You know what, I called my representatives as well, and I told them we needed reform now, and you know what, they listened.
I love how many people on here are claiming that the representatives didn't listen to the people. You assume that -everybody- is against HCR.
Well, you know what...
Not everyone is.
My representatives listened to me, and I am thankful for it.

That appears to be the general statement by many...if the fringe isn't not just heard, but completely obeyed...its time to start smashing up stuff...because its patriotic or whatnot.
Remember that one time that Bush invaded iraq and the anti-war protestors lit the white house on fire and everyone cheered, and all the pro-war majority were like...cool, you go anti-war dudes, your a total patriot.
oh wait...nevermind, that was just my afternoon meds kicking in..thats right, that particular branch of minorities were decried as antiamerican for even protesting without violence...Fox news told me that protesters are anti-americans.

don't need big government to interfere with my life.
The development of what we now call the Internet started in 1957 when the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, the first satellite, beating the United States into space. The powers behind the American military at the time became highly alarmed as this meant that the USSR could theoretically launch bombs into space, and then drop them anywhere on earth. In 1958 the concerns of people in the US military triggered the creation of the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
DARPA's initial role was to jump start American research in technology, find safeguards against a space-based missile attack and to reclaim the technological lead from the USSR. After only 18 months after the creation of DARPA, the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency had developed and deployed the first US satellite. DARPA went on to have a direct contribution to the development of the Internet by appointing Joseph Licklider to head the new Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO).
It was the job of the IPTO to further the work previously done by members of the "SAGE" (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) program and develop technologies to protect the US against a space-based nuclear attack.
Licklider envisaged the potential benefits of a countrywide communications network, influencing his successors to implement his vision and to hire Lawrence Roberts who at that time was carrying out research with networks which was also being funded by DARPA.
Roberts led development of the ARPANet network architecture, and based it on the new idea of packet switching. A special computer called an Interface Message Processor was developed to realise the design. The ARPANet first went live in October 1969, with communications between the University of California in Los Angeles and the Stanford Research Institute.
The first networking protocol used on the ARPANet was the Network Control Program. In 1983, it was replaced with the TCP/IP protocol, which is still the standard used today.
This country is divided like I have never seen before in my life.
President George Washington said in his farewell address in 1796, "agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms." It "kindles the animosity of one part against another (and) foments occasionally riot and insurrection."
After two centuries, the nation continues to ignore its founding father's message.
"We've had partisanship ever since we've had federal government," Senate historian Donald Ritchie said. "Bipartisanship is really the exception to the rule."
Fringe minority, riiight.. 54% of Voters Oppose the Health Care Plan. A majority oppose the plan being considered by the legislators

Good for you, I am happy that you need the government to take care of you and you got your wish. I prefer to take care of myself and don't need big government to interfere with my life.
This country is divided like I have never seen before in my life. There are the self reliant people that don't need a big government nanny state and then there are the dependent people that need the government to dictate how to live their lives. The middle ground is getting smaller and smaller. Its a powder keg ready to explode.
This has to be a nightmare scenario for the GOP. It has the potential to turn the GOP from the party of conservative America to one of fringe radicals. Something that will drive away moderate Americans in droves. As the majority of Americans will never agree with using violence or terrorist tactics regardless of their political views.

Congratulations, you now have to pay more money for your premiums, and your employer can raise the cost of your premiums DEPENDING ON YOUR MEDICAL CONDITION. Oh and best part is, there's no way out of it. You HAVE TO buy it.
Sounds like fun aye?

Technocracy is a hypothetical form of government in which engineers, scientists, and other technical experts are in control of decision making in their respective fields. The term technocracy derives from the Greek words tekhne meaning skill and kratos meaning power, as in government, or rule. Thus the term technocracy denotes a system of government where those who have knowledge, expertise or skills compose the governing body. In a technocracy decision makers would be selected based upon how highly knowledgeable they are, rather than how much political capital they hold.
