bricks dont show andy forethought.

its more like the reactions of a hysterical child that didnt get what they want so they reacted impulsively. at the same time it also shows their level of intellect if the best thing they could do is find a brick i mean they didnt even make the brick. if their goal was to cause alarm why use a brick? why not make a statement? i mean its not hard to make a molotov, though molotovs have served as a symbol of rebellion throughout all of history. Looing at periods in time where revolution was soon to follow, molotovs are often a prelude to such social change.

a brick is not a prelude to change, its merely a symbol of laziness and stupidity. Perhaps we will see more well thought outbursts that can carry a larger weight if they have a bigger impact. lets hope someday they get off their couches and do more then just this.

Are you actually saying that more violence is in order to get the point across? You do realize that a cocktail would have likely taken lives right? You are advocating murder as a way to make a statement? What is that statement anyway? Listen to the minority of people or else?

So we agree, sometimes violence is needed to uproot a corrupt government.

Theoretically, but that never happened in America.

America formed its own nation. The british tried to remove said government and lost.
The south tried to leave the government...they failed.
Now some rednecks want to erm...do something involving bricks + windows = freedom.
Judging by the scoreboard, I am not thinking their chances are going to go over well.

I wish I could find it, but last week someone started an email/blog/post/thread (not sure) saying the time for preaceful protests were over and encouraged people to throw bricks through the office windows of democrats... apparently this was done in the revolution.

Sorry... my memory really sucks but I don't have time now to look it up.

What is beginning?

Brick heads shatter glass as babies get health coverage?

A few poor uneducated losers without the integrity or fortitude to stand behind their actions and beliefs throw some bricks through some windows outside Buffalo. And this is news?

Daniel Boone haters target his great, great, great, grand daughter, Louise.

And so it begins alright...the beginning of the end for our reptilian overlords!

I can hear their evil leathery wings flapping back to the cave now

That appears to be the general statement by many...if the fringe isn't not just heard, but completely obeyed...its time to start smashing up stuff...because its patriotic or whatnot.

Remember that one time that Bush invaded iraq and the anti-war protestors lit the white house on fire and everyone cheered, and all the pro-war majority were like...cool, you go anti-war dudes, your a total patriot.

oh wait...nevermind, that was just my afternoon meds kicking in..thats right, that particular branch of minorities were decried as antiamerican for even protesting without violence...Fox news told me that protesters are anti-americans.

You know what, I called my representatives as well, and I told them we needed reform now, and you know what, they listened.

I love how many people on here are claiming that the representatives didn't listen to the people. You assume that -everybody- is against HCR.

Well, you know what...

Not everyone is.

My representatives listened to me, and I am thankful for it.

Good for you, I am happy that you need the government to take care of you and you got your wish. I prefer to take care of myself and don't need big government to interfere with my life.

This country is divided like I have never seen before in my life. There are the self reliant people that don't need a big government nanny state and then there are the dependent people that need the government to dictate how to live their lives. The middle ground is getting smaller and smaller. Its a powder keg ready to explode.

Bricks....pfft, Where is the originality in that?

Should have used an inflatable love doll with a note attached stating: "The next time you feel the need to screw over the public, use this until the feeling subsides. Less complaints and less problems all around"

Says the man on the internet

The development of what we now call the Internet started in 1957 when the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, the first satellite, beating the United States into space. The powers behind the American military at the time became highly alarmed as this meant that the USSR could theoretically launch bombs into space, and then drop them anywhere on earth. In 1958 the concerns of people in the US military triggered the creation of the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
DARPA's initial role was to jump start American research in technology, find safeguards against a space-based missile attack and to reclaim the technological lead from the USSR. After only 18 months after the creation of DARPA, the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency had developed and deployed the first US satellite. DARPA went on to have a direct contribution to the development of the Internet by appointing Joseph Licklider to head the new Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO).
It was the job of the IPTO to further the work previously done by members of the "SAGE" (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) program and develop technologies to protect the US against a space-based nuclear attack.
Licklider envisaged the potential benefits of a countrywide communications network, influencing his successors to implement his vision and to hire Lawrence Roberts who at that time was carrying out research with networks which was also being funded by DARPA.
Roberts led development of the ARPANet network architecture, and based it on the new idea of packet switching. A special computer called an Interface Message Processor was developed to realise the design. The ARPANet first went live in October 1969, with communications between the University of California in Los Angeles and the Stanford Research Institute.
The first networking protocol used on the ARPANet was the Network Control Program. In 1983, it was replaced with the TCP/IP protocol, which is still the standard used today.

