Yesterday, Type O's front-man Peter Steele died of heart failure at the age of 48. My thoughts go out to the family, friends, and the band that will never be the same without him. R.I.P.

Sad, sad news.

I've been a Type O-Negative fan for so long, it's going be weird thinking of them as not being there anymore.

Type O fans, let's give the late, great Peter Steel a proper tribute.

Legendary stuff, thanks for posting.

I was starting to think I'm the only Peter Steel fan on ATS/BTS. :shk:

He also worked with a band called Fallout in the late 70's and early 80's:

Rock Hard

I have seen them every year for 12 years they have toured. I feel like I have lost a friend. Thanks for putting this up. No one will ever take his place. Rest in peace Peter.

Holy Snap!!! This is breaking news to me.
Been a fan for ages. Tis a sad day indeed. Guess I already know what I'm doing after work. Picking up some drinks and blasting Carnivore!

R.I.P. Peter Steele.

I've been a fan for years but just relatively recently got to see them live for the first time.

I feel like I should stand up and say something about a guy I met once and listened to music by. I dunno why, but his personality drew you in like that.

I'm not going to make some dumb cliche like "the world of music lost a great person" or something, but it's depressing to think I'll never get to talk to him again or hear new work by him.

And yeah, I know I'm like a month late. I don't use bts too often.

Thanks for the reply, Magnivea.

First Peter Steele and now Ronnie James Dio...

This is sizing up to be a bad year for Metal.

Let's not forget Paul Raven, bassist for Killing Joke and Ministry collaborator.

Hadn't heard about his passing, thanks for pointing it out.

I loves me some Ministry...

2010 officially sucks.
