A human being can survive an average of three to five days without the intake of water, assuming sea-level altitude, room temperature and favorable relative humidity.

If he's a fraud then fine, but the link you have in your post is actually saying that after six days of observation without food or drink he showed no signs of degeneration.
I'm not understanding.. has something been discovered I'm not catching?

In November 2003, after over a year of coaxing, Prahlad Jani was finally persuaded to participate in a scientific research study. A medical research team of twenty-one specialists, headed by Dr. Sudhir V. Shah, had Mr. Jani under twenty-four hours of observation for ten days at the Sterling Hospital in Ahmedabad. The team's research expertise included cardiology, neurology, urology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, renal function, pulmonary function, ENT analysis, psychiatry, general medicine, and other specialities. A series of investigations were done on Mr. Jani in each of these areas according to a pre-determined protocol, and additional tests were carried out as per suggestions of the team. At the conclusion of their intensive investigations the team's doctors were left with an unexplained mystery, unable to disprove Mr. Jani's claims.
Prahlad Jani, a holy man, or fakir, who is over 70 years old, has just spent 10 days under constant observation in Sterling Hospital, in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad.
During that time, he did not consume anything and "neither did he pass urine or stool", according to the hospital's deputy superintendent, Dr Dinesh Desai.

Maybe...maybe not, the scientist wasn't the one who made the claim, the 82-year old man did.
Also, what to say about his brain scans of a 25-year old resemblance?
Dietary antioxidants can't get that extreme of an effect(although as he claims he didn't get any food, so no way of antioxidants being ingested by him apparently).
The laboratory facility doing the test is a military one, who makes drones and ballistic missiles...
Outright dismissal of this is not that easy...
"Easy tiger....."

Until then, it's a hoax.

Scientists are studying an 82-year-old Indian man who claims he has not eaten any food or drink for 70 years.
It shouldn't take to long to prove if 'scientists' are studying this man. How long can the average human being last without food and drink? my reckoning is by the end of the week we should know.