This country is divided like I have never seen before in my life.

but thats perhaps because you haven't been paying attention...

President George Washington said in his farewell address in 1796, "agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms." It "kindles the animosity of one part against another (and) foments occasionally riot and insurrection."

After two centuries, the nation continues to ignore its founding father's message.

"We've had partisanship ever since we've had federal government," Senate historian Donald Ritchie said. "Bipartisanship is really the exception to the rule."

This is wrong. Why don't you get your facts straight? 54% of Republicans brainwashed by FOX News pundits were against this bill. The rest of the population can do math without Glen Becks blackboard and so have been in favor of this bill (since A SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC OPTION was not on the table thanks again to Repubtilians) all along.

Nothing you said has anything to do with this bill. Keep listening to Beck, it seems to be educating you well. When you have something relevant to rant about your posts will be more interesting at least.

This has to be a nightmare scenario for the GOP. It has the potential to turn the GOP from the party of conservative America to one of fringe radicals. Something that will drive away moderate Americans in droves. As the majority of Americans will never agree with using violence or terrorist tactics regardless of their political views.

If this were to happen, it may spur a movement to the middle.

The way things are going right now. The Dems are being labeled as socialists and the Reps as "fringe radicals".

Maybe the time is ripe for a 3rd party to move in and offer an alternative to both.

Yeah, reform hmm?

Congratulations, you now have to pay more money for your premiums, and your employer can raise the cost of your premiums DEPENDING ON YOUR MEDICAL CONDITION. Oh and best part is, there's no way out of it. You HAVE TO buy it.

Sounds like fun aye?

Popular opinion on a day to day cycle means little...if that dictated law, then we would still have slaves and the government would be giving us everything under the sky while charging zero taxes.

The people en-masse are actually kind of dumb...hense why the people try to elect the best and brightest of their district to represent them.

Couple quotes to contemplate:

The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter.” - Winston Churchill

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” -Thomas Jefferson

Assumptions are the mother of all f---ups.

It does not matter WHAT you say, I am glad health care passed.
People like you piss me off.

I vote for a new system all together! The republic will never last...all usher in a new system.

Technocracy is a hypothetical form of government in which engineers, scientists, and other technical experts are in control of decision making in their respective fields. The term technocracy derives from the Greek words tekhne meaning skill and kratos meaning power, as in government, or rule. Thus the term technocracy denotes a system of government where those who have knowledge, expertise or skills compose the governing body. In a technocracy decision makers would be selected based upon how highly knowledgeable they are, rather than how much political capital they hold.

... on a scale required to accomplish such in These United States? - Never Gonna Happen.

And certainly not while a significant and Required portion of the populace are all too complacent and comfortable with their 6 o'clock snewze, american idiots and faux survival series attentions-based attitudes or lifestyles.

No mercenary or vigilante here ... just one who hopes Common Sense and overall Sanity prevail ... throughout.

... though I would have to admit it aint looking too good at the moment. :shk:

With regards the "bricks incident", as noted in the OP ... You can't fix stupid.

Breaking windows is nothing short of breaking the law. Doing so typically finds one busted and faced only with Additional legal hurdles impeding their way, cause or whathaveyou. ... just makes no sense. (?)

Wanna make a point, cause or desire made known?

Inform others and Rally 'round like-minded individuals. Start local and build from there.

If the "ideal" Takes hold - Good.

If it doesn't, so be it.

Throwing bricks through windows, in response to, or as a result of, just aint the way to go.

It serves No purpose other than to Further intrinsically redefine the definition and public/media-driven consideration of "nutters, radicals, extremists, ultra-s, neo-s, conspiracy theorists, whathaveyou's.

haha you good sir make me raff, assuming america isnt just another jewel in the crown of the british empire. Its a proven fact America is a prawn of the british under the subject of the crown.

Just read any of the works by a visionairy named Lyndon LaRouche who spells out the truth and broke the barrier of silence about this issue, uniting the american people under the banner of freedom!
