Kill Middle East/ General Conspiracy threads on ATS !

Hi ATS,

There has been concurring problem. Lately, all Middle East Issues and General Conspiracy thread relating to Middle East countries for eg. Iran/ Israel/ Palestine, Iraq/ Afghanistan etc are being deliberately derailed to kill threads. In almost all these issues related threads go completely off topic and a honest discussion relating to the main subject of the thread is futile.

Yes we can report the off topic posts but many times by the time Mod's look into it the whole thread is completely derailed or killed. Many thread authors spend a lot of time collecting info and put in effort to research threads and such derailment again and again is against the spirit of ATS. Despite of all this authors spend time and effort and brave such obstacles to make threads in hope of discussion regarding the content of the thread.

In view of this I request ATS Staff to provide greater scrutiny and stricter action on these sections similar to 9/11 Conspiracy section.

There does appear to be organized tag-team efforts in full swing on both forums. Being that both issues are riddled with disinfo there is no wonder with the internet coming of age as a media power house, that spin doctors from both Official Story camps would send out hooligans to such popular sites as this one and attempt to kill all intellectual inquiry of their lies.

The lowest ball tactic currently at play is to get those who are trying to get the truth heard to react in such a way that mods censor in step with T&C. It's not all that different then israel's strategy in encouraging palestinians to retaliate, so they have an excuse to infringe upon their human rights.

Perhaps if you were not so fixated upon and prejudiced against Israel and Jews, you would not be so sensitive about responses that question your motivation or point out your bias?

Funny you talk of prejudice when all I am asking is not derailing of topic intentionally. I am not saying do not put your views but I am saying do not put things in thread unrelated to topic of the thread. Let ATS Staff enforce stricter action against these sections and they themselves will find out and take action against such derailments. Why afraid of greater scrutiny if nothing to hide? Why purposely derail threads and kill threads when not afraid of truth.

Not in one of any of my threads you can point out any statement against any kind of "religion" (unless ofcourse I was copying exact words of derailers against them) coz I am an atheist and couldn't care less how other people look, wear, eat etc The reason for that is I live in a democratic country and it has real democracy where everyone is treated equally irrespective of their color, creed, religion or race.

And I deserve a honest discussion against a thread of a subject i put effort and time in creating, not some derailers to come there and talk about chicken/wood when the thread is about moon.

If you think the thread or topic of the thread is prejudiced why not talk about the subject of the thread and disprove what is said in thread instead of falsely derailing whole thread? If the thread is about politics why not talk about politics instead of bringing religion into it? Why is it you guys are afraid of talking of the politics?

Democracy=mob rule. In any case i have not seen the derailing you are talking about. Issues in the middle east are so interwoven that the thread is bound to start expanding into other areas.

You say you haven't seen any derailing and yet we have a blatant example of a derailing attempt in this thread in the form of discrediting the OP with an accusation of being bias, without even reviewing the full breathe/scoop of his threads and recognizing that he has no religious affiliation that would create a bias.

I see this sort of tactic at play all the time, it's very disrespectful to an OP's efforts in initiating and moving a discussion forward. I'm thinking we all need to make a collective effort to label/box/confine these sort of distractions from the subject matter, by calling them out, then moving back on track in the same post to maintain focus and integrity to the subject matter at hand. Those who are most intimately aware of the up-hill battle this topic maintains, i think are more skilled at recognizing these detouring efforts. Mods on the other hand have an eye for T&C violations, with unfortunately the blind spot of understanding/caring what initiated such.

If there is a concerted effort to derail valid discussion by a small group of people, and evidence points conclusively, they will be banned.

Those prophetic words were written by a well regarded and famed Canadian who had made a career in communications and died shortly before the advent of the Internet.

The stakes are huge where Middle East concerns are involved my friend.

Not only do the worlds mechanized infrastructures depend on Middle East Oil but in some stranger than fiction way most of the world’s religious infrastructure depends upon Middle East dogmas for it to run as well too.

On top of that the Middle East just happens to be the perfect place to run a mechanized non stop war machine always thirsty for oil and petrol and the insane and obscene profits that come along with it, not to mention the control elements and power that goes to the victors who can control that vital commodity at the source.

I love ATS the staff and ownership do a remarkable job at working hard to keep the forums civil and productive.

Yet the reality is there is a war going on in the Middle East, ones that claim lives from around the world everyday as well as those who live there.

With the stakes as high as they are, with the prize as desired as it is, Middle East issues will bring out the guerilla information specialists both pros and amateurs alike because these wars do ultimately effect us all one way or the other whether it be economically, regarding our liberties, or regarding our very lives and safety.

I think it behooves us all to consider that where the Middle East is concerned the stakes are this high and the only thing each and any one of us can do is to be true to ourselves and our own principles and do our very level best to make sure the forums stay civil and productive by being civil and productive and honoring the terms of service agreements to the very best of our human capability.

Ultimately the forum gangs have some limited success and that limited success is displaying that they are a forum gang. There arguments are rejected for the most part except by one another and they often shame themselves in tell tale ways in putting those arguments forth in the way that they do.

Ultimately on a place like ATS where more intelligent minds congregate such people and their efforts simply defeat themselves. Sometimes the very best thing is to let them talk.

Something about giving people enough rope to hang….

I agree that there does seem to be an influx of new members lately that pop up together in various threads. Further, many of the posts seem to echo similar sentiments leaving some to ask if they are one in the same with different names attached. However, instead of labeling them all as some secret society of thread derailers, it MAY be due to one or more of the following:

1. With the winter break, many new members came on board. They also seemed to be very focused on making their twenty-post count in order to start a thread. I came to this conclusion because many of them started threads in the intro section and made mention of the 20-post problem. It may be quite possible that they were simply reading others comments and writing something similar to get thru their 20 faster.

2. There was also the mention of a gaming site or something being down and a bunch of new members also said they came from there. If a group of people that were all part of another site as a group, they are more likely to share similar interests. Sort of like if ATS goes down for a day or two, I'm sure you could find a bunch of members on the popular UFO / Alien sites.

3. Once winter break is over, by the beginning of January or so, I think these thread killers will slowly wane and we will get back to the more regular contributors. I don't have any stats or anything, but I would guess there are influxes of new members in December and th end of May / early June. It more than likely then stabilizes again at the end of January and beginning of September.

Just my two cents since there are a bunch of new members and I would hate for them to think they are unwelcome or being singled out.

Yes some do as was shown in NEWS ARTICLE...if you find it offensive then it does not mean it is not true event. Instead of manipulating, twisting words and derailing thread atleast you can discredit by showing "proof" it isn't so. All the threads have links and sources posted with them..post your proof showing the story is false..why afraid of that?
