"If you're wondering how a giant oil slick could be allowed to form in the Gulf Coast and lap at the Louisiana shoreline, here's a scary thought: The agency responsible for preventing something like this was too busy snorting crystal meth off toaster ovens."
(snippet from article)

When you hear them talking about the M.M.S. on the news channels, and in President Obama's speech, this is the Federal Government Agency they're referring to.

I watched Rachel Maddow on MSNBC tonight and her show was very informative. There is so much corruption between the federal agencies that are supposed to regulate oil drilling, and the oil companies, it's not funny.

Here's another look at what M.M.S. has been up to. Both articles together tell a very disturbing story.
M.M.S. allows drilling without needed permits

Yet lets keep giving more of our rights over to the feds and let them regulate even more. They're track record is awesome between wall street and now this.

Are you serious? That's really crazy for them to do that.

Yes, that is what they need to do. The feds need more power, more employees, more money to do something.

Just watch ventian, someone will write up a thread on how government needs to implement more regulations. More control, more money.

No, do not prosecute criminals. No, do not make companies pay completely for all damages. No, just sweep it under the carpet and make the taxpayers pay.

You know what, I think it is time for Judge Roy Bean type tactics. Time to shoot some criminals.

Very interesting article. I always enjoy exposing government inefficiencies whenever possible. While doing drugs at MMS didn't help anything, I'm wondering if drugs on the deepwater horizon played any cause. It was April 20th, 420, and if any cannabis users were aboard the rig and wanted to partake in that days festivities, due to the current laws in place, they would have had to probably smoke it someplace out of the way that was maybe not a safe place to smoke. Yeah there is the methane mud bubble story, but the date of the accident has left me wondering if something else had taken place.

That's true, anyone who smokes pot would have been firing up a bowl on 4/20. Just speculation but I live out here on the west coast and mary jane is quite popular here. (For anyone that doesn't already know, 4:20 is "pot smoking time" among enthusiasts)
Interesting theory to add to the equation.

If they were snorting meth, they should of had it fixed by now, granted it would of been with duct tape and old stereo parts, but with the help of the shadow people, that sucker should be locked up tight.

Never put a screw driver in a meth heads hands because, "Only you can prevent disassembled appliances."

Peace

Maybe the explosion was really a meth lab on the rig.

Now there is a conspiracy! Another reason to expand our war on drugs!

BP was recklessly cutting costs like at their refinery that blew up,
like their pipeline in Alaska that burst due to lousy maintenance.

This well was drilled both as an exploratory well
and then this rig did something it doesn’t normally do, it added what’s called a production liner to the well. In other words, it prepped this particular hole to actually produce, and this rig was set to move off the hole in two days and go on to another- drill another exploratory well. They wouldn’t brought another production rig over it at the time. And then started producing it. But, this was an exploration well which was asked for some reason to finish production operations on this well and there is some inference that the company itself had lost some drilling pipe in a prior well up to $25 million worth of drilling pipe. And
one of the reasons this rig stayed on this particular well to complete the production operations was
to save money because they had lost money on a prior exploratory well.
That, again, is something that needs to be looked into.
