times more then Iran being on the verge of acquiring one.

Is Israel worried it's enemy is going to be able to fight with the same weapons perhaps?

Not likely, considering the Tesla philosophy of mutual destruction is flawed. Once everyone has nukes, The US will make something better and sell it to Israel.

LieBuster, are you implying that the U.S. was instrumental in working with the Israelis to get nukes, or did I extrapolate your statement incorrectly? I'm not brusehed up on the history or theory of the Israeli weapons acquisitions program, but I do seem to recall it was not the U.S.

Actually they got the technology from Pakistan, namely a guy by the name of Abdul Qadeer Khan, father of the "Islamic Bomb"

Also likely to have been feeding Iran and other nations any needed technical support in their nuclear weapons programs.

Khan, knows his stuff, and has proven it.

Pakistan has nukes, and multiple tests to back it up... Pakistan was "allowed" to develop nukes to defend itself against India.

And India was allowed to have nukes because it gave us mangoes.

(I am totally kidding as to the reason they were allowed to have nukes, but it's slightly related and was too good to pass up.)

Jokes are good... But on a more serious note, the world should rightly question why the international community was willing to allow Pakistan to develop nukes to defend itself against a hostile neighbor (India) also a nuclear armed nation, yet Iran is NOT allowed to develop nukes to defend itself against a nuclear armed neighbor.

Pakistan is no more or less stable than Iran, in fact there are many destabilizing factors in Pakistan, a nation which is home to vast numbers of radical Islamic extremists. But it was okay for them to have nukes! and especially their own secret nuclear programs.

To me it is an interesting and unexplainable double standard.

Khan HAS aided both North Korea and Iran in their nuclear programs.

Honestly it's because Pakistan does not yell to the highest hills insane things.

Pakistan in fair and able to be talked to. We can talk with Iran, yea, but it's like talking to a baby who just babbles. Nothing comes from it. Pakistan AND India both have a history of being sane and responsible with their anger at each other. They wouldn't just shoot nukes "for the lulz". They were reasonable people who spoke and kept their words. Neither Iran under the current president nor America under the last two has been capable of keeping their word nor speaking sensibly.

Both nations are comparable to a person at a dinner table seeing a water bottle and going "LOOK! LOOK AT THAT! HOLY CRAP! NO! THAT'S OFFENSIVE! WHAT AN A-HOLE YOU ARE! HOW COULD YOU! NO! NO!"

Everyone else who's sane sees a water bottler and is wondering what the hell is going on. Iran's water bottle is Israel and America's water bottle is Iran.

That's one of the best analogies and examples of the double standard and hypocrisy at play here...Pakistan and India as compared to Iran and Israel. The similarities of the situation are glaringly obvious, and in some cases far more volatile, as you mentioned. It's been mentioned in a few threads on this subject in bits and pieces, but I haven't seen it summarized logically, point by point..

What a bunch of crap. Noone allowed India to have nukes. India secretly developed nuclear weapons and when India announced it's first successful nuclear weapon test also known as Pokhran test it was sanctioned by United States and other Western countries for many years. These sanctions were only removed in 2007-2008 before Bush went out of Presidency and even then nuclear weapon related technology is restricted for India still. India has developed it's nuclear weapons on their own and least of all U.S.

U.S has never supported India, Indians know this but don't mind that because they are more concerned with their own growth.

Netanyahu's shrink commited suicide because he could't handle Netanyahu's irratioality...

Anguished Suicide Note Cites ‘Deluge of Doublethink’ In Driving Kind-Hearted Shrink to Despair
Moshe Yatom, a prominent Israeli psychiatrist who successfully cured the most extreme forms of mental illness throughout a distinguished career, was found dead at his home in Tel Aviv yesterday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A suicide note at his side explained that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been his patient for the last nine years, had “sucked the life right out of me.”

“I can’t take it anymore,” wrote Yatom. “Robbery is redemption, apartheid is freedom, peace activists are terrorists, murder is self-defense, piracy is legality, Palestinians are Jordanians, annexation is liberation, there’s no end to his contradictions. Freud promised rationality would reign in the instinctual passions, but he never met Bibi Netanyahu. This guy would say Gandhi invented brass knuckes.”

It was a JOKE. But thanks for bringing those points up. India is also not a signatory to the NPT. Neither is Pakistan.
